Chapter 4: Petite Librarian

Duke Alfric stared at him for a longer moment than needed.

"Eren, I heard what you did back at the academy, do you have any explanation for that?" He asked in a cold tone that could freeze Eren. "You almost killed Reinhardt with your bare hands, now his father was on my neck demanding an apology."

Eren’s blue eyes widened, bringing back memories before his blackout. After Reinhardt tried to sneak attack on him after getting embarrassed, Eren barely dodged that aura slash and attacked him in an adrenaline rush. A small smile spread on his face. Well, proud of himself.

Eren thought for a moment before answering.

"I’m sorry, your Grace," he said, lowering his head slightly with the most sincere expression he could manage. "I’m sorry for all the troubles I’ve caused you and our family’s name, I truly made some mistakes that can’t be redeemed and I’ll work for that. But I can’t apologize for what I did to Reinhardt Hoffman. He deserves it for attacking a guardless opponent who already accepted his defeat."

For a second, the Duke looked like he wanted to throw the ink bottle on his son’s head.

"Deserved?" He yelled. "You broke two of his ribs and dislocated his shoulder in under ten seconds. The entire academy is saying you went berserk like a mad dog. His father, the Grand Duke of the North, is demanding your head on a silver platter."

Eren leaned back on his chair with his hands crossed, showing his father how changed he was now.

"To be fair, Father, if someone tries to stab me in the back after I surrender, I’d consider that a pretty unreasonable. I was raised by you, after all. Volsver blood doesn’t exactly say ’turn the other cheek,’ does it?"

Duke couldn’t answer that, he knew exactly what had happened. But, what he was witnessing was something he never expected: his son apologizing for all his actions, and not once throwing a tantrum the whole time. If he knew hitting his son’s head would change him, he would have done it a long time ago.

Alfric nodded to his answer, although he was proud for the first time, he couldn’t show it.

"Alright, I’ll deal with Reinhardt’s father personally. He’s not someone we can ignore, but I won’t let him touch you. And the academy... had sent you a suspension letter for three months for causing trouble to the next saintess candidate. You will be confined to the estate for these three months. Use this time to reflect on your actions and change your behavior. If you cause any more trouble outside, even I won’t be able to protect you next time."

’Three months?!’ Eren screamed internally. ’My princess is at the academy right now! The main story is going to start progressing without me! All the events, all the routes — I’m going to miss everything! How the hell am I supposed to admire my princess from afar if I’m stuck in this damn house?!’

He forced a smile to remain calm.

"Y—Your grace... is there a way to revoke my suspension? I know I caused too much trouble, but three months seems too excessive."

Duke looked straight in his eyes and turned back to the sheets on his table.

"No!"

The answer is immediate, indirectly telling him to get the hell out of the room.

Eren felt utterly defeated. Three months trapped here while the otome game plot moved forward without him. It’s painful.

"I understand. But..." he muttered in a softer tone. "Can I visit my sister Liora? It’s been days since I visited her. And also, I want access to the library."

Alfric is stunned, unable to utter a word. Eren could literally read his expression.

As his business concluded, Eren closed the door behind him as he left the Duke’s study, walking through the hallways with his own thoughts.

’Fuck me and my life.’

Being stuck in the home for three months is one thing but he couldn’t even get out of the house without Duke’s permission.

Well, there’s only one way he came up with— curing his newfound sister, Liora Volsver. She had an incurable disease called "Mana hyper-accumulation syndrome." The person’s body produces more mana than the person’s limit, which makes them fall into permanent sleep.

Well, Eren is lucky. He already knows how to cure as he completed the game and studied the lore deeply and the good thing is he was an expert in electronics and according to this body’s memories. this world’s mana machines are not much different from it.

All he needs now is one person who could help him with the cure and he’s currently on his way to her— library.

"Good thing the game is still in its second act. She hadn’t left for the Academy’s librarian post yet."

The librarian, Norelia, was from a low-level noble family. She was born with insane mana capacity and was extremely talented in mana engineering. But the thing is—she was notoriously lazy, stubborn, and completely uninterested in helping anyone unless it benefited her directly. Even the heroine had to go through ridiculous lengths just to get her to cooperate in certain routes.

"I should bribe her to get my work done somehow," he muttered as he opened the library door.

Too quiet.

He walked up to the librarian’s desk only to find it was empty. No sign of her.

"Tch. Of course, she’s slacking off somewhere," he muttered. "Lazy genius my ass..."

He sighed and looked up to the second floor of the library. He needs the glimpse of magical engineering theory anyway, it’s better to look at it until she comes back. He headed to the quiet corner of the second floor where the advancements of magical engineering books were kept.

As he walked deeper into the section, something caught his ear.

"...Nn..."

A soft muffled sound.

He froze, wondering if he was just imagining things or if there was a ghost. He wants to leave it, but curiosity kills the cat and the cat here is Eren.

He took a step forward slowly towards the sound,

"Ah...mhh..."

He heard another sound. It’s clear he’s not imagining, maybe this library is haunted?

Eren quietly moved toward the sound. He stopped in front of a tall bookshelf, carefully slid out a thick book, and peeked through the gap.

His neurons activated upon watching the scene happening there.

A petite girl was on the floor in the nook between shelves, leaning against one shelf, with her skirt bunching up as her legs were wide open. She was shivering as her fingers slowly rubbed between her legs while holding a book in the other hand.

Her face flushed with pleasure, her lips shivering, letting out an addictive little moan.

Of course, the old way of porn—smut books.

Well, he found the person he’s looking for.

He should leave the place ethically, but he wasn’t. His entire focus on her, not noticing that thick book slipped from his hand.

Thud

It hit the floor with a loud sound in the dead silent library and the girl’s eyes snapped open. Her hazy, pleasure-drunk gaze met his blue eyes directly through the gap in the bookshelf.

For three full seconds, neither of them moved. Can’t move actually

’...Well, shit.’
