Chapter 419: Timothy, You’re Really Too Much

"Trash!" Timothy Woods threw the documents in his hand hard on the ground. "This is what you’ve found?"

"I..." The assistant did not dare to lift his head and his voice was shaking, "Sorry CEO, Michael clearly hid his tracks on purpose. I... really can’t find it out."

The documents that Timothy looked at were the record of all the air tickets purchased by Michael Lucas in the past few days.

Michael had long foreseen that they would check him, thus, he had asked someone to purchase hundreds of air tickets in advance.

The air tickets were for various countries and they were for the same timings. For some countries, he bought several tickets for different timings.

At this juncture, how could Timothy determine which country Michael would be going and at what time?

Timothy felt that his head was breaking apart.

He reached out to rub his temples and took a deep breath, suppressing his emotions as much as possible.

He was afraid that he would blow up.

He knew too that this matter could not be blamed on the assistant. Michael had long made preparations and it was indeed not so easy for them to find it. Furthermore, Christian Lucas did not tell him about Michael’s tracks even till now. It seemed like Christian had not known about it either.

Taking in a deep breath once again, Timothy raised his hand and waved.

The assistant was relieved. He immediately turned and ran out quickly.

Just when Timothy wanted to calm down to think, his phone rang.

Looking at it, it was another client who was in a rush to cancel the contract. Timothy felt heavy-headed.

Hearing the phone notification, he was so agitated that he wanted to smash his phone.

But he could only pick it up with a smiley face, "Mr. Clark, we are sorry. Sorry, really sorry. But don’t you worry, the matter will be resolved this time..."

...

Wendy Stewart ran through the 10 respective countries according to plan.

The clients who took the compensation were fewer than expected as the main clients had already been snatched away by Michael. But not all of the clients were lost, so at least on the surface, Timothy will not get any evidence against Wendy.

According to their plan, Wendy and Rosa Perrie did a summary for their business trip on the plane back home.

When Rosa finished the summary, she immediately passed the laptop to Wendy and said, "Take a look first."

The data was very straight-forward. Wendy saw them clearly at one glance.

She creased her forehead as she said, "The clients are much fewer than expected?

And our compensation funds are overall more than two times higher than expected."

"Michael has snatched away quite a few of our major clients. I’m afraid this loss can’t be recovered," Rosa sighed.

As Wendy looked at the laptop, she smiled bitterly and said, "Seems like there will be nothing good left for me once we return this time."

"How’s this related to you? We’ve all done our best," Rosa said. "Honestly speaking, I also feel that it’s Timothy who’s going overboard this time. It was clearly him who had instructed you to go to Lake City. The matter had happened when you weren’t here. There wasn’t any problem when you submitted your work to him.

He’s probably afraid of taking responsibility. With such a serious situation this time, it’d be even harder to say whether Director Timothy can retain his position. Timothy had put his heart into HG Enterprise for half his life. Now that he’s old and he’s faced with such a huge crisis, he’d definitely be very miserable, given how proud he is.

Corrine, I hope that you could be more understanding towards Mr. Woods, let’s all get through this period."

...

"If I didn’t consider my gratitude towards Mr. Woods, I would completely shake this off and stop working."

Wendy Stewart looked at Rosa Perrie with a grave look and her expression was exceptionally stern. "Ms. Perrie, did you know? I’m holding on because of my gratitude to Mr. Woods for saving my life and our close relationship, so I said nothing and went on business trips like there’s no day or night.

But you’ve seen how he treats me. He even suspects that this matter in HG is related to me. If it was really related to me, wouldn’t it be better for me to just disappear straight away and watch HG close down?"

"I know. After returning, I’ll talk to Timothy, and I’ll also tell him how much hard work you’ve put in for this matter," Rosa sighed and reached out to pat Wendy on the shoulder.

"Forget it, there’s still quite a few hours before returning. Ms. Perrie, sleep for a while first. We haven’t had a good rest these past few days. Let’s not collapse in the plane before we return." Wendy looked severely exhausted and was unable to even open her eyes. "I need to get some shut-eye, I can’t take it anymore..." "Go ahead and sleep." Rosa took the blanket at the side and lightly placed it over Wendy.

Then she closed her eyes as well and slept. During these past few days, they had really been too exhausted. Closing their eyes, the two immediately fell asleep.

Once the plane landed, it was an assistant who went to wake them up.

Having slept for a few hours, Wendy felt that she was fresher.

After alighting, a chauffeur came to fetch them. They quickly returned to HG.

Timothy had been waiting for them. Seeing Wendy and Rosa walking into the office, he immediately asked the assistant to prepare coffee.

"Y’all have worked hard these few days." Timothy watched them as they sat down on the sofa. He held onto his rage and soothed them first.

Wendy looked at Timothy and was quiet.

Rosa had been the secretary-general for so long, so she naturally knew that the atmosphere between Timothy and Wendy was not right.

She immediately smiled and replied, "I’m still fine, it’s mainly Corrine. She hasn’t really slept these past few days. Meeting these clients was all her own efforts. I pity her." frёeωebɳovel.com

"Corrine has indeed worked hard." Timothy looked at Wendy’s exhausted expression with a dark expression. In the end, he still asked directly, "But Corrine, I’d still like to ask you. Did you know beforehand about Michael snatching HG’s clients?"

"How could you phrase it like that?" Not waiting for Wendy’s answer, Rosa called out first. "Timothy, don’t go overboard."

"It’s not that I’m going overboard, but this matter has been too suspicious. And the relationship between Corrine and Michael is a little complicated. I’m just asking.

Corrine wouldn’t be angry, right?" Timothy smiled and said coldly.

"What if I said that I’d be angry?" Wendy sat on the sofa with her hand supporting her head. She was so tired that she did not want to move.

"I’m just asking," Timothy said. It was what he had always said every time.

"Timothy..." Rosa reached out and pulled Timothy, giving him a look so that he would stop talking about that.

Wendy had said on the plane that Timothy would make her pay once she returned.

Rosa initially still thought that it would not be so severe.

"I’ve been flying consecutively for so many days, I really can’t take it anymore."

Wendy’s face was grim and her tone was ice-cold, "I’ll go back first to rest. Since Mr.

Woods doesn’t trust me, then don’t look for me for anything else following this. Well then..." Wendy walked out after finishing what she wanted to say.

"Corrine...." Rosa immediately followed.

But unexpectedly, just when Wendy had walked to the exit, she fainted...

...

"Corrine..." Rosa Perrie had been watching Wendy Stewart’s leaving silhouette.

Seeing that she had collapsed, Rosa immediately ran over.

"Quick, support her!" Rosa stooped down and reached out to pull Wendy up.

But she did not have much strength and could not really move her alone.

Timothy Woods immediately helped.

Supporting Wendy onto the sofa, Rosa shouted for Wendy with full of worry on her face, "Corrine... Corrine, wake up..." However, no matter how Rosa shouted, Wendy’s eyes were shut tightly.

Rosa took a look at Timothy. Timothy’s forehead was tightly creased as he turned and went straight back to the side of his office desk, picked up the desk phone and dialed for his assistant, "Prepare a car to go to the hospital immediately."

With a chauffeur, it would be faster than calling an ambulance.

The assistant quickly prepared the car. He walked into the office and said to Timothy, "CEO, the car is already downstairs."

Timothy nodded then stooped down and said to Rosa, "I’ll carry her on my back. Help transfer her onto my back."

No matter how Timothy suspected Wendy, he did not have evidence right now anyway.

Furthermore, Wendy was his student whom he had raised on his own. Seeing that Wendy had fainted, Timothy was concerned.

"CEO, let me help you." The assistant said, seeing that Timothy was a little tired from piggy-backing Wendy.

Timothy was after all a 50-year-old, his strength was definitely not of a young person.

Timothy shook his head as he said, "It’s okay, go and get the lift first."

With Timothy’s persistence, the assistant could only turn and go out to get the lift.

As for Rosa, she kept watching Wendy’s situation from the back.

Timothy and Rosa went to the hospital together.

Wendy was in a daze. She wanted to open her eyes but felt that her eyelids were very heavy.

She remembered that she had quarreled and was unhappy with Timothy, and she had left then.

And after that, she could not remember.

Wendy tried quite a few times to open her eyes, but realized that her eyes could not open at all.

She felt so tired that she would rather just close her eyes and sleep.

She arrived at the hospital in no time.

Wendy was sent to the emergency ward.

The emergency ward light was lit while Timothy and Rosa paced around.

The atmosphere was a little tense and no one spoke.

After a while, Rosa asked, "Do we inform Todd and the two children?"

"Not for now, let’s ask Corrine about the situation first once she comes out or they might be worried," Timothy said.

"Alright," Rosa nodded.

Both of them fell silent for some time until the door of the emergency ward finally opened.

Timothy and Rosa went up together and asked the doctor, "How is Corrine?"

"It’s no big problem. It was mainly caused by exhaustion." The doctor took off his mask and said honestly, "The patient has low blood sugar, in addition to a lack of rest recently, so she fainted.

Just care for her body properly and it won’t be much of a problem. Her body hasn’t been too good, so it’s recommended for her to cut down on working overtime, and try as much as possible not to stay up late.

Also, she has to eat all three meals.

As for now, just some glucose drips and she would wake up after two hours. Y’all can prepare some congee and dishes for her to eat when she wakes up."

"Alright, thanks doctor," Rosa said, heaving a sigh of relief.

Wendy was sent to a ward. Timothy and Rosa followed her.

...

Rosa Perrie looked at Wendy Stewart lying on the hospital bed, and she said softly, "If it wasn’t for HG, Corrine wouldn’t have fainted from exhaustion. How could you suspect her like that? You’ve really disappointed me."

"I..." Timothy Woods sighed as well. Looking at Wendy lying down on the hospital bed, he was indeed a little heartbroken.

But it was not only him who was suspecting that this was done by her.

Christian Lucas suspected Wendy too.

Moreover, for this matter, the most suspicious person was Wendy at first as well.

Over at the factory, it was all managed by Wendy.

Although during the past few days when Timothy took over the factories, Timothy did not do anything against HG.

The first suspect left was just Wendy.

"Timothy, Corrine had worked hard and put her life on the line for HG this time. I’ve seen it all with my own eyes. Even if HG suspects you, you shouldn’t suspect her."

Rosa said sternly, "I hope that once Corrine wakes up, you could give her a proper apology."

"I will. Don’t worry," Timothy replied.

Although he verbally said so, Timothy still did not trust Wendy.

He was just saying it for Rosa’s sake.

Rosa thought that Timothy was actually willing to apologize.

At that moment, the phone rang.

Rosa saw that it was not her own phone and Timothy saw that it was not his own phone either.

Thereafter, both of them looked at once towards the bag placed at the side.

That was Wendy’s bag, and the sound was coming from inside it.

Timothy walked over and reached in to take out Wendy’s phone.

He took a look. It was Todd Lewis who had called.

Seeing that Timothy had the intention of picking up the call, Rosa instantly stopped him, "Hey, it’s not appropriate to pick up Wendy’s call."

Timothy’s hand that had slid the pick-up button paused for a while, and he put the phone before Rosa and said, "It’s Todd, weren’t we just about to tell him about Corrine’s matter?"

"Well..." Rosa still felt bad, but Timothy had already picked it up.

"Corrine, are you back?" Todd asked.

"Todd, it’s me, Mr. Woods," Timothy said. "Corrine has returned, but she’s at the hospital."

What? What happened to Corrine?" Todd held the phone tightly and his voice became multiple times louder, "At which hospital? Can I come over now?"

"Mayflower Medical Center, fifth floor of the ward zone, unit 502," Timothy said.

"Don’t you worry. It is nothing serious. She’ll wake up soon."

"Alright, I’ll rush over right now."

Through the phone, he could hear the sounds of Todd picking up things on the other side.

After a few brief words. Todd hung up and rushed towards the hospital.

Timothy prepared to put the phone back into Wendy’s bag.

But looking at the phone, he stopped.

"What’s wrong?" Seeing that Timothy was not moving and as if thinking about something, Rosa asked him.

Timothy lowered his head slightly and did not answer Rosa, but his hand pressed on the screen.

It was a shame that Wendy had a screen lock and he did not know the password, so he could not switch it on.

"What are you doing?" Rosa creased her forehead and reached out, wanting to snatch the phone from Timothy’s hand. "Put Wendy’s phone back now that you’ve picked up the call."

"I would like to see the call history and text records on her phone too," Timothy said.

"Timothy!" Rosa’s tone was fierce. "You’re really too much! You’re still suspecting Corrine right now? Are you unclear about why she’d be lying here now?"
