Chapter 188: Take care of my son
"You kids might want to close your eyes. It’s going to get rough from here."
Roland said to the children, but it didn’t seem like they were going to miss out on the action.
Justice meted out on the evil guys needed to be seen in full.
The two guys didn’t even know how it happened, but Roland appeared in between them, just a foot apart, and then broke their legs for starters.
They both fell on their faces with their broken legs but Roland did not stop there. He kicked them in their bellies, not leaving a single one, including the guy he had punched first.
With a glance, he could already see what Olivia and Josh were suffering from. He would make sure to met out the same punishment before these guys met their end.
But before he could met out the punishment, Noah arrived, and then Alyssa. They arrived nearly the same time and Alyssa’s eyes fell on the children in the cage.
Noah too. He saw the curtains and then the clue came to mind. Behind the curtain where the sun never shines. They were right.
The dark place, the cage, the cloth wrapped over the cage... It all fit the clue.
If only they knew what it meant sooner.
"Oh no!" Alyssa gasped in fright and immediately rushed to where the kids were on the floor.
Noah shifted his gaze and then he saw his daughter. The stench of her blood was so sharply and freshly oozing in the air.
Seeing this, his blood raged.
But before long, more people related to the kidnapping stormed in, holding teasers.
There were about fifty of them. It looked like the ringmaster was taking action and wanted to seal the lips of everyone involved, including the kids.
"Those bastards!" Alyssa gritted her teeth with sheer hatred.
In her arms were Olivia and Josh in his cub form. They needed to be treated right away but Roland didn’t have his kit with him.
"Alyssa," Noah called, taking off his coat and getting serious. "I’m entrusting the kids in your hands." He said, his eyes fixed on the guys who wanted to use the teasers on the kids. "Get them here right away and get the police. The other kids will follow shortly."
"Yes... Yes sir." She nodded and then leaped from the ground she was standing on, into the air, and then used the heads of the men as stepping stones till she got to the exit, twisting a few of their necks in the process to met out her hatred and frustration. "I’ll be back soon, sir."
As she ran out, Josh, who felt he had finally gotten out of danger, eased up and he transformed back into his human form.
She sighed in relief because it looked like she could take them to the ambulance now.
But as she was about to bolt forward, she saw Steven. His aura burned in fury above his head.
He saw his child in Alyssa’s arms and his eyes raged. Alyssa stumbled a bit, hoping he wasn’t so blinded by rage that he couldn’t tell she was on his side.
But luckily, his rage wasn’t directed at her.
He walked past her, saying,
"Take care of my son." He was ready to go in and crack some skulls. He would definitely get to the bottom of this and destroy the mastermind.
Alyssa nodded and bolted away at full speed.
She needed to hurry. The children were in a critical situation.
As she ran, she came across Michael who was trying to follow after Noah with the police behind him.
It was a good thing he was nearby but as soon as Michael saw the condition Olivia was in, he fainted. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
No, he didn’t faint but he nearly fainted and had the help of the police behind him to help him back to his feet.
He couldn’t look. It was too much. It was just... He began to cry.
His darling daughter.
Why did this happen to her?
"We’ll have to save the other kids, so please get them to the ambulance outside and the police can come with me." She said and Michael nodded.
He held the children with shaking hands.
One of the police men decided to go with him so he wouldn’t fall on the road. He seemed unstable.
Alyssa began to return but she returned slower than she got away from the tent because the police men were only human and wouldn’t be able to keep up with her speed.
Meanwhile, in the tent, Noah made it his duty to protect the rest of the children. Since Olivia was no longer there, he could concentrate on that.
He made sure all the kids were in the cage to avoid them getting caught up and asked them to stay away from the iron bars, so that if the teasers touched the bars, they wouldn’t be affected by it.
But then there was the issue that the floor was also made of metal, connected to the cage’s bars.
So, his mission was to make sure none of it touched the bars. He also told them to close their eyes, not wanting them to see the gruesome and violent situation in front of them that would later give them nightmares.
And in this situation, Steven walked in, his rage burning the tenth and suffocating the enemies.
He looked like their worst nightmare.
"You guys are responsible for what happened to my kid, huh?" He stretched his hands, grabbed the heads of the two who were rushing towards him like flies, and then slammed them together. "I’ll make sure you all pay."
He wasn’t bluffing. This father was out for blood.
And before long, the only thing left of the kidnappers were their unconscious and broken bodies on the floor.
"Is this all of them?" Steven asked. "We need to make sure to clear them all out."
Roland looked around. Steven did most of the cleaning, as well as Noah, so he was able to observe. Whenever they wanted to escape, they would try to run back in the direction they had trooped in from.
And then there was that dried blood stain on the floor. It must’ve been from someone.
If they followed the bloodstains, they would be able to get to where the perpetrator of this act was.
"Follow the blood trail," Roland said and Steven looked at him.
What blood trail? His expression asked.
"The one on the floor. The mastermind must be there." He said, and Steven wasted no time going in that direction. Noah looked at the surroundings and then at the kids.
"Is anyone hurt?" He asked and they raised their head, trembling.
But they shook their heads regardless, since no one was hurt.
"Good." He turned to Roland. "I’ll leave the kids in your care," he said. "Escort them safely to the front, and leave the rest to us." With that, he followed after Steven.
Roland stood there and then looked at the kids in the cage.
Such innocent kids had to go through that.
Maybe he should rethink his decision about having kids. He’d never want to go through this sort of anxiety ever.
No matter how careful they were, this accident still ended up happening.
It was a nightmare.
"Okay kids, it’s time for you to go back and meet your parents." He said. "It’s okay now."
He opened the cage and the kids cried.
Finally, they were saved. It was such a nightmare.
They wanted to hurry up and see their parents.
Roland watched them cry and this uneasy feeling filled his chest. He held way more empathy than he realized.
Then, a guy who had been pretending to be unconscious, stood up, determined to at least take down one of them.
The kids saw this and quickly told Roland, though it was too late.
"Hero, behind you!"
But Roland didn’t exactly need the children’s warning to know someone was trying to bush him.
He swung his leg and sent the guy flying with a swift kick and then stood like nothing happened, wishing he at least had his cigarette in his hand.
The kids saw this and were filled with awe. He was amazing.
"Now, let’s get you all out of here." He said and the kids started trooping out. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Then, the police arrived.
Seeing the bodies on the floor and the kids that were being led out of the cages, it seemed like the problem had been resolved but... Did this man resolve it on his own?
"About time," Roland exclaimed and then met Alyssa’s eyes.
She was filled with relief but the strain from this incident remained in her eyes. Worry, fear, frustration, and anger. They were all evident in her eyes.
"It’s fine now," he said, as if he had heard it from her mouth. He placed his hand on her head and said, "There’s no more danger, Alyssa. So rest easy now."
Hearing this, she bit her lips and then clutched his shirt, bowing her head as she cried the tears she couldn’t cry.
She was so scared. Not just for Olivia, but for all the innocent kids who got dragged into this incident. It was just too much.
"Thank goodness." She said, and he stroked her hair, putting her at ease.
"Yeah, it’s a relief."
