Chapter 1289: Chapter 1288: Jealousy
She grabbed the bouquet of roses beside her and flung it straight toward the door.
...
When Liam Coldwell came in carrying food, all he saw in the high-end VIP ward was a floor covered in flowers, mangled beyond recognition by her.
The bouquet of roses he had so kindly bought had just been totally KO’d by her!
"Baby, who pissed you off?"
"Who do you think pissed me off!" she shot back.
All those flowers were bought by Liam Coldwell. She had yanked them out one by one, shredding the petals piece by piece and scattering them all over the room.
The bouquet had been tossed around however she pleased—what a total waste!

On the other side of town, in a certain luxury villa.
The subordinate finished reporting Eva Nightingale’s movements.
Lucas Knight paused. Fresh out of the shower, his fingers resting casually on his thigh, he was about to head straight over to see her when his subordinate added, "President Liam Coldwell... is currently living in the castle together with Miss Eva Nightingale..."
As the words fell, Lucas Knight shot him a cold look.
At first you’d think he was about to explode, but for once, he didn’t.
Lucas Knight forced himself not to lose his temper. Little Eva hated it when he got angry, so on the surface he looked extra mild and approachable. "You can go."
"Harry North, we’re going to the hospital."
"Yes, Crown Prince."
On the way, Lucas Knight’s heart was a mess of nerves and unease.
He still remembered Eva telling him she’d tested two lines, and now...
He didn’t dare let his thoughts run for even a second, he just wanted to see her as soon as possible, wanted her to be okay!
See, little woman, when you’re not by my side, do you know how anxious I get? Something big happens and I don’t even know about it!
Very soon, Lucas Knight drove up to the hospital.
The car stopped, the door opened.
The man was the first to step out with his long, straight legs.
He was far too noble, too mysterious, a peerless face that instantly drew the gaze of countless people in the hospital. "Wow, he’s so handsome! His looks are literally flawless, ahhhh, he’s like N times hotter than my bias!"
"Where do you even find a man like that... I want him to be my man so bad, ahhhh..."
"My HP bar is empty, sob sob sob sob sob sob..."
"Everyone, please make way, don’t block the path, move aside, thanks." The Bodyguards pushed the crowd of women back. There was nothing they could do—every time big boss Lucas Knight showed up, it caused this kind of massive commotion. The Bodyguards immediately tensed up, terrified they wouldn’t be able to keep order on site.
Lucas Knight stepped into the VIP elevator.
As he exited the elevator, he heard a group of people whispering, "Wow, Eva Bennett is so blessed, getting carried into the hospital like that by President Coldwell. I’m so jealous my legs are about to give out."
"What on earth happened that night anyway?"
"I heard that in the dead of night, President Coldwell carried a woman covered in blood into the hospital. It shocked the entire hospital at the time..."
"Ahhhh, isn’t a man this manly only supposed to exist in idol dramas? I’m dying of envy!"
"Eva Bennett is really being spoiled rotten by President Coldwell..."
Lucas Knight: "...!!!"
If only they knew how icy his face was right now.
The kind of cold where however cold you imagine it, that’s exactly how cold it is!
His mind was full of the image from that night, of Liam Coldwell carrying Eva Nightingale in his arms...
A wave of fear and worry surged up from his chest...
She was "pregnant" and bleeding—anyone with a brain knew exactly what the hell that meant!
The women’s chatter drifted into his ears again: "President Coldwell even told the director that she was his woman. I was so shocked when I heard that!"
"Everyone thought President Coldwell was single. Who knew he actually had a wife!"
