Chapter 1890: Chapter 1889: Earth Cave Demon Spider

"A gentleman’s word is as reliable as a team of horses. Let’s make an oath with a handshake."

Li Feng looked at Ouyang Qiuhai, who stepped forward and raised her hand. He lifted his hand, and Ouyang Qiuhai voluntarily shook hands with Li Feng.

"The oath is made, witnessed by so many. If you break your promise, Heavenly Dao will not tolerate it."

Ouyang Qiuhai had a conspiratorial smile on her face, convinced the Demon Clan wouldn’t dig a single pit. With that said, she turned and approached Sikong Yu, who looked speechless.

"Sister Yu, are you mad at me? I had no choice but to act this way. Don’t worry, I don’t plan on snatching your man."

Ouyang Qiuhai pulled Sikong Yu’s arm, acting coy.

Sikong Yu was at a loss for words: "Am I worried about you snatching someone from me? I’m afraid you’ll end up empty-handed after your scheming, losing both man and treasure."

Ouyang Qiuhai pouted: "I can’t be that unlucky, can I? Even if they are arrogant, these Demon Clans would leave themselves a retreat, right? They intend to cause trouble for the Vermilion Bird."

Sikong Yu shook her head: "You’d better hope the Demon Clan thinks the same."

Ran Yue also walked over to Li Feng and whispered: "You haven’t taken a liking to her, have you?"

Li Feng rolled his eyes.

"What are you thinking? This has nothing to do with liking or not. Don’t you think I can swallow all the stuff I’ve procured?"

"The mystical Ice Lotus, using it directly is wasteful. It’s best refined into Elixir Pills to achieve perfect medicinal properties and reduce many side effects."

"Previously, when I shared some petals with you, you might think nothing of it. But don’t forget where we are—the Molten Lava Cave has a scorching temperature, unbearably hot, so consuming the Ice Lotus petals prevents you from feeling a cold chill."

"It’s because the petals contain a frosty chill that counters the heat toxins here. I’ve given you only a fraction, so you hardly feel anything; rather, it brings comfort in the heat."

"In normal conditions, consuming even one petal incurs significant cost, potentially life-threatening if one’s strength is lacking. Only by refining it into pills can such risks be mitigated."

"Ouyang Qiuhai’s aunt is the Xinglin Elder, which may be useful later. As for the Golden Bone she wanted, I planned to give it to the Nine Layers Mountain."

"Hmm, give it away, why?"

Li Feng looked at Ran Yue and said, "Because I need a backing, and I need to establish myself in the Ancestor Dragon Army."

Upon hearing Li Feng’s response, Ran Yue didn’t question further. She knows well; everyone desires good things for themselves.

But she understands it’s wise of Li Feng to act this way; the old saying ’the innocent with jade attracts danger’ is timeless. Moreover, in Ancestor Dragon City, Li Feng isn’t vilified by all, but in high society, he stands at the bottom.

Even if Li Feng displays exceptional talent, it’s hard to change the entrenched opinions of the aristocratic families.

This time, their departure from Ancestor Dragon City was partly due to the Vermilion Bird’s call, but mainly because of Li Feng’s struggles in Ancestor Dragon City. Even joining the Nine Layers Mountain, he couldn’t change the situation.

Li Feng may defeat many and even trample upon the Zeng Family, but it doesn’t suffice since the true elite families barely notice.

But Li Feng’s rise has caught some attention, and his circumstances have thus turned perilous.

Li Feng sensed this risk, prompting his decisive leave from Ancestor Dragon City, for there, he couldn’t break the deadlock.

Venturing out can temporarily mask the conflicts; there’s also a chance to gain greater strength through an opportunity outside.

As the former Dragon King, Li Feng understood a crucial truth: relying on oneself is far better than relying on others.

Outside, though not invincible, he could go anywhere with the Dragon Guards, daring to challenge anyone.

But here, Li Feng had to tread carefully, as many are far stronger than him.

Leaving the Duel Arena before nearly being killed by a blade was a striking reminder of his rapid growth but it’s not enough.

Li Feng’s response was not only for Ran Yue but also for Shadow, Lei Ba, and others to hear.

Li Feng was not one to forget loyalty for attraction.

As for this gamble, Li Feng couldn’t care less about the outcome, as he would gain in any case.

He even hoped the Demon Clan would set some traps, wishing to forge ties with Ouyang Tianshu, not Ouyang Qiuhai.

Creatures in the cave were numerous, as the chaotic Great Maze had been uncontrolled for two hundred years. The creatures within weren’t managed, plus prior trials had long ceased. Although occasional Sikong family members visited, they didn’t clear much.

The Sikong family even failed frequently during explorations, partly due to the increase in cave creatures.

Shadow was still scouting ahead; Li Feng and others moved steadily without hesitation. With the Demon Clan leading the way, there was no worry of getting lost.

As they progressed, the passage ahead began to have more spider silk, with remnants of Earth Cave Demon Spider corpses left at times.

These Demon Spiders weren’t large, about basketball-sized, seemingly not formidable. Along the road, corpse numbers were striking.

"Camp Master, there’s a discovery ahead."

Shadow appeared swiftly to report.

"Oh."

The group quickly traversed the passage to reach its end, then saw a massive cave chamber resembling a huge arena, immense and spacious.

Inside the chamber were glowing mosses emitting faint light, letting the interior appear dimly to everyone.

The chamber had multiple passage openings on all sides, seemingly a major node within the Underground Maze, with over a dozen layers vertically alone.

Below, the staircase platforms were scattered with countless spider eggs, the smallest basketball-sized, in astonishing numbers.

From the lowest part of the chamber came waves of hissing, accompanied by foul, bloody odors.

Using the faint moss light, they glimpsed roughly at the chamber, but the bottom where noise emanated was pitch black, showing vague moving shadows.

Li Feng frowned slightly, concentrating fire in his palm, then waved it down. The fireball fell like a flare, emitting bright light, illuminating the chamber’s depth.

"Hiss."

Li Feng inhaled sharply.

The others around him were equally startled, faces turning pale as they looked at the dense pack of Earth Cave Demon Spiders below.
