Chapter 1873: Chapter 1872: Path of Zhu Rong

Not only was Sikong Yu curious, but the others also looked at Li Feng with curiosity.

Li Feng didn’t hide anything, and simply recounted his encounters and experiences. The little white snake rolled its eyes; he was simply too unlucky.

Surrounded by so many Ant Race members, yet he could still jump into the volcano and escape, it’s truly good people don’t live long, but disasters last for a thousand years.

Everyone was astonished upon hearing Li Feng’s experiences, exclaiming that he could still escape; he truly had a big fate.

"What’s the situation with the Demon Clan?"

Li Feng thought about the escaped Demon Clan members and asked. Sikong Yu exhaled, "It seems a Demon Clan team infiltrated here ahead of us."

"Bi Fang led me here before, and we discovered traces, but these Demons were not coming for us; they were directly heading to the Underground Cave, likely searching for Vermilion Bird’s whereabouts."

"Previously at First Line Sky, the actions of the Ten Demon Hall were very unusual, indicating the Demon Alliance is stirring again."

"And to attack Ancestor Dragon City, as allies of Ancestor Dragon, the Four Holy Beasts are very crucial. Last time, the Four Holy Beasts played a critical role in the battle."

"So now, if the Demon Alliance wants to ignite another war, they will surely target the Four Holy Beasts first. Despite the battle two hundred years ago, Ancestor Dragon City has still not recovered."

"Anyhow, back then, there was the Vermilion Bird Holy Temple here, and a group of Vermilion Bird Guards primarily composed of human cultivators."

"Back then, the cultivators from Ancestor Dragon City could enter here to obtain their fortuitous encounters, but now, the Vermilion Bird Holy Temple has been closed for over two hundred years."

"And as you’ve seen, the Northern mountain pass is almost sealed by the Ant Race, while the Demon Clan can brazenly appear here, indicating Vermilion Bird’s situation is unclear."

"I fear Vermilion Bird may be reborn from ashes and hasn’t hatched yet, which would be a big problem."

Sikong Yu didn’t want to speculate recklessly, but as a Vermilion Bird family, it’s revealing many issues that the Sikong Family hadn’t established contact with Vermilion Bird for over two hundred years.

This is why she insisted on this journey, and the Demon Clan appearing here is likely also inquiring if Vermilion Bird has been reborn into an egg, and if that’s the case, Vermilion Bird would be absent from the battle.

Losing a Holy Beast is not good news for the Ancestor Dragon City’s side, as the balance would be completely unfavorable.

Because only the highest combat power can counterbalance each other, allowing a confrontation or war between the two sides. If the top combat power is imbalanced, there’s no need to fight.

Facing absolute power, all resistance is futile.

Li Feng raised an eyebrow upon hearing Sikong Yu’s words, as Vermilion Bird calling him in his mind might not be as simple as he previously thought.

Perhaps Vermilion Bird is not at its peak, and calling him here is not to inherit the bloodline and reopen the Vermilion Bird Holy Temple.

But rather, to ask him for help.

Li Feng shook his head, discarding these thoughts: "Until Vermilion Bird is found, everything is just speculation."

"But since the Demon Clan has sent people, they cannot be allowed to stay."

"Let’s go down first, and then act accordingly."

Li Feng said.

Sikong Yu nodded, and the others followed Li Feng’s lead, having no objections, and immediately headed into the cave.

This cave corridor was very spacious and deep inside. In this dark environment, Shadow moved freely, dispatching Shadow Clones as scouts to explore the path ahead.

Moments later.

Shadow suddenly appeared beside Li Feng: "Camp Master, the clone has explored the end of this cave, and found no traps or ambushes along the way."

"And at the end, there’s the volcano’s mouth, inside which seems to have a spiraling stone staircase winding downward."

Shadow relayed its observations to Li Feng.

Li Feng acknowledged briefly, then looked at Sikong Yu.

"That should be the necessary way to the Underground Cave, known as Zhu Rong Path, carved into the volcano’s inner wall, with its final entrance located at a cave above the magma. This Zhu Rong Path is thousands of meters vertically downward, increasing in temperature as you descend."

"Back then, this was also one of the tests; additionally, this molten lava volcano housed some spiritual beasts that could live in magma and would disrupt us as we descended."

Sikong Yu explained slowly.

It’s known, that back then, this molten lava volcano was where the Vermilion Bird Holy Temple was, and to enter the Holy Temple, one had to overcome multiple hurdles.

They previously passed only three surface obstacles, with more checkpoints ahead, like the Fire Qilin’s test at the cave entrance before Zhu Rong Path. After passing Zhu Rong Path, one reaches the Great Maze’s ground entrance.

The Great Maze in the ground was the final hurdle; only by passing through could one complete all tests, and upon completing all tests, there was a chance to see the Holy Beast Vermilion Bird.

After that, you could ask Vermilion Bird for a wish, and if Vermilion Bird could grant it, it would be fulfilled, like wanting to merge with the Vermilion Bird Bloodline.

Of course, merging the Vermilion Bird Bloodline wasn’t simple; it was like life or death, and those who could successfully merge were extremely rare, otherwise, the Sikong Family wouldn’t have thrived.

But back then, there were still countless challengers.

After all, even without the bloodline merger, Vermilion Bird as a Holy Beast would casually offer treasures akin to heavenly treasures, benefitting endlessly.

Despite Vermilion Bird being dormant for over two hundred years, the tests left behind weren’t completely abandoned; the Fire Qilin checkpoint lacked a guardian, but Zhu Rong Path remained a naturally formed obstacle, serving as a significant challenge.

It’s unknown what the condition of those spiritual beasts surviving in the volcano is now, whether extinct or otherwise...

Zhu Rong Path.

Li Feng murmured softly, and after half an hour had passed, the group traversed the cave. Ahead, the cave entrance was no longer enveloped in darkness; the crimson light reflected in and brought a rolling heat wave.

At the cave’s end, exiting out led to a platform of a hundred square meters area.

This molten lava volcano was the tallest of the molten lava land’s volcanoes; raising your head to look at the sky, you couldn’t see the top. They were currently in the volcano’s middle, looking down; the height was at least several thousand meters.

The volcano’s inner circle spanned at least tens of kilometers wide, and below, the volcanic mouth was practically a large lake of magma.

The magma bubbled continuously, releasing scorching energy, but the magma lake wasn’t devoid of life.

On the inner ring’s volcanic wall, vines clung, with roots embedded in the magma lake, and there were fire element plants, like Fire Lotus, in abundance.

Li Feng also saw the Zhu Rong Path mentioned by Sikong Yu.

The Zhu Rong Path consisted of vine stems adhering to walls and protruding rock formations forming steps.

In some places, it stuck to the volcano wall; in others, it was completely suspended, with the magma lake below. This entire Zhu Rong Path wound around the volcano’s inner circle approximately three times, each having a vertical drop of two to three kilometers.

There were very few overlapping sections; jumping straight down wasn’t realistic.

Following Zhu Rong Path downward, the three circles cumulatively equaling a marathon distance, even though tens to hundreds of kilometers were nothing for cultivators, this wasn’t an ordinary road.
