Chapter 402: Chapter 402: Yanxi 10
’Host, Clubhouse No. 1 is terrifying. It’s full of inhumane things...’ The Beauty System sent over a few photos. They showed various rooms; besides the fantasy rooms, there were also all sorts of whips, ropes, candles, and so on. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
"As expected, this is deeply unsettling." Tan You had already guessed what kind of place Clubhouse No. 1 was, but she still found it jarring to see. Things that went against a person’s will fundamentally shouldn’t exist.
"Then let’s see what they’re really made of." After closing the photos, Tan You looked up at the sky. She glanced at her now-empty food cart and said softly, "Let’s head back. Go home and get some good rest tonight. You can take today’s earnings. I still have something to do."
The students didn’t notice anything unusual about Tan You. After they parted ways at the food street, they all dispersed, while Tan You calmly drove her food cart in another direction.
Beauty System: ’Host, there are two cars following you.’
Tan You shrugged nonchalantly. "It’s fine. I have to face them sooner or later. Once I’m inside the clubhouse, take over all their surveillance systems." ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
The Beauty System excitedly waved its little paws. ’Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything!’
The men in the two cars following Tan You watched her drive on, thinking her route was strange. Why did it look like she was heading toward their destination?
’What is this? Is she walking right into a trap?’ Henchman #1 called Park Youren. "President, Xu Yanxi is on her way to the clubhouse."
Park Youren was startled for a moment, then a smile spread across his face. "What’s this? Is she walking right into our trap? Keep following her. I’d like to see what kind of game she’s trying to play."
"This place is full of our men. What kind of trouble can she possibly stir up all by herself?"
Tan You’s lips curled. "Ignorance really is bliss. The place is full of their men, true, but that doesn’t mean I’m out of options."
The Beauty System shuddered. ’Host, you... you don’t sound like a good person right now...’
"Maybe the last world was too peaceful," Tan You said, clenching her fists. "Coming to a place so full of filth, my hands are suddenly itching for a fight. To be honest, it’s always just been a war of words before. Now that things are about to get physical, I’m actually getting excited."
As she spoke, Tan You smiled. "Maybe deep down, I’m just a reckless and willful person."
The food cart stopped in front of the clubhouse. Tan You stood before the entrance for a moment, feeling as if the building were a great beast, poised to devour everyone who entered.
The moment she stepped into the clubhouse, the Beauty System quietly went to work. The place didn’t even have a centralized security room, so no one noticed when the system took over all the surveillance feeds.
Tan You glanced at the feeds from a few occupied rooms. "I feel like I need to wash my eyes."
"Do places like this really exist?"
Beauty System: ’Host, you’ve seen it with your own eyes. This is too horrifying. Maybe we should just leave? It’s too dangerous. They have a lot of people, at least seven or eight bodyguards.’
Tan You smoothed out her dress. "All the more reason not to miss it, then. I remember learning how to make a disorienting incense from Uncle Liu. I never thought something I learned for self-defense would come in handy here. I hope Park Youren and his friends enjoy my little gift."
That’s right. Besides Park Youren, there were several of his business partners present as well.
After all, the evidence Tan You had produced was too scandalous. It was data hidden in the deepest, most secure part of their company’s servers. How could a simple math teacher have gotten her hands on it?
That was why they all wanted to teach Tan You a lesson. Now that she had delivered herself right to their doorstep, they certainly weren’t going to hold back.
Tan You walked down a thickly carpeted hallway, not encountering a single staff member along the way. She wasn’t lost; she headed with clear purpose toward the room Park Youren frequented.
The men in the room, watching the live surveillance feed, were surprised. "How does she know we’re in here?"
One of the men lit a cigar. "I did some digging. She’s apparently a computer expert, took it as an elective in college."
"A shame. For someone so smart, she’s made a very foolish decision to go against us."
"Haha, I call first dibs!"
"No way. The President has to go first..."
"Right, right, the President gets to go first..."
The Beauty System watched the smile on Tan You’s face grow wider. ’Host, aren’t you angry?’
"Why would I be angry?" Tan You chuckled. "This is nothing more than the last gasps of dead men walking. Why would that make me angry?"
’Host, this is a society governed by the rule of law...’ The Beauty System’s voice grew a little louder, afraid that Tan You would kill them all in a flash of steel and end up taking the fall herself.
"Do you think I’m some kind of by-the-book fanatic?" Tan You asked, exasperated. "No matter how great their sins are, it’s not my place to pass judgment. Even if the higher-ups all protect their own, once you blow the lid off this thing and stir up public outrage, let’s see who dares to protect them then."
"Politicians may not care about benefits, but they absolutely care about their careers."
Beauty System: ’What’s your plan, Host? Park Youren is extremely well-connected. If he goes down, he’ll implicate a lot of other people... To protect themselves, they’ll do everything they can to come after you.’
Tan You was perfectly calm. "It doesn’t matter. If people want to kill me, I’ll just kill them first. Once they’re all gone, no one will dare to touch me."
’Perhaps it’s because I know what kind of villains are waiting behind that door.’ For the first time, Tan You felt a thrill of excitement course through her. ’It seems I really do have the spirit of a renegade in my bones. Or maybe it’s the spirit of a bandit?’
Tan You wouldn’t admit to being a bandit, but she definitely wanted to teach Park Youren and his cronies a harsh lesson. She stood before the door for two seconds before turning the handle and walking in.
The dozen or so people in the room all turned to look at Tan You. Besides the eight bodyguards, the rest were all Park Youren’s business partners. Tan You even recognized the face of a certain politician among them. ’No wonder Park Youren is so brazen,’ she thought. ’He’s got powerful backing.’
All eyes were on Tan You. She was dressed very simply today, in a plain dress and white sneakers. She wasn’t even carrying a purse, but a small, sachet-like pouch hung from the tie of her dress.
"Good evening, gentlemen. I didn’t expect a surprise bonus." Tan You’s gaze swept over the politician. After getting a clear look at the others’ faces, the smile on her own grew even wider.
Seeing Tan You still smiling at a time like this, one of the men felt a chill run down his spine. "Teacher Xu, good evening. Why don’t we have a seat and talk? May I pour you some tea?"
Tan You shot him a peculiar look. "Tea? You mean the cup you’ve already spiked?"
At her words, the man looked as if he’d been gravely wronged. "Teacher Xu, we’re all law-abiding citizens here... How could we possibly do something so crude...?"
