Chapter 108: Meditating In My Sleep
The next morning, Selvara arrived at the training ground as usual, but after waiting for a moment, she still did not see Damian appear.
Usually, even if Damian looked half-dead, he would still crawl over while complaining about pain, mercy, and how elders were born without hearts.
But today, he was not here.
Selvara’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Without saying a word, she directly disappeared from the training ground and appeared in front of Damian’s room. Then she opened the door without hesitation.
Selvara stared at the empty bed for a few seconds before her eyes became even colder. "That brat."
Without wasting another moment, she turned and walked toward the courtyard where Damian’s disciples lived.
When she arrived, she finally found him.
In the middle of the courtyard, Violetta was sitting under a tree, quietly cultivating while holding her flute.
A soft, gentle melody flowed from the flute, spreading through the courtyard like clear water.
Around her, spiritual Qi moved in slow waves, gathering and sinking into her body with perfect rhythm.
Selvara also noticed that Violetta’s aura had clearly changed, meaning she had already broken through to the Foundation Establishment Realm.
And Damian, the one she was looking for, was really daring enough to sleep peacefully on Violetta’s lap.
For a moment, Selvara did not know what to say.
In the end, she could only mutter coldly, "Damn. What a disciple."
Meanwhile, Violetta slowly opened her eyes when she felt Selvara’s presence.
She immediately stopped playing and bowed her head slightly. "Grandmaster, good morning."
Then she glanced down at Damian, who was still sleeping without a care in the world. "Do I need to wake Master up?"
Selvara looked at Damian’s peaceful face and grinned a little. "No need. Just slowly put his head on the ground for now."
Looking at her grandmaster’s grin, Violetta knew that her master would not escape unscathed.
Unfortunately, she could not help him, so she could only obediently nod. "Yes, Grandmaster."
She carefully lifted Damian’s head from her lap, moved aside, and gently placed his head on the ground.
Damian only shifted slightly and continued sleeping.
Selvara looked at him with an expression that seemed to say she was slowly losing patience with life itself.
Then she turned her attention back to Violetta. "Congratulations, Violetta. You have reached the Foundation Establishment Realm."
Violetta stood properly and cupped her hands. "Thank you, Grandmaster."
Selvara nodded faintly. "Although you are not a sword cultivator, and you are also not following a side path like alchemy or blacksmithing, you are still Damian’s disciple and my grand-disciple."
She took out a token and handed it to Violetta. "Take this with you so you can move around the sect freely as my grand-disciple."
Violetta accepted it with both hands and bowed respectfully. "Thank you, Grandmaster."
Selvara glanced once more at Damian on the ground. "As for him, let me handle him. How dare he still sleep this late?"
Violetta only smiled softly as she stepped back. "Yes, Grandmaster. I’ll take my leave and walk around the sect."
Selvara nodded, letting her go. "Have fun."
---
Damian was sleeping peacefully.
For once, there was no sword pressure crushing him, no cold voice telling him to stand properly, no terrifying training sword flying toward his face, and no elder trying to beat common sense into his bones.
There was only soft grass beneath his head, a quiet breeze, and the rare feeling of not being tortured.
In Damian’s dream, he was lying on a mountain of spirit stones while beautiful women stood around him, calling him a peerless genius, a righteous hero, and the greatest master in the world.
But suddenly, one of the beauties beside him raised her hand. freewebnσvel.cѳm
Her face slowly changed.
Damian blinked when he saw it. "Wait a minute..."
Her hair turned silver-white, her eyes became cold, and her gentle smile disappeared, replaced by an expressionless face.
Basically, she turned into Selvara.
In an instant, Damian was so shocked that he cursed. "The hell? How can you be here...?"
The next moment, thanks to his shock, his dream collapsed, and a cold voice suddenly appeared from above. "Still sleeping, huh, my handsome disciple...?"
Damian quickly opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw was Selvara standing over him with a faintly dangerous expression.
For a second, his mind went blank.
Then he immediately sat up so fast that his neck almost cracked. "Master! I am awake."
Selvara looked down at him calmly. "Awake, huh? Why don’t you sleep more..."
Damian coughed. "No, Master, I am not sleeping. I was... meditating. Yeah, I was meditating in my sleep."
Selvara’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Damian immediately changed his words. "I mean, yes, Master. I slept well. Very well. Too well, maybe. So I don’t need to sleep anymore."
Selvara stared at him.
Damian felt his back become cold.
For some reason, being stared at by Selvara was even worse than being chased by a Golden Core elder.
At least Morven Kraal had shouted before attacking. Selvara’s silence felt like his punishment had already been decided.
Damian quickly stood up and dusted off his clothes. "Master, I can explain."
Selvara frowned slightly. "Explain what?"
Damian froze. "Uh... explain why I was sleeping here?"
Selvara looked at him. "I already know why."
Damian blinked. "You do?"
Selvara’s gaze moved toward the path Violetta had left through. "You were too tired after training, came here, teased your disciple, then fell asleep on her lap."
Damian’s mouth twitched.
For some reason, hearing it said out loud made it sound much worse.
He quickly waved his hand. "Master, that was not intentional. I only wanted to accompany her because Vulkara wasn’t here. Then my body betrayed me."
Selvara said flatly, "Your body betrayed you?"
Damian nodded seriously. "Yes. My will was strong, but my body was weak."
Selvara stared at him for another few seconds before turning around. "Come on. Tidy yourself and follow me."
Damian’s face stiffened. "Master... is it another training session? Please don’t be so hard today."
Selvara did not stop walking. "No. Today is not a training day."
The moment Damian heard that, he immediately straightened his back and grinned.
After all, those words sounded like heavenly music. "I see. If that’s the case, where are we going then?"
Selvara said calmly, "To the Sect Master’s place."
Damian raised an eyebrow. "The Sect Master’s place? Why do we need to go there?"
Selvara glanced back at him. "The Sect Master’s youngest disciple has returned from a mission."
Damian was a bit surprised to hear that.
For some reason, he had a bad feeling about this.
