Chapter 1223: Chapter 1242: Father and Son Competing for Favor (14)

"Aunt Fu, why are you up so early?"

The latter approached the bed with a smile on her face, speaking with a hint of disapproval, "I’m up early, but someone is up even earlier than me."

An Nan immediately understood, "He’s already here, huh."

Nodding slightly, the other continued to smile and said, "He came to the kitchen to make breakfast for you as soon as he arrived. You know, you’re really lucky to have found such a good man."

"Hehehe, I’m just lucky, I guess."

The person in front of the bed shook their head helplessly, "You really are shameless, saying things like that. But here’s the thing, whether you’re lucky or the man is foolishly good, Aunt Fu’s hopes for you are simple. I hope you understand to be content and not wait until you’ve lost something good to regret it later."

Listening to this, An Nan’s smile gradually faded and was replaced by a complex expression that others couldn’t quite grasp. Then she nodded forcefully, "Aunt Fu, I understand. Don’t worry. I know what I need to do."

"Good, as long as you understand. Rest a bit more, and I’ll call you for breakfast."

"Okay."

After Aunt Fu left, An Nan remained in the same position, lost in thought.

Perhaps her emotions were too complex right now.

Lying in bed thinking too much naturally made it hard to sleep, so An Nan simply got up. As soon as she reached the living room, through the kitchen’s clear glass she saw the dashing man busy inside, and her heart warmed instantly.

She then simply sat on the sofa in the living room without going into the kitchen to disturb him, just silently watching from there.

Aunt Fu was watering flowers on the balcony, and when she saw this scene, she couldn’t help but let a gentle smile creep onto her lips.

Soon after, An Jiayou also woke up. Ever since returning to B City, he had been staying with An Nan in the apartment. Every morning, the first thing he did was to check the room next door, and only after seeing that little person sleeping soundly did his heart calm down, ready to start the day’s efforts and struggles.

But this morning seemed quite different from usual. The woman who typically slept soundly at this hour was sitting on the sofa in the living room, staring blankly at the man busy in the kitchen, which felt quite abnormal to him.

Standing at the doorway, after a moment of hesitation, he quietly walked over.

Waving his hand lightly in front of her eyes, she spoke up, "An Nan, what are you doing? Daydreaming in the early morning isn’t good. It’s not even spring yet."

Snapping out of her daze, the woman couldn’t help but roll her eyes immediately, sternly warning, "An Jiayou, shut up for me."

An Nan’s shout was loud enough that it caught the attention of the person in the kitchen.

He had initially thought he wouldn’t see this little woman this morning, but now seeing her face flushed with anger sitting on the sofa, his mood inexplicably improved.

He quickly sped up his work and soon carried the prepared breakfast into the living room. Facing the two on the sofa, he gently called out, "Breakfast is ready. Stop staring at each other and come eat."

In the next moment, two sharp gazes simultaneously landed on him.
