Chapter 18: Alicia’s POV [Part-4]

After entering the room, Alicia washed up and changed into a simple dress. She tied her hair in a ponytail so it would not disturb her while working.

She walked toward the kitchen to prepare something for him.

"Mhmm... So what should I make for him? I remember he liked roasted chicken and spicy food from my past life... And he also liked mushroom pasta, steamed dumplings, vanilla pudding, fried chicken, shrimp fried noodles, and various other things..."

"Which food should I make so that he will just fall for me after eating? Ummm... Let’s just make all the things he likes!"

Alicia wore the cute bunny apron and started working in the kitchen with practiced ease.

"Hehe... It is good that I worked hard learning how to cook in my past life. At least he won’t be disappointed by my cooking."

She started making different types of dishes, wiping sweat from the heat as she worked hard to prepare everything. Several hours passed by before she was finally done.

"Sigh... Finally... I am done cooking. Should I call his phone? No, he might just refuse me if I call him. Let’s just go visit him and invite him to dinner."

Alicia walked back to the room after washing her face. She walked out toward the boys’ dormitory through the corridor.

After walking to the far left side of the academy, she finally reached the building, but she began to hesitate.

’How am I going to call him? He might get startled if I suddenly knock on his door and ask him to come to have a dinner with me...’

’Sigh... Forget it. I will just wait for him here until he comes out to go to the cafeteria.’

She walked toward a nearby bench and sat quietly.

’Oh, I remember... He will definitely hesitate to go to the cafeteria because of the morning incident. My Alden wants to stay out of trouble. It is good I planned this dinner then. He might not run away, at least not at the sound of free food.’

’I know even though he might be uninterested in many things, he is still very fond of good food. That is the exact reason I learned cooking for him... Hehe... it will at least be useful in this life.’

Just as she was talking to herself, she saw a figure walking in the corridor heading toward the cafeteria path. She quickly stood up and started walking toward him.

He stopped for some reason, and Alicia walked up behind him.

’Aww... He looks so cute. Is he thinking about me? His body looks better than before for some reason...’

As Alicia walked up and tapped his shoulder, she didn’t realize she was standing too close to him. He looked back at her with a surprised face. Alicia stood still, almost losing her composure.

Before she could say anything, he stepped back, keeping his distance.

"Alicia, do you need something?"

Alicia calmed her beating heart, looked at him, and said calmly, "Let’s have dinner together."

He looked startled at her suggestion and prepared to refuse.

Alicia started walking before he could say no.

"Follow me."

As she led him to the girls’ dormitory, she noticed his constant gaze from behind. He tried to look away, but his eyes were flicking toward her every few seconds. She didn’t mind it. In contrast, she was very satisfied with this development.

She had deliberately tied her hair so that he would get attached to her. It was all part of her plan.

After reaching her dorm building, she could see his nervous look as his gaze flicked toward the front desk clerk.

’How gentlemanly of you, Alden. You are worrying about doing something wrong to me? Hehe... You should be wary about me doing something to you instead.’

After going inside the room, she told him to sit at the dining table. She left for the kitchen and started bringing out dishes after quickly heating them with her magic.

She could have used the oven to do that, but it would have taken quite a bit of time. She didn’t want to waste time heating food when she could spend it staying beside him.

As she walked out bringing the different dishes she had made, she could sense his awe-struck expression. She felt happy just watching him enjoy staring at the food.

When he started digging into the food, she also took her part. She only ate the dry vegetables and the fruit juice. She was on a diet currently. She didn’t want to look like a glutton, or he might not like her.

’He looks so happy eating the food made by me... I wish I could feed him with my own hands... Sigh... It will take time, but I will do it soon anyway.’

"Alicia... may I ask, why did you suddenly invite me for dinner? I don’t remember us ever meeting before, and we are not yet familiar with each other, are we?"

Alicia looked at him at his sudden question. She remained quiet for a few seconds as she ate her food.

"Let’s talk about the rest of the stuff after dinner."

She busied herself with eating.

’Sigh... What reason should I give him now? I just called him in a casual sense. I have no special reason to call him for dinner except that I wanted to see him.’

’Sigh... Let’s think about that later.’

After the dinner was over, she walked inside the kitchen to wash the mountain of dishes. She sighed, feeling it would take quite a while to wash, wasting time she should have spent with him instead. But still, work comes first, even before love.

Just as she was beginning to wash, Alden, who was sitting on the couch quietly, came toward her.

"Alicia, if you don’t mind, let me do the dishes. You worked so hard to make the dinner, so let me clean up."

Alicia looked at him calmly and answered,

"No, you should rest. It’s okay, I will do this stuff."

Suddenly he stepped toward the washbasin.

"No, you made such a tasty dinner. I shouldn’t make you work harder. At least let me do the dishes."

"No, it’s alright, I can do—"

"No, just keep your mouth shut and let me do it."

He pulled the plate from her hand, took the scrub, and started washing the dishes himself.

’Wait... Did he just...? Did he just order me?’

A slow, imperceptible smile tugged on her lips as she looked at him starting to wash.

She suddenly remembered something. A playful look appeared in her eyes, which she hid well, as she brought out a pink apron with a cute teddy bear picture.

She blackmailed him to wear it.

She looked at his flushed face and hesitation. But he still wore it, not wanting to make her work alone.

’Hehe... Now I have taken my revenge for ordering me around.’

As he was busy working, she also joined him.

"You should go now and rest..."

’Oh, don’t be so kind, Alden. I might just lose control and jump on you right now if you continue like this.’

"No, I will help you with drying. I promise I will keep my mouth shut."

She started to focus on drying while secretly glancing at him, while he was busy in his own thoughts.

’I feel like we are a married couple already... The only thing left is that you don’t actually know my feelings.’

’Should I just confess to him? Will he be startled and run away? No, my Alden will not run away. Should I seduce him in the room? Well, that is not a bad idea... He might even fall for me... hehe... Let’s go with that then.’

After washing the dishes, Alicia sent Alden back outside while she prepared the tea.

As she made the tea, she brought a Sleeping Potion from her storage ring and poured it inside Alden’s cup as she served it.

’It is just for safety reasons. So that, even if the situation goes wrong, you won’t run away.’

She walked out, placed the tea down, slid it toward him, and took hers. She finally looked at him.

’His face looks so handsome with messy hair and crimson eyes. I could just stare at his eyes for days without getting bored.’

"You look good today..."

*Cough!* *Cough!*

Alden suddenly choked. He almost spilled the hot tea as he forcefully swallowed. He was shocked by her sudden words. His face turned red instantly. He tried to hide it, but it was useless.

Alicia sat calmly with a composed demeanor as she continued.

"I mean to say, your health looks well today. Your body does not look as frail as before..."

’Hehe... Hit the spot. It seems he still has a weak heart if he gets embarrassed by just a few compliments.’

Alden felt more embarrassed as he composed himself and answered.

"I think it is because of the food you made. It was genuinely so tasty, and I seem to have eaten like a glutton. I don’t think I even have to eat anything for a week."

Alicia’s eyes sparkled at his words. She drank her tea gracefully as she crossed one leg over the other.

"Thank you for the compliment, but it was nothing."

’Hehe... It seems he genuinely likes my food. I will make food for him for my whole life if he wants it. In exchange, you just have to be mine.’

As she composed herself, she finally looked at his face again. He looked rather comfortable compared to before. He didn’t look as distant as earlier.

Her heart began to beat faster.

’Should I just propose to him now? Will it really be okay? What would happen if he rejects me again? No, I will not let it happen... Let’s just confess now. I don’t have to wait anymore.’

She put down the teacup, built all her confidence, and looked at him.

"So, about your question regarding why I called you here, it is quite simple. The reason I called you is because I wanted to tell you that..."

"I like you—"

*Knock!* *Knock!*

She turned back toward the door. Her eyes turned freezing cold at the sudden interruption.

’Who the f*ck came to disturb my time with Alden? Whoever this is, that person will definitely die by my hands.’

She stood up and opened the door, ready to kill whoever it was.

But after opening the door, she paused. The girl was none other than that bright-eyed bitch, Sarah. She was her childhood friend too, and her first unwanted friend, which Sarah had forcefully made the relationship with her. But whatever, she was a useful tool for her plans as the daughter of an SS-ranker.

As Sarah bounced and hugged her while talking about this and that, Alicia felt a massive headache, but she still bear it for a moment.

Alicia refused her request to meddle in their time together.

Sarah’s gaze finally fell on Alden.

Alicia felt her control almost slip away. She almost froze Sarah on the spot. But she calmed down quickly as Sarah finally agreed to leave.

"Alicia, he seems to be quite a cold and aggressive type. You should be careful not to let him bite you too hard, or it might leave a mark..."

As Sarah walked away after saying this, Alicia paused for a moment. A small, imperceptible smile tugged on her lips, which contrasted her intense gaze. She felt her face warmed at the thought of Alden being aggressive with her, but she quickly calm down from the dilusion.

’Oh? You are talking about aggressiveness? Oh, dear Sarah, you don’t know how innocent he is from inside, even though he might look like a villain outwardly. He is just a fragile thing I need to take care of, until he will take care of me when the time comes.’

She walked back toward him and saw his unconscious form. A slight disappointment came into her eyes at the thought that her confession failed because of that annoying girl.

She sat on the sofa, bringing his head onto her lap.

’You know, Alden, I should have used a different potion rather than a Sleep potion. It would have been more exciting then... Hehe...’

Time passed by as she sat there, stroking his hair and looking at him with unwavering obsession. Like she would do anything to preserve this peacefulness.
