Chapter 489: Mommy And Daddy Have Forgotten About Us
It was a long flight, so everyone gradually went on with their own business after chatting briefly.
Mr. York and Michael were taking care of work matters, but only those that did not require the internet. After all, there was no internet connection during the flight.
The two children gradually fell asleep after playing. The cabin slowly went quiet.
Wendy was busy handling HG Enterprise, so she had not designed anything for some time. She held her pen and frowned as she kept her eyes on the paper thinking about her design. After some time, she was still unable to come up with anything good. She had been at it for hours, but she was unable to come up with anything satisfactory.
Michael looked at Wendy as he worked and saw the pieces of paper strewn all over the floor. He bent over and picked up one of them. He opened it and frowned slightly at what he saw. He did not see any problems with the design. In fact, it was pretty good.
Michael looked at Wendy. She was looking serious. Michael did not dare disturb Wendy, so he quietly continued with his work.
Wendy sighed. Since she had no inspiration, nothing looked right to her. She unwittingly looked out of the window. She looked into the distance and saw white fluffy clouds. In the background, at the edge of the clouds, she could see some pink.
The sea of clouds looked pure white and the pink clouds looked rosy and warm. This combination gave off a distinct visual impact. Wendy had never seen clouds looking like this.
She had taken flights in her life, but she never took the window seat or looked out of the window because of her fear of heights. She did not expect the scenery outside the plane to be so beautiful. Wendy’s eyes automatically lit up.
She instinctively leaned towards the window in an attempt to check out the scenery more closely. The sky was blue with white clouds. The sunlight bouncing off some of the clouds made them look rosy. It was ethereal and brilliant. Wendy could not help smiling at the sight.
She seemed to have some inspiration now. Wendy quickly picked up her pen and drew rapidly on the paper.
"Wendy, are you not afraid of heights?" Michael saw Wendy staring out of the window for a long time and felt surprised.
Wasn’t Wendy afraid to even take the Ferris wheel? How could she dare to look out of the window?
"Be quiet!" Wendy said seriously and was clearly annoyed. No one was allowed to disturb her. She had just gotten inspired, so she had to draw it out immediately.
Michael covered his mouth and did not dare to speak further. Judging from how excited Wendy looked, Michael knew she must have gotten a stroke of inspiration.
Michael felt pleased as well. Wendy was genuinely terrified of heights. But she forgot that she was on a plane. She forgot about her fear of heights and simply took in the breathtaking sight outside the window. It had yet to dawn on her that she was high above the ground, so she naturally forgot about her fear of heights.
The clouds and scenery kept changing as the plane kept on flying. As time passed by gradually, the previously brightly lit sky turned to dusk.
Wendy had been observing the changes and was putting them to paper. freewebnøvel.coɱ

The plane landed after they arrived at Lake City.
Michael saw Wendy drawing with her head bent. She was still deep in concentration on her designs so he was unsure about telling her that they had landed. He decided to only let her know after the plane had come to a complete stop. However, Wendy continued working even when it was time to disembark.
"Mommy..." said Leah as she walked up beside Wendy and called to her, "Mommy, we have landed..." Before Leah could finish her sentence, Wendy said without even looking up, "I’m almost done."
Leah wanted to say more, but Jake pulled her back with his little hands. No one dared to disturb Wendy while she was working on her designs. Even after the plane had already landed for an hour, they were still waiting inside the cabin.
Just as Michael was about to doze off, Wendy finally stopped drawing. She held the piece of paper excitedly as she went through her designs before turning to look at Michael to ask, "Take a look at these. What do you think?"
Michael instantly stopped feeling sleepy when Wendy spoke to him. He took the paper from Wendy and immediately praised her, "Excellent. You are the best designer in the world."
Wendy found frowned. She looked at Michael and said, "Could you get more patronizing than that?"
"I wasn’t!" Michael studied her designs seriously, his eyes gleaming. Although he knew nothing about designing fashion apparel, Michael could tell that Wendy’s work was unique and gorgeous.
There was a dress on the piece of paper. Its torso was white with minimalistic cloud-patterned border stitches running around it. Its lower half consisted of an asymmetrical skirt with twilight-colored cloud-shaped border stitching. The dress had an elegant air to it.
The second outfit was corporate wear designed in the same cloud theme. It had cloud-shaped borders on the edge of its sleeves. It had a matching ribbon hanging from its collar bone which complemented the outfit. This outfit exuded minimalism and confidence.
The first dress gave off an elegant aura while the corporate suit would be popular with professional women.
Since Michael was not in the fashion industry, he could not offer any professional opinion and could only say, "It’s really nice. I’m sure these will be a hit."
Wendy was pleased with Michael’s reaction. She said excitedly, "I was inspired when I saw the clouds outside the plane. For now, I have designed two outfits, but I intend to come up with a total of nine outfits for an entire line of clothing. I’m going to call it ’In the Clouds’."
"In the Clouds?" Michael nodded his head in agreement since he liked its name.
However, he quickly frowned and shook his head. "Can you call it something else instead of ’In the Clouds’?"
"Why not?" Wendy was puzzled. She felt that the name had a nice ring to it.
Furthermore, her inspiration had indeed come from the clouds she had seen earlier.
"Todd always had a thing for clouds..." said Michael solemnly.
"Well..." This problem did not dawn on Wendy at all. She had picked the name purely because she got inspired by the clouds.
"Let’s see. What else can I call it?" Wendy was unable to come up with some other name right away.
"Heavens? Cloudland?" Wendy frowned as she pondered over the alternatives and did not like how they sounded.
Michael was at a loss as well. It seemed the original name Wendy had decided on was perfect. ƒreewebɳovel.com

"Never mind. Why don’t you just stick to that?" Michael said, "It doesn’t make sense to avoid this name simply because it has something to do with Todd."
"Are you okay with it now?" asked Wendy quizzically as she looked at Michael.
"Did you deliberately pick that name in memory of Todd?" asked Michael.
Wendy shook her head immediately. "It never once crossed my mind."
"Then it’s fine," said Michael rationally. "Just design whatever you want and use whatever name you please."
Wendy laughed when she realized he meant what he said. "Michael, you are so good to me."
"Is that all?" Michael reached out and held Wendy by the shoulder and said, "Shouldn’t you come up with a name for our company?"
"Our company?" Wendy did not quite realize what he was talking about. "Is MC Enterprise changing its name?"
"What were you thinking?" Michael smiled. "You have already come up with the designs, but you do not want to work with MC Enterprise. Doesn’t that mean you have to establish your own brand and company?"
"Do you mean that you want to help me start a fashion line?" asked Wendy.
"Of course. No matter what you need, be it funds or connections, you can count on me," said Michael confidently.
"Hang on. Our company..." Wendy finally realized what he was talking about.
"Don’t tell me you plan on being a major shareholder?"
"If I am putting in such a huge investment, it is only fair for me to have some shares, right?" Michael had no intention of taking up stakes in the company and was simply teasing Wendy.
"You must have planned this all along! If you become a major shareholder, this company is as good as yours. I don’t see the point in setting up my own company."
Wendy argued. "In that case, I do not want your investment. I’ve been doing this for years. I don’t see why I will have trouble looking for investors for my brand."
"Are you sure you don’t need my help?" asked Michael as he laughed.
"I do not want it."
"I hope you don’t regret this."
Jake held Leah’s hand as they glanced at each other. Leah’s face crumpled as she griped to her older brother sadly, "Mommy and Daddy have forgotten about us."
"From now on, I will take care of you. I’m sure they are bound to forget us one day," said Jake sourly as he held Leah’s hand tightly. Even though Jake and Leah were their children, they felt jealous.
Zess and Mr. York were walking right at the back as they smiled at the scene unfolding before them.
After they got off the flight, they took a car and went back home.
Wendy had worked during the flight for several hours, fully focusing on her designs.
She was now feeling exhausted as she came home to her familiar surroundings.
Even though it was just afternoon, Wendy washed up and went to bed. Since the children had already slept during the flight, they did not feel as tired. Michael had worked during the flight too, so he decided to go to sleep with Wendy since he was tired as well.
Wendy and Michael woke up at midnight. They were both so hungry that their stomachs growled. They had woken up from hunger. They looked at each other.
Wendy then said softly, "Zess and the others ought to be sleeping now. Shall we go out and get some supper?"
