Chapter 463: You Know The Consequences
Jill looked at Timothy in silence. She couldn’t stand still and fell back a few steps.
It was Wendy who reached out and held her up.
"No matter what, it has nothing to do with you. Get out of my sight right now!"
Timothy was angry.
He never told his wife and daughter about these shady deals.
However now they knew it all.
Timothy couldn’t face them and pointed to the door. "Rosa, get Jill out of here and don’t ever come back."
Timothy wanted Rosa and Jill to leave together.
Unfortunately, neither Rosa nor Jill moved.
"Leave? That would require our consent too, Timothy. You’re not treating us like we don’t exist, are you?" Michael said in a threatening voice.
Timothy knew that Wendy wouldn’t threaten him with the safety of Jill and Rosa.
Michael, on the flip side, was more than capable of doing it.
Since Michael and Timothy did not have a deep relationship.
As far as Michael was concerned, Timothy was Christian’s guy, which meant they were complete enemies.
Michael gave a wink, and two of the bodyguards blocked the office entrance.
Todd saw what was going on and got a little panicked.
He stepped forward and waved his hand, signaling for the bodyguard to move out of the way. "What are you guys doing?"
The bodyguard did not move. He ignored Todd.
"Corrine, you can’t do this..." Todd said as he walked over to Wendy.
"Timothy’s wrongdoing should not involve anyone innocent, should it?"
Before Wendy could speak, Michael reached out and took Wendy by her hand.
Michael pulled her behind him and stood in front of her, blocking any eye contact between her and Todd. Michael tilted his head slightly and said, "Mr. Lewis, I don’t need you to teach me how to do my job."
What Michael meant by that was to tell Todd that he was handing out the orders.
"Michael, you can’t go too far." Todd said, "Timothy is indeed in wrong. I did not interfere nor refuse whatever I was asked to do, did I?
However, Rosa and Jill were unaware of it from the beginning to the end, so you went too far by targeting them."
Timothy snickered at Todd’s words. "What’s with all the hypocrisy here now?
Ridiculous."
"I..." Todd did not do anything wrong but he did betray Timothy.
Todd was speechless when confronted with Timothy’s words.
"See Mr. Lewis, no one appreciated your kindness," said Michael.
Wendy stood behind Michael, and she knew that Michael was not wrong to do so.
A time like this was really was not the time to get emotional.
Thus she remained silent.
Michael saw that no one said anything, so he looked around and finally focus his attention on Timothy.
Michael waved his hand while looking at Timothy. He ordered his bodyguards, "Get Jill and Rosa under control."
The two women were soon under the control of the bodyguards.
"Michael, you dare to use such underhanded tactics too, you coward!"
Timothy said mockingly. "If you’re a man, come at me! I will be known as a coward if I ever resist or ask for mercy!"
"Isn’t this Timothy who rather die than give up the safe?"
Michael said coldly, "I don’t want your life. I just want the safe.
Since, you, Timothy, are not afraid of death, I can only use the people that you care about the most to force you to talk.
If your wife and daughter can’t get you to talk, then I admire you, Timothy, for being a ruthless and heartless man."
...
After Michael finished speaking, he signalled his bodyguards and they immediately grabbed Jill and Rosa by their hands and tied them behind their backs, so they couldn’t move at all.
Timothy saw this, he was angry and furious, and roared loudly, "I just told you to leave, why didn’t you go! Why come back at such a time!"
"Timothy, let’s not waste each other’s time either, let’s get right to it." Michael raised his head slightly, in a cold tone, "I would give you time to think about it, one finger for every minute. You can take your time to consider it as long you accept this offer."
When he finished, Michael took Wendy’s hand and sat with her on the couch.
Michael staring at the chronometer on his watch as seconds clicking away.
"One finger per minute?" Timothy suddenly laughed out loud, "Corrine I dare you to cut me into pieces, if you have the ability, have Michael do it!"
Timothy was angry with Wendy.
He could never accept the fact that Wendy betrayed him.
No matter how they met in the past, after all, Timothy once really admired Wendy and really loved her as a daughter.
The more feelings that you poured into it, the harsher it is to accept the betrayal.
What Timothy didn’t know was that Wendy had also put in her true feelings.
She treated Timothy as a saviour, as a mentor.
When she first learned the truth of all this, her heart was bleeding.
She too has gotten through this bit by bit.
Michael knew that Wendy couldn’t do it, so he told Timothy, "Timothy, it has come to this and there is absolutely no point in saying this. Now that I have set the rules for the game, I can play with you all day long. I was just wondering how many fingers your daughter and wife were willing to sacrifice?"
"Michael!" Timothy’s forehead bulging with veins with an angry tone and harsh words warning Michael, "Don’t you go too far! You’d better kill me today, or I’ll definitely tear you into pieces when I have the chance!"
"As I said, your life is worthless to me. Besides that, do I need to do it myself?"
Michael chuckled and said, "Why dirty my hands."
"Michael ..." Before Timothy could say anything, Michael started the countdown without hesitation or mercy, "Three ..."
"Two ..."
Jill and Rosa, who were on the sidelines, were stunned to hear the countdown.
They all cried and shouted and pleaded with Michael to cut their fingers.
Timothy felt terrible listening to their shouting and yelling.
Timothy closed his eyes, and as Michael counted to one, Timothy softened his tone and said quickly, "Michael, it’s no use for you to force me. The safe has been taken by Christian’s men."
"Taken?" Michael sneered, "You think that I would believe that?"
"Believe it or not, just yesterday, he sent someone to take it away." Timothy took a deep breath, in the end, he could not stand by and watch his wife and daughter get hurt because of him.
"The reason Christian left the safe in my office is that HG Enterprise has never been caught with a problem. I, on the other hand, was comfortably in the position of Chairman. But now, HG Enterprise has fallen, and so have I. How can Christian still feel comfortable leaving the safe with me."
"You are lying ..." Michael instantly unravelled Timothy’s lie, "It is indeed possible that the safe is not in your office, but there is absolutely no way that it was taken yesterday. " Timothy heard Michael and didn’t expect him to say it with such certainty.
...
Timothy sighed in helplessness and answered, "Yes, the safe was not taken away yesterday. We changed the location of the safe when someone broke into my lounge previously."
"Where did you relocate it?" Michael immediately questioned him.
"The villa I once took Corrine to, that was the base camp where HG Enterprise secret and dirty business were," said Timothy.
Things have escalated to the point that Timothy didn’t intend to hide anything from them, he then said, "The safe was transferred to the mansion at that point in time."
Wendy and Michael glanced at each other, and neither of them spoke.
They smell something fishy and decided to dig deeper.
Sure enough, Timothy continued, "You don’t have to go there and waste your time searching for it. Christian must have sent someone to safe keep the safe away long ago. Christian has always been very careful. This time around, even I don’t know where the safe had been moved to."
"Timothy, do you know the consequences of not telling the truth?" Michael waved his hand at the bodyguard. The bodyguard understood and took out the dagger.
The next second, the dagger was positioned above Jill and Rosa’s fingers.
Michael threatens him in a cold tone, "Do you think I will buy into it just by your words?"
"I told the truth, there is no point forcing me." Timothy dropped onto the chair, his voice suddenly became all old and rusty, "Besides that, I do not know the password to the safe. Even if you get it from me, you can’t open it. You all also know Christian, it is impossible for him to have something on him."
Michael believes what he just heard but it wasn’t what Timothy said, it was about Christian. Michael is sure that Christian will not let someone have something on him.
Even his most trusted partner. However, Michael still had to force Timothy to confess just in case he wasn’t lying to him all this time. Therefore, Michael did not change his attitude and he deliberately said to Timothy, "Since Mr. Timothy refuses to cooperate, I will have to continue this game with Mr. Timothy. Whose finger should I start with?"
Michael smiled and asked him, " Why don’t Mr. Timothy pick one?"
"Michael, I’m telling you the truth. Even if you kill us all today, I don’t have the safe with me!" Timothy was begging in helplessness.
"I assume Mr. Timothy doesn’t want to make a choice" Michael uttered to himself, "I’ll help you then."
Michael was trying to push Timothy to his limits, he pointed at Jill, "Maybe we should start with your daughter."
Then he pointed at Rosa, "I change my mind, your wife it is. Which finger should I start with? According to the mafia’s movies, they usually start with the little finger;
let us do the same as well."
As Michael spoke, he paid close attention to Timothy’s expression.
"Michael, I told you everything!" Timothy was desperate.
He wasn’t afraid that Michael will do anything to him.
But at this moment his wife and daughter are in his hands, Timothy can only beg him, "Michael I beg you, please let them go?
They don’t know anything. In any case, they have always been good to Corrine and have never wronged Corrine.
For Corrine’s sake, let them go, if you want revenge, if you want to vent your anger, just come at me, okay?"
When Timothy finished, he saw that Michael had no intention of letting go.
He closed his eyes and tears roll down.
Dripping on the ground.
Timothy stood up and get down on his knees ...
...
Timothy’s move came as a surprise to many people.
He is competitive and sensitive about his reputation.
He had never knelt before anyone.
Even just now, Timothy would rather die at Michael’s hands than get down on his knees.
But as he watched Rosa Perrie get down on her knees and beg Michael for him, it was impossible for Timothy’s emotions not to swing.
He will not sacrifice his dignity for his survival.
But there was no way he could stand by and watch Michael cut his wife’s or daughter’s fingers in front of him because of him.
That way, Timothy would regret it for the rest of his life.
"Dad ..."
"Timothy ..."
"Master ..."
Many voices echoing at the same time.
"Michael, in all my life, I, Timothy, have never gotten down on my knees and begged anyone." Timothy closed his eyes, tears flowing down his face, and said desperately and helplessly, "Today, I beg you, let my wife and daughter go. I know that you hate me for being with Christian and for setting up Corrine.
I owed her for my wrongdoings too, I can understand you want to take revenge, I just ask you not to involve the innocent." Timothy paused for a moment, took a deep breath, and continued, "Let them go, and you can have my life.
If you don’t want to get your hands dirty, well, I can kill myself."
Timothy’s eyes were filled with determination and seriousness.
No one in the room doubted his statement.
Timothy doesn’t want to die, but he doesn’t want to live this way.
HG Enterprise went out of business, and sooner or later he will be investigated.
Rather than die in prison, he would have traded his own life for the lives of his wife and daughter.
"Timothy, what are you talking about!" Rosa Perrie, who was already sobbing, said, "What’s the point of living if you’re dead?"
"Dad, you can’t die."Jill shook her head in disbelief and couldn’t stop the tears from flowing.
Instead of responding to Jill and Rosa Perrie, Timothy looked at Michael and Wendy and begged once again, "Please, let them go."
Wendy tried to help Timothy up as soon as he fell to his knees.
In any case, Timothy was once her mentor too.
However, Michael pulled her back.
"Wanna die?"
Michael sneered, "Simple." ƒrēewebnovel.com
Michael gave a sign to his bodyguard, and they immediately threw a dagger at Timothy’s feet.
Michael asked, "Is one dagger good enough?
If it’s not enough, you can tell me what else you need."
Timothy looked at the dagger on the ground and reached out his trembling hand to pick it up.
"Dad, don’t pick it up!" Jill yelled.
Rosa Perrie’s voice was already hoarse from crying, and her voice was not very clear when she shouted at the top of her lungs.
Looking at Timothy had picked up the dagger, Wendy whispered to Michael, "Don’t go too far, in his current state I don’t think he knew the whereabouts of the safe."
"Wendy, you’re just too soft-hearted. He was Christian’s right man who helped him with all the dirty businesses. He used you and set you up.
Even if he dies, it won’t be enough to erase the damage that was done to you, and I won’t forgive him." Michael spoke cold-bloodedly.
"But after all, he didn’t hurt me either, he was just following Christian’s orders."
Wendy said, "Besides, he’s going to get caught sooner or later, so why should we force him?" Wendy is still being grateful for Timothy’s kindness in the past.
Except for Timothy, Jill, and Rosa Perrie, none of them has anything to do with this matter.
Wendy is more or less sorry for Jill and Rosa if Timothy dies in front of them today.
