Chapter 26: [26]: The Law of Execution, Infinite Mobility

Levi didn’t even care.

His health pool was sitting at a massive 1,020 HP. Taking one point of damage a second felt like a slight breeze against his Obsidian Carapace. He casually opened his menu and toggled his [Siphon Aura] on.

His mana began draining by 2 points a second, but a bright green [+15] immediately popped up, instantly erasing the environmental damage and keeping his health perfectly topped off. With his newly expanded 400 Mana pool, he could keep the aura running for over three minutes straight without even needing a potion.

"Time for a test drive," Levi said, cracking his knuckles.

Down at the base of the volcano, the massive packs of Level 20 Ashen Ghouls were still shuffling around in the gray dirt. They dragged their rusted iron chains, completely unaware that the player who had been farming them earlier was now an entirely different breed of monster.

Levi ran the combat math for his new stats.

He was Level 15. The Ghouls were Level 20. The 5-level gap meant he was still dealing with a flat 25% Level Suppression penalty.

’Ghoul Defense is 70,’ Levi calculated in his head. ’My scythe ignores 15% of that. That leaves them with 60 effective Defense.’

He checked his new Attack stat. 246 Total Attack.

246 minus 60 Defense meant his raw damage per swing was 186. Now, apply the 25% suppression penalty. 186 multiplied by 0.75 resulted in exactly 139 Final Damage per basic strike.

And for the AoE,’ Levi continued, ’246 Attack times 1.8 for Reaping Arc equals 442 raw damage. Minus 60 Defense leaves 382. Apply the 25% penalty, and I’m hitting for 286 Final Damage.’

He gripped his silver scythe. The dark, shadowy class aura flared around the jagged blade. He looked at a cluster of three Ashen Ghouls about forty yards away. Each of them had 2,500 HP.

"Let’s see how broken this really is."

Levi kicked off the ash-covered ground.

His Speed stat was now sitting at a ridiculous 63. He didn’t run; he practically glided. He closed the forty-yard gap in less than three seconds, moving so fast the game’s physics engine barely had time to kick up dust behind his boots.

The three Ghouls shrieked and whipped their heavy iron chains at him.

To Levi, the attacks looked like they were moving underwater. He effortlessly ducked under the first chain, swayed his torso to avoid the second, and didn’t even bother dodging the third. The heavy iron links smacked directly into his Obsidian Carapace.

His massive 1,020 health bar barely twitched, and his Siphon Aura instantly healed 15 of it right back.

Levi stepped dead center into their formation and dumped 10 Mana.

"Reaping Arc!"

The scythe carved a massive, horizontal wave of dark red energy through all three Ghouls.

The sheer impact staggered the heavy undead monsters. Levi didn’t stop moving. He picked the Ghoul on his left and unleashed a blindingly fast flurry of basic attacks. Because of his 63 Speed, his swing timer was incredibly short. He landed five basic strikes in less than four seconds.

Combined with the 286 from the skill, the Ghoul’s health bar plummeted to exactly 480 HP.

Levi’s eyes tracked the health bar perfectly. 480 out of 2,500 was exactly 19.2%. It was below the 20% execution threshold.

"Soul Harvest," Levi commanded.

He felt a heavy chunk of 50 Mana drain from his pool. Suddenly, the shadowy aura around his scythe violently detached itself and materialized into a massive, spectral, pitch-black scythe floating in the air above the Ghoul.

The spectral scythe didn’t swing; it just slammed straight down like a guillotine.

It cleanly decapitated the Ashen Ghoul. There was no damage number. The monster’s remaining health just instantly vanished, and the Ghoul shattered into blue polygons.

[Movement skill cooldowns reset.]

Levi glanced at his skill bar. The 15-second timer on his Phantom Step instantly vanished, flashing green to indicate it was ready for use.

"Oh, that is absolutely disgusting," Levi laughed loudly.

He didn’t waste a millisecond. He targeted the second Ghoul, which was currently winding up a heavy chain slam.

"Phantom Step!"

Levi burned 20 Mana, dissolving into dark shadow and bypassing the slam entirely. He reappeared directly behind the second Ghoul. He dumped another 10 Mana for a Reaping Arc.

[-286]

He wove his basic attacks flawlessly, his scythe a blur of silver and shadow. The 5 DMG/sec bleed from his weapon constantly ticked down on the monster’s health.

The moment the second Ghoul’s health bar dipped below 500, Levi cast Soul Harvest again. Another 50 Mana vanished. The massive spectral guillotine materialized, slammed down, and decapitated the monster.

[System Notification: Target Executed.]

[Movement skill cooldowns reset.]

Levi immediately chained it again. Phantom Step directly to the third Ghoul. Reaping Arc. Three basic slashes. Soul Harvest execution.

In less than twenty seconds, all three Level 20 Ghouls were deleted from the server. Levi hadn’t even broken a sweat. The combat loop was so fluid, so insanely aggressive, that the mobs’ basic AI didn’t even know how to react.

He checked his Mana bar.

Starting from 400, he had burned through roughly 250 Mana chaining those executions and teleports, plus the ambient drain from Siphon Aura. He was sitting at 150/400.

"It’s a mana black hole," Levi observed, pulling a top-tier mana potion from his belt and chugging it. "But the clear speed is worth every single copper coin."

With his potion ticking to restore his fuel, Levi turned around and looked at the sprawling ash plains. There were hundreds of Ashen Ghouls wandering around.

"Let’s see how fast I can clear this entire zone."

For the next five hours, the base of the dead volcano became a scene out of a horror movie for the NPC monsters.

Levi moved like a grim reaper on fast-forward. He didn’t run between targets; he just teleported, executed, and teleported again. He bounced across the plains in a chaotic, jagged pattern, leaving a trail of decapitated blue polygons in his wake.

His massive 1,020 health pool and Siphon Aura meant he didn’t care if he got hit by a random chain swing. He just ate the damage and kept executing.

The XP yield was astronomical. The 30% underdog multiplier for fighting mobs five levels higher meant he was pulling in thousands of experience points a minute.

He burned through almost his entire supply of expensive mana potions, but the Ghouls dropped enough silver coins and junk items to easily cover his operational costs.

After five uninterrupted hours of flawless, repetitive chain-executions, the familiar golden pillar of light finally crashed down from the dark sky.

[System Notification: Level Up! You are now Level 16.]

Levi executed one final Ghoul with Soul Harvest and then stopped. He toggled off Siphon Aura, enjoying the sudden quiet as the rushing wind and clanking chains faded away. The immediate area around the volcano was completely empty. He had temporarily wiped out the entire zone’s spawn capacity.

He opened his status menu. He had 5 new free stat points to allocate.

His damage was absurd. His speed was already breaking the game’s targeting systems. The only thing slowing down his infinite teleportation loop was his mana pool. He needed more fuel to keep the chain-executions going longer without having to stop and drink potions.

He assigned all 5 stat points to Intelligence.

His INT stat bumped from 35 to 40. His maximum Mana instantly expanded from 400 to 450.

Levi nodded in satisfaction. He had the power, he had the mobility, and he had the sustain. He closed his UI and looked toward the horizon.

It was time to head back to the city, spend some of his hard-earned gold, and prepare for the Level 20 dungeons.

The game wasn’t going to break itself.
