Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Xue Buhuan
Although Xin still refused, he was clearly starting to waver.
Shen Daoxing continued to help out while subtly trying to persuade him.
They kept at it for a while longer.
Xin paused for a moment before finally relenting. "Alright, I’ll help you persuade my grandpa. But he’s very stubborn, so I don’t know if I’ll succeed."
With that, he skipped toward the house, but he had only taken a single step.
Elder Mu’s voice came from inside the house. "Don’t waste your breath. I’m not going to agree to your request."
Shen Daoxing and Lv Yunsheng exchanged a helpless glance.
For the next few days, Shen Daoxing and Lv Yunsheng continued to come and help Xin.
From start to finish, Elder Mu was impatient with Shen Daoxing and Lv Yunsheng. This was true even when Shen Daoxing brought him tea and meals every day.
Elder Mu’s attitude remained as stubborn as ever, without the slightest change.
Xin’s so-called Divine Martial Cannon failed after several tests. Clearly, trying to power a Magical Artifact without a Martial Artist’s Spiritual Power was a fool’s errand.
One day, they ran out of rice. After being repeatedly urged by Elder Mu, Shen Daoxing had no choice but to go to the West Street Market himself to buy more.
Outside, Lv Yunsheng couldn’t help but complain, "That damn old geezer is a real piece of work. We’re just asking for a ride, and he won’t even do that. What a cheapskate."
However, the words had barely left his mouth when the wooden door creaked open, and a giant hammer came smashing out.
Lv Yunsheng jumped in fright and quickly stammered, "No, no, no! Elder Mu is benevolent and magnanimous! A true paragon of virtue for our generation!"
Only then did the flying hammer slowly come to a halt.
Lv Yunsheng took a step forward and reached for the hammer, only to start hopping mad and cursing again. "Pah! Pah! Pah! Benevolent and magnanimous, my ass! You’re a cheapskate, a damn cheapskate!"
But then, with a WHOOSH, another giant hammer flew out of the house and smashed right on top of Lv Yunsheng’s head.
He grimaced in pain.
Xin, who was standing to the side, couldn’t stop laughing.
"Mu Yiheng, get out here!"
Just then, a cold, sinister voice suddenly rang out from nearby.
Lv Yunsheng turned to see a group of men with sinister eyes striding toward them menacingly.
The newcomers all wore white robes, each embroidered with a large character for "Business."
The leader of the group was extravagantly dressed in fine robes and leather shoes, adorned with silk, jade, gold, and silver. He constantly fanned himself with a paper fan.
Seeing the newcomers, Xin’s little brow furrowed. He clearly didn’t like these people.
"My grandpa said his Cloud Ship isn’t for sale."
Xing stepped forward and said with disgust.
The leading Noble Young Master Hua glanced at Xin and snorted. "Scram! You have no right to speak here."
With that, he kicked out. Xin cried out as he was sent flying, landing hard on the ground with a THUD.
Lv Yunsheng was shocked. He rushed forward to help Xin up. "What do you think you’re doing?"
Noble Young Master Hua completely ignored Lv Yunsheng, his cold gaze fixed on the wooden house. "Mu Yiheng, get out here! Or we’ll burn this hovel to the ground today."
CREAK!
The door of the wooden house opened, and Mu Yiheng emerged, leaning on a cane.
"I’ve told you before. No matter what price you offer, my Cloud Ship is not for sale!"
Mu Yiheng said coolly to the visitors.
"Hmph."
Noble Young Master Hua snorted. "Mu Yiheng, as for your Cloud Ship, you’re selling it today whether you like it or not! We’ve given you plenty of time. We’re done playing games with you!"
Mu Yiheng’s eyes turned cold. "What? Is the Business Alliance planning to rob me in broad daylight?"
"So what if we do? Do you still think you’re the fifth-rank Artifact Refining Master of old?"
The corner of Noble Young Master Hua’s mouth curled into a contemptuous smirk as he looked at Mu Yiheng.
As he spoke, with a SNAP...
...the folding fan in his hand opened. He raised it and fanned it gently forward.
A cyan-colored light blossomed.
In the blink of an eye, a fierce gust of wind shot forth, kicking up all the sand and dirt in its path.
"Hmph. I may have been a fifth-rank Artifact Refiner in the past, but do you think all my years of training were for nothing?"
Mu Yiheng snorted, raising his iron hammer and slamming it down.
Cyan light scattered as the fierce gust of wind shattered, and everything went calm.
But when the gust of wind dissipated, Noble Young Master Hua was nowhere to be seen.
"Old man, it’s about time that crippled body of yours was six feet under!"
Just then, Noble Young Master Hua’s voice suddenly rang out from behind Mu Yiheng.
Mu Yiheng was aghast.
Noble Young Master Hua had already raised his fan and brought it down hard.
BANG!
The next moment, Mu Yiheng spat out a mouthful of blood as he was sent flying.
Clearly, having lost a leg, Mu Yiheng was no match for the nimble Noble Young Master Hua and his agile Body Technique.
After just a few exchanges, Mu Yiheng was severely injured again and again, his already frail body growing even weaker.
"Die!"
Noble Young Master Hua roared as he brought his paper fan down with terrifying force. A cyan light, wrapped in a gale-force wind, erupted.
"PFFT..."
Mu Yiheng spat out a mouthful of blood as he was sent flying once more, crashing heavily to the ground.
Seeing this, Lv Yunsheng rushed to stand in front of Mu Yiheng. "You bastard! What kind of man bullies a child and an old man?"
But when Lv Yunsheng saw the fan in Noble Young Master Hua’s hand, he was stunned. "That’s the Flowing Fan! You’re Xue Buhuan, the eldest son of the Business Alliance’s Grand Elder Xue?"
Although the Business Alliance wasn’t as powerful as the Celestial Profound Sacred Land, it was still a major force active in the East Continent. The one in charge of their operations in Ancient Moon City was Grand Elder Xue Changfu. Xue Buhuan was his eldest son, an expert at the Ninth Layer of the Grotto Heaven realm and only a single step away from the Spirit Transformation realm. Furthermore, he was a genius ranked tenth on the Martial Arts Ranking.
Xue Buhuan looked at Lv Yunsheng and said coldly, "So you know who I am. And you still want to meddle? Get lost. Or are you planning to be their champion?"
Instantly, Lv Yunsheng felt an immense pressure wash over him. His entire body froze as if encased in ice, and he couldn’t utter a single word.
Then, Xue Buhuan ignored Lv Yunsheng and turned his cold gaze back to Mu Yiheng. "You old fossil, hand over the Cloud Ship."
"Hmph. Xue Buhuan, you might as well kill me. I’ll die before I hand that Cloud Ship over to you."
Mu Yiheng lifted his head, his expression resolute. "I’ve already got one foot in the grave anyway. I’m not afraid to die!"
"You..."
Xue Buhuan’s expression instantly darkened.
"You’re courting death!"
Xue Buhuan roared, and with a wave of his fan, he sent another gust of wind flying.
But this gust didn’t fly toward Mu Yiheng. Instead, it shot toward Xin, wrapping around him and lifting him into the air.
With another flick of his fan, Xue Buhuan drew the gust of wind—and Xin with it—into his grasp.
Then, with a sinister look in his eyes, Xue Buhuan grabbed Xin by the neck and lifted him into the air.
Xin struggled to breathe, his face turning red as his feet kicked helplessly in the air.
"Mu Yiheng, tell me where you’ve hidden the Cloud Ship. If you don’t, I’ll strangle him."
Xue Buhuan stared coldly at Mu Yiheng.
