It was then that everyone noticed a building not far from the front windshield, largely obscured by black mist.
"When we get out later, if you encounter zombies, just stay behind my back, understand?"
The oppressive feeling from the Legendary Zombie in the Hospital last time was still vivid in his memory.
Even if the Legendary Zombie appeared with the Light Mage Druid, there was nothing going to happen to them.
But if Anjali stays in front, and something happens to her, he can’t forgive himself.
Phantom Druid also takes the position to clear every threat, before they appear.
Vikram had left a machine gun for Divya in the Shelter, and he had brought out the remaining one machine gun and four pistols. But it was she got from the normal drops. So its stats were not so heavy defying.
Hearing Vikram’s words, Anjali nodded and got out of the vehicle together, and stayed behind him.
As soon as they got out of the car, Storm Mage Sprout used his storm and all the mists from their way disappeared.
"Holy crap, Vikram, is this the resource point we’re exploring today? This is way too big!"
"The villa we explored before probably wasn’t even a tenth of this size, right?"
"We’re rich, we’re rich! We’re definitely going to get a lot of good stuff today."
Anjali shouted looking at the factory, after the most disappeared from there.
"Keep quiet," Vikram scolds her while gritting his teeth.
Hearing his scolding, Anjali became quiet, and they quietly walked toward the factory.
Before they even entered, Anjali looked at the massive factory building, her eyes unable to hide her delight.
Vikram listened to Anjali’s words while shifting her gaze to the factory building.
This was a typical modern factory, with a rectangular layout.
The main structure was a large steel-framed workshop, with outer walls covered in blue-grey metal panels, their surfaces smooth and without obvious rust.
Vikram gestured with his hand; the factory building was probably about six or seven meters tall.
It wasn’t as exaggerated as Anjali said, but it was still several hundred square meters.
Overall, it was still smaller than the Hospital.
This factory building would have been just a small roadside factory on Earth.
However, in this resource-scarce Wasteland World, it was enough to make any survivor who saw it envious.
"Let’s go, let’s go first."
Vikram said expressionlessly, Anjali nodded and stepped towards the factory, followed by Healy, Lightly and Stormy.
The factory building was airtight on all sides, mostly covered with iron sheets, except for a few windows high up on the roof.
Vikram and Anjali, armed with weapons, circled the factory building once before finding the main entrance on the east wall.
Strangely, they had circled the outside of the factory and hadn’t found a single zombie.
Even the detector showed no other living creatures nearby.
Shrugging, Vikram approached the main entrance and clearly saw three large roller shutter doors.
Two of them were locked, but the middle one, though closed, could be opened with a pull.
"Vikram, this place looks so eerie," Anjali said beside him.
Although she was excited looking at the factory, after Vikram scolded her, she became quiet. And as Vikram told her, she was behind him every time, holding his hands.
Vikram then remembered that the last time he took them on a long trip was the Savage Wolf Shelter incident.
The black mist hadn’t even started back then.
"What are you afraid of? How many zombies can still beat you now? Besides, don’t you still have a machine gun?"
"And didn’t you say you wanted to kill the most zombies and collect the most resources?"
"Oh, right." Hearing Vikram say that, Anjali immediately perked up.
Vikram gave Anjali a speechless look, then reached out, pulled open the roller shutter door, and stepped inside.
As expected, what greeted their eyes were various metals and semi-automatic machines on the production lines.
Before he could go deeper and take away various materials, there was a commotion from both the left and right sides of the roller shutter door entrance.
Immediately following that, a harsh roar entered their ears.
"Hoo!"
A rotting arm suddenly reached out towards Vikram’s back.
However, Vikram, who was already used to zombies, couldn’t possibly be touched so easily.
With a flash of cold light in his eyes, he swung his blade without even turning his head, instantly ending the zombie’s life.
Turning around, the Zombies attacked towards Stormy, Healy and Lightly.
But these zombies could never have imagined that among this team, even the weakest had a physique of twenty-seven or twenty-eight points.
These few zombies were no match for them at all.
The dozen or so zombies that rushed out of the darkness were cut down in just over ten seconds.
"Hmph, is that all?"
Anjali, who had killed several zombies in a row, put away her weapon and put her hands on her hips, looking smug.
Unexpectedly, Vikram didn’t respond to her at all; instead, he sharply shouted towards the back of a production line not far away, "Come out!"
As soon as he opened the roller shutter door, Vikram had secretly activated his biological detector.
The zombies in the darkness and the Survivors hiding behind the production line were all visible to him.
If he hadn’t noticed their entry, that would have been one thing, but now that such a loud commotion had been made and the other party was still hiding in the dark observing, then it was very likely that they had some intentions towards their group.
Vikram could tolerate other teams also collecting resources in this factory building; after all, these materials were originally ownerless, and he had no right to interfere.
But if they weren’t going to collect resources properly and instead planned to attack them, Vikram would have to intervene... There was no response for a long time.
"I’ll give you three seconds. If you don’t come out, don’t force my hand."
"Three!"
"Two!"
Just as the last number was about to escape his lips, a male voice finally came from inside the factory.
"No, no, no, brother, we’re coming out. Let’s talk nicely."
Everyone looked in the direction of the voice, only to see four figures indeed emerge from behind the production line. ƒreewebɳovel.com
Leading them was a scrawny young man with very small eyes.
"Survivors from nearby?"
"That’s right, bro. My name is Lucian, and we should be considered half neighbors."
"With such a big commotion, you’ve only just decided to come out now. Were you planning on a mantis stalking the cicada, with the oriole behind?"
Seeing that the few people were sensible enough to show themselves, Vikram slowly withdrew the hand he was preparing to use to draw his weapon, staring at their somewhat flustered faces.
"Misunderstanding... Brother, you’ve misunderstood. We just accidentally found this resource point."
"Seeing that there were no zombies outside the factory, we originally wanted to collect some resources to take back, but who knew there were so many zombies inside."
"The four of us are not very strong, so we just hid and didn’t dare to act rashly."
The man in charge and the two men and one woman beside him all waved their hands; they didn’t seem to be lying.
"Um... are you friends also here to collect resources?"
After explaining to Vikram the reason for their prolonged absence, Lucian asked.
However, Vikram didn’t want to answer the other party’s question. After collecting the corpses on the ground, he turned and prepared to leave.
"Hey! Wait."
"You brothers are so skilled, I wonder... Can we explore this resource point with you?"
"Of course, our strength is not as good as yours, so we’ll only take a small portion of the resources we get..."
"No."
Without waiting for him to finish his request, Vikram heard the words ’together’ and answered without hesitation.
"..."
"Damn it, these little bastards! They’ve already taken so many supplies in such a short time, they’re not leaving anything for us."
Among Lucian’s four-person team, who were quietly following behind Vikram, one round-faced man clenched his fists and gritted his teeth.
"Let’s make our move quickly. If they just leave, we’ll have nowhere to cry."
Another male survivor, seeing this, couldn’t hold back and urged in a low voice.
"What’s the rush? They haven’t reached the right position yet. If we fail later, it’ll be both your faults, right?"
Lucian, annoyed by the constant urging in his ear, glared at the two of them.
However, when Lara spoke, Lucian immediately changed his expression.
"Lucian, you’re a grown man, and it’s one thing to ambush them, but you’re so wishy-washy. If you’re going to do it, do it quickly, or I’ll go down and find them myself."
"Alright, alright, whatever you say, Lara. Just ahead of them is where the most Mutated Zombies in the entire factory are located."
"As long as we alert those guys, these arrogant Survivors are guaranteed to die here and spit out their supplies obediently."
"Just watch me."
Looking at Lara, who wasn’t giving him a good look, Lucian instead wore a fawning smile.
This disgusting, ingratiating look made the other two male Survivors visibly disgusted.
But Lucian himself didn’t care what they thought, nor did he care if Vikram’s position would be noticed by those zombies; a slingshot had already appeared in his hand.
Although this was just an ordinary slingshot, it was considered the most powerful weapon that ordinary Survivors like them could get their hands on.
Combining its craftsmanship and quality, its power might not match an alloy composite bow, but it could easily outperform an ordinary hunting bow.
Aiming at Vikram and his group’s position, Lucian pulled the slingshot string back as far as it would go, then slightly released his hand.
"Whoosh!"
The loaded steel ball shot out, cutting through the air, heading straight for Vikram’s group.
Vikram, who was further down, had been paying attention to the movements behind him.
Almost the instant the steel ball shot in that direction, Vikram reacted immediately.
He dodged and leaped a large step forward.
However, this time he had misjudged; the target of this steel ball was not him, but a steel plate beside him.
The steel ball, shot by Lucian with maximum force, made contact with the steel plate in an instant.
"Thud!"
A huge muffled sound suddenly rose, followed by echoes bouncing back in the confined space.
"Buzz~ Buzz~"
When he turned his head to look behind him, the figures of the group had already disappeared.
The biological detection feedback showed that they hadn’t gone far, they had just found a place to hide.
But the loud noise made by the steel ball was like a giant rock falling into water, stirring up layers of huge waves.
A bunch of familiar movements immediately appeared around them.
"Hoo~"
The footsteps of zombies and the sound of claws scraping rapidly approached from the direction of the steel plate where the sound had just come from.
Before Vikram could find and kill those Survivors, a dozen Mutated Zombies had already appeared before his eyes.
Seeing Vikram and his group surrounded, Lucian, hiding in the dark, wore a cunning smile and, as if seeking praise, raised an eyebrow at Lara behind him, saying, "See, Lara? I told you they were dead for sure."
"They just got lucky; the zombies they killed all dropped crystals, which is why their physiques are higher than ours."
"Actually, they’re not that formidable at all; they’re not worth your attention, Lara."
"Look, if you replace the ordinary zombies with Mutated Zombies, aren’t they still helpless?"
However, just as he turned his head to give Lara what he considered a handsome smile, Vikram had already dealt with this small trouble in just a few moves.
For the Druids, Mutated Zombies deal with it even faster than the Vikram.
