Chapter 295: Shadows Mystics Return

The beach fell into a stunned hush the moment the goblin’s head hit the sand as something sharp and extremely fast, went through his existence.

*THUD.* And someone landed right beside me.

His body crumpled forward a second later, knees buckling, rusty sword clattering uselessly beside him. Blood sprayed in a short, bright arc and soaked into the wet sand. The head rolled once, twice, then stopped facing the ocean, yellow eyes wide and empty.

A ripple of silence spread outward like a dropped stone in water.

Someone at the back whispered, "Someone came?"

Another voice, higher, nervous: "What was that? I didn’t even see it..."

The dust cloud from the impact hung low for a few seconds, swirling in the cold sea breeze. Then it began to thin.

I stood still, boots planted wide in the damp sand, black sword resting loose at my side. My coat hung torn and heavy with saltwater and grit. I could feel every eye on the beach locked on the settling haze—monsters, humans, everyone.

I smirked and slowly, I turned my head to the right.

"Finally..." I said under my breath, voice soft, almost fond.

The dust finished clearing and she stood there. Tall, steady, dressed head-to-toe in tight black that looked like it had been poured over her skin. Long pink hair flowed behind her in the wind, catching moonlight in soft waves. One hand rested casually on the hilt of a sleek black sword, the blade still clean except for one fresh red smear near the tip.

Alpha.

She looked straight at the enemy line, face calm, eyes a deep glowing purple.

"I’m sorry, Master," she said, voice flat and even. "I was 0.8 seconds late."

I let out a tired laugh, shoulders dropping a little. "Not at all, sweetheart. You came just right on time."

She gave a tiny nod. "I see."

The monsters stared. A tall horned beast near the front growled low, claws flexing around his club.

"Who the hell is that bitch now?" He asked,

Another goblin, scarred and furious, pointed his sword at her. "She just killed one of our own! That makes her our enemy too!"

Alpha didn’t even glance at them. She kept her eyes on the main group, sword hand relaxed but ready.

I chuckled again, louder this time, and glanced sideways at her.

"Seems like you made your entrance in the flashiest way possible," I said, smirking. "They’re already losing their minds."

Alpha tilted her head just slightly, pink hair shifting.

"I just ran fast," she said plainly. "That weird goblin happened to be standing in front."

I laughed—short, rough, full of relief. "Hehehe... that’s exactly what I mean. Cool as always."

"Who... who is she?" The crowd behind us finally found their voices again. A woman in a sundress whispered to her boyfriend. freewebnøvel.coɱ

The beach lay in stunned silence under the moon’s cold light. The waves kept rolling in, slow and heavy, the only sound besides the nervous breathing of hundreds of people. Alaric’s body was still, half in the surf, half on the wet sand, blood pooling dark around him. The broken stump of his sword lay nearby, dull and useless now.

I stood a few yards away, boots planted wide, black coat torn and heavy with saltwater and grit. My sword was gone, vanished into thin air with a small flick of my wrist. My chest rose and fell hard. Sweat ran down my face, mixing with the salt air. Every muscle burned. I was drained—bone-deep tired—but the fight wasn’t over.

I glanced sideways at Alpha, who stood calm and tall beside me, pink hair flowing gently in the sea breeze, black sword still in her hand.

"So where are the other shadow mystics?" I asked, voice low but carrying over the quiet beach. "Don’t tell me you came alone."

Alpha turned her head just slightly, purple eyes fixed on the dark sea behind the enemy line.

"They are here as well," she said, voice flat and certain.

Before anyone could react, a bright, happy voice rang out from the darkness over the water.

"MASTER!!!!!"

A blur of motion shot out of the waves. A girl with cat ears and a twitching tail launched herself straight at me. She slammed into my chest hard enough to knock the air out of me.

*Oof!*

Her arms wrapped around my neck like a vice, legs straddling my waist, tail swishing wildly behind her in pure joy.

"Beta...!?" I choked out, half-laughing, half-struggling to breathe as she squeezed tighter.

"Master! I missed you so much!" she squealed, rubbing her cheek against mine like a happy cat. Her big breasts pressed firmly against my chest, soft and warm through her tight black outfit. "You were gone forever!" ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

I patted her back awkwardly, trying not to drop her. "Easy, Beta... can’t breathe..."

*THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD!*

Five more heavy landings hit the sand around us, concrete cracking under the force.

A girl with short, sharp wolf-cut hair stepped forward first, grinning wide. "Master! We are here!"

Gamma.

One by one the rest appeared, forming a loose circle around me.

Delta, tall and quiet, long black hair tied back, twin daggers already in her hands.

Epsilon, smaller and quick, silver hair in a high ponytail, eyes sharp and alert.

Zeta, broad-shouldered and calm, massive black axe resting on her shoulder like it weighed nothing.

Eta, the youngest-looking, with short messy black hair and a bright, eager smile, twin short swords spinning idly in her fingers.

All seven of them—Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta—stood around me in matching black outfits, weapons ready, eyes glowing the same deep purple as mine. The air around us hummed with shared energy, dark and powerful.

Alpha stepped forward slightly, voice steady and serious.

"Shadow mystics are fully here."

The monsters stared, suddenly uncertain. The goblin leader’s yellow eyes flicked from me to the seven girls, then back again. His grin faltered. The flying beast overhead hissed, wings beating faster.
