Chapter 589: I Can Replace Wendy

When they were out of the elevator, Christian had arranged for a car.

"You can’t get in my car," Christian said. "You can follow behind. But if you get in my car, the odds become risky for me. It is only me against the two of you. How could I possibly outfight you?"

"No way. I need to be in the same car as Wendy," Michael said.

"I said no, and I mean it." Christian was determined, and there was no room for negotiation. "Anyway, my actions are closely monitored by you. What are you afraid of? I can’t get away with Wendy in this situation, can I?"

Wendy was in his hands, and he had control over how he wanted things to go.

Michael had no other choice and could only say yes to his requests.

Other than the driver, the car only had Christian, Wendy, and Zen in it. Zen’s injury was severe. She could not summon any strength to even retaliate. Although Wendy was not injured, Christian could easily restrain her.

"Wendy, don’t be frightened. I will save you very soon," Michael comforted Wendy.

"When we get to the heliport, he will let you go."

Wendy nodded. She said, "Michael, arrange for a doctor to go to the heliport too.

With Zen’s condition, she can barely survive for more than ten hours."

The only place Christian could go was Rheinsville City. That was his home ground.

"Okay, I will arrange accordingly. Don’t worry too much."

Christian became impatient and reached over to wind up the car window. He told the driver coldly, "Drive off!"

Seeing the car drive away, Michael immediately got into the car behind and followed closely behind Christian.

After forty minutes or so, the car finally reached Christian’s heliport. Christian already had everything prepared, and the helicopter was ready to take off. The doctor Michael arranged for was also there.

"You should release Wendy now," Michael said as Christian alighted from the car with Wendy still restrained.

"I have not boarded the helicopter. How can I ensure that I would be able to leave safely?" Christian had the knife on Wendy’s neck the whole time as he inched towards the helicopter. "Get Zen up first."

Michael clenched his fists. He ordered his men to help Zen and the doctor up the helicopter. When Zen got into the helicopter, her eyes widened when she saw the person who was already in there. Zen turned her head and wanted to glance at Wendy, who was outside the helicopter. But when she did, she was knocked on the back of her head and became unconscious.

"I have already done as per your request. The helicopter is just behind you. Let Wendy go!" Michael shouted. Christian shoved Wendy towards the helicopter, and the people in the helicopter pulled her in swiftly.

Wendy disappeared from Michael’s line of sight, and Michael raised his gun at Christian instantly. "Christian, you lied to me!"

"Don’t worry. I will make my words count," Christian said cunningly as he stood at the entrance of the helicopter. He looked down at Michael and said, "But did you forget that I have one more request?"

Michael knew what Christian had meant. He wanted one of Michael’s legs.

"This time, if I follow your request, will you let Wendy go for real?" Christian had been manipulating Michael the whole time, but he could not counter back.

Christian smirked and nodded.

Michael did not pause to think. He pointed the gun at his left thigh, and without blinking, he pulled the trigger.

"Michael!" Evan did not expect Michael to shoot his leg without any hesitation. What kind of love did he have for Wendy to be able to sacrifice to this extent?

"Hahaha... " Christian clapped, satisfied by Michael’s act. "Brother, you love Wendy very deeply indeed. I shall return her to you then."

...

Having shot his leg, Michael could not stand any longer and fell to the ground. Evan rushed over to support him when he saw Michael fall.

"Are you out of your mind? How can you shoot yourself?" Evan was worried about Michael as blood kept streaming out of the wound. After all, they had established rapport since they worked together. It startled Evan when Michael pulled the trigger and shot himself in his leg.

"I am fine." Michael took a deep breath as he tried to endure the pain. He looked towards the helicopter and shouted, "Let Wendy go immediately. You have to honor your words, Christian!" Christian laughed as he turned and went into the helicopter.

Within a few seconds from being pulled into the helicopter, Wendy saw Zen lying unconscious on the floor. She wanted to check on Zen but was held back by two men. freёwebnovel.com

"Zen... " Wendy called out to her, but there was no reaction from Zen. Wendy struggled to free herself but to no avail.

"What happened to her? What did you do to her?" Wendy turned sharply to Christian, who was walking in, at that moment and questioned him.

Christian did not reply to Wendy. Instead, he glanced at the other woman in the helicopter and said coldly, "Your turn to shine."

"I have waited so long for this moment. Finally, the day has arrived." The woman laughed heartedly as she looked at Wendy. The next moment, she walked to Wendy and reached over to undo her clothes.

Wendy was dumbfounded when she saw the woman. "You... you... " Wendy stared at the woman in disbelief and was too stunned to say anything.

"If you don’t want to get hurt, I suggest you be cooperative with me." The woman smirked slyly as she fumbled with Wendy’s clothes.

"What are you doing?" Wendy gripped onto her clothes and turned her body away from the woman, not giving the woman a chance to undress her.

The woman got frustrated, and her smile disappeared. What was left was an enraged and cold expression. She raised her hand and slapped Wendy hard on her cheek. The force from the slap left a bright red hand imprint on Wendy’s face.

"You... " Wendy wanted to say something, but the woman raised her hand again. Only this time, her hand was stopped mid-air by Christian. Christian gripped her hand and swung her hand away. He said, "Get down to business."

The woman held onto her wrist where Christian had grabbed her and spoke like a spoiled princess, "You should be gentler to women, you know?"

"Do away with your snobbishness. Michael won’t fall for that. We have done so much for this day. Don’t let it go down in flames with your horrible acting."

"Christian, that is not a fair statement. What makes you think that Michael will see through my acting?" Changing her tonality, the woman scoffed with a hint of aloofness and frowned slightly, "I will have you know that I can replace Wendy easily."

Christian looked at the woman and nodded. He seemed satisfied, "Now that is about right."

Wendy looked at both of them as they conversed. She asked, "What are you planning exactly?"

"You will know very soon." The woman smiled and said, "Take off your clothes yourself. Don’t force me to get rough with you again."

"You both... " Wendy had guessed what their plan was. She shook her head as she stepped back. Instinctively, she ran towards the window. She had to let Michael know about their scheme.

...

Just as Wendy took the first step towards the window, Christian caught her by her arm.

"Michael, they... " Wendy shouted the two words out of the window before Christian covered her mouth with his hand. Wendy did not have the chance to finish her sentence.

Michael heard Wendy’s voice. He turned instantly to look towards the helicopter. The helicopter had not taken off yet, but it had been a while since Christian went in.

"Wendy!" Michael shouted anxiously, "Are you okay?" There was no reply from the helicopter. "Christian!" Michael shouted again at the helicopter. "If you don’t release Wendy now, we will launch our attack!" Still, there was no reply at all.

Afraid that Wendy was in trouble in the helicopter, Michael endured the pain in his thigh and raised his gun at the helicopter. He pulled the trigger as a warning to Christian.

The gunshot served its purpose. Christian did not want to delay further. He reached over to Wendy to take off her clothes and said at the same time, "Everyone, turn your backs!" He would not let these people see Wendy unclothed. Wendy wanted to struggle, but she knew she would not be able to fight off Christian. And beside her were two bodyguards. If Wendy was to put up a fight and make any sounds, they would restrain Wendy instantly. It would not help Wendy in any way.

"If you resist any further, I cannot guarantee that the infant in your womb will be able to survive what is to come," Christian threatened.

The threat worked on Wendy. That was something she feared as well. Now that she was in the hands of Christian, she had no choice but to abide. With no other solution coming to mind, she gritted her teeth as she said, "I’ll do it myself."

Christian took her word for it. He took a step back and put the clothes prepared for Wendy to change into beside her. "Okay, change out into these."

Wendy took a deep breath. Turning around, she removed her clothes and swiftly put on the clothes given to her. When she was done, the other woman quickly changed out of her clothes and got into Wendy’s clothes. She stood in front of Wendy and ran her hands through her wavy chestnut brown hair, which was styled the same as Wendy’s. She laughed and said, "From today onwards, I shall become you."

With that, she turned to get down from the helicopter. But Christian pulled her back.

The woman frowned, "What are you doing?"

Christian took the knife he had with him and promptly slit her neck with it. Blood oozed out instantly. The woman let out a cry of pain and screamed, "Christian, what was that for?"

Christian tossed the knife out of the helicopter. He looked at Wendy’s neck and said coldly, "Such a dumb woman. I wonder how long you can stay by Michael’s side without being discovered."

Looking in the direction of Christian’s gaze, the woman saw the wound on Wendy’s neck and realized she had been careless earlier. She took a deep breath and tried to manage the pain. She scoffed, "Just you wait." The woman got out of the helicopter.

"Wendy... " Seeing Wendy coming out of the helicopter, Michael forgot about his wound and wanted to walk over. But with his injured leg, the action aggravated the wound and he fell to the ground in pain.

"Michael... " ’Wendy’ rushed over and helped Michael sit up. Sounding worried and anxious, she said, "Why are you so silly? Is it painful? Is it really worth doing this for me?"
