Chapter 305: There’s Something Weird Going On Here

"So you wanted to use your body to achieve your aim?" There was mockery in Michael’s voice. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

Yonina bit her lips. She felt insulted yet ashamed.

She had never been so insulted before in her life.

But she had indeed done something unspeakable and was caught redhanded.

She lowered her head and didn’t dare to look at Michael.

Since he had been conscious all this while, did it mean that he had heard everything she said?

Including the part of her liking him?

What an embarrassing moment. He had a wife and children and here she was, telling him that she liked him.

Yonina felt so ashamed that she wished that the ground would open up and swallow her up now.

"Pull up your dress now!" Michael ordered coldly as he noticed the dress slipping off.

Yonina was shocked by his tone and quickly pulled up the zip.

After adjusting her dress, Yonina said quietly, "I’m sorry, Michael. This is probably the only time that I’ve done such a despicable thing. I didn’t even succeed. I know you will never forgive me. Do whatever you want to me. Even if you want to kill me, I won’t blame you."

With that, she closed her eyes and waited for what Michael would do next.

"Do whatever I want to do to you? Kill you if I want?" Michael snickered.

His gaze went to the fruit knife that was on the table.

He got off the bed and picked up the fruit knife. He put it next to Yonina’s neck and said, "Remember what you said. I can do whatever I want to you. I can also kill you if I want."

"I ..." Yonina was speechless. She didn’t expect Michael to be serious about killing her.

But it was her fault after all. Yonina clenched her jaws and replied, "Yes, I said it. Do as you please."

She closed her eyes again.

Michael saw the ready-to-die expression on her face. He turned the knife in his hand and made a small cut at the back of her hand.

Blood began to seep out from that small wound.

But the sudden pain made Yonina screamed out loud.

She opened her eyes and realized that it was just a little cut. She was perplexed.

What was Michael thinking?

Michael threw the knife on the floor and asked seriously, "What exactly did Christian want you to do?"

"He ordered me to get you to marry me by hook or by crook. If I succeed, he will stay away from Collins Group." Yonina answered honestly.

"So this whole thing was your idea?" Michael sneered.

"The idea was actually not from me." Yonina lowered her head and confessed, "It was Christian’s idea. He told me that you will never help me or Collins Group. This is the only way. Otherwise, Collins Group is dead."

"If you don’t ask, how would you know I won’t help?" Michael questioned.

"You are willing to help me?" Yonina’s eyes widened with hope.

In the first place, she had considered asking Michael for help.

But her relationship with Michael had become rather awkward because of Winnie and Wendy.

Besides, Collins Group and MC Enterprise didn’t have many business dealings.

She had tried to stay out of Michael’s way because of Wendy.

She thought to herself, if she approached Michael, he would surely reject her to avoid gossip.

She could still remember how angry Wendy was when she saw them having dinner together at his house.

Knowing how much Michael loved Wendy, he certainly bring trouble upon himself to help her.

But what he had just said made her feel hopeful again.

What he was about to say next completely crushed her hopes.

"In the past, I will surely help you since Christian is also my enemy. But now, you chose to stand on his side and tried to frame me. Do you seriously think that I will help you now?" Michael asked.

...

The banquet was already reaching its end.

Wendy already wanted to leave earlier but she couldn’t because many people started talking to her, one at a time.

It was all Christian’s fault for dragging her and Todd out alone as it caused many others to want to speak to them and leave a good impression just in case, they had the chance to collaborate in the future.

That was the main motive of business banquets.

Todd was getting a little tired so he put his glass of wine down and looked around for Wendy.

He saw her still in the midst of conversing with others and he knew that she didn’t like that.

Todd walked towards them and smiled at the man before saying, "Sorry, we have something else to do so we won’t stay any longer."

Afterwards, Todd reached out and tugged Wendy along.

Wendy smiled and nodded towards the man in apology before leaving with Todd.

They walked to a corner with fewer people before Wendy finally released the formal smile she had on her face.

She touched the corners of her lips before muttering, "I smiled so much that my face has become stiff."

"It’s almost time anyway, let’s go," Todd said as he smiled.

He honestly didn’t like business banquets like this either. But he set up his own business and founded Lewis Design Company on his own.

No matter how much he disliked these banquets, he had to attend them frequently.

"Oh right, where’s Michael?" Todd looked around and couldn’t find any trace of Michael before he asked, "Should we look for him and leave together?"

Wendy nodded her head.

She was also planning to look for Michael and go back together.

"Then, I’ll look for him with you," Todd said.

"Let me give him a call..." Wendy took out her phone before saying, "He should be about done as well."

However, Michael’s phone had been switched off when Wendy called him.

Wendy frowned slightly before muttering, "Why has his phone been switched off."

"Could he have gone back already?" Todd guessed.

"He won’t have." Wendy shook her head, feeling even more confused, "He would definitely head back with me and even if he had to bring his mother back first, he would at least still inform me. What’s more, even if he had forgotten to inform me, his phone wouldn’t coincidentally be switched off."

All these incidents happening at the same time made her feel that something was not right.

"Let’s look for him then." Todd pointed to one side and said, "Let’s split up. This place is huge so we’ll call when we’ve found him."

Wendy nodded before splitting up with Todd to search for Michael.

The banquet was already ending so everyone started leaving.

There were fewer people left.

However, Wendy still couldn’t find Michael even after looking everywhere at this venue, she didn’t see any trace of Winnie either.

Wendy thought, "Did Michael really bring Winnie back first?"

Otherwise, why couldn’t she find them?

Wendy took out her phone and called the mansion to check.

If they really had gone back, Michael would probably bring Winnie to the mansion first.

After the call went through, Wendy immediately asked, "Hello..."

The person who picked up was their grandmother, hearing Wendy’s voice, she gently answered, "Wendy, is anything the matter?"

"Grandmother..." Hearing grandmother’s voice, she asked, "I wanted to ask, has Michael gone back?"

"Michael?" Grandmother shook her head before saying, "Not yet, he went to take part in the Collins’ Group banquet and even brought Winnie with him. He should probably be back soon."

"Mrs. Quinn isn’t back as well?" Wendy asked.

"Not yet." Hearing this, grandmother felt a little anxious as she asked, "Did something happen?"

Wendy wanted to know what had happened as well.

She had just returned to Lake City and had met Michael too.

Logically, Michael would tell Wendy his whereabouts no matter where he went.

But she didn’t want grandmother to worry since they didn’t know what had happened yet, so she replied, "It’s nothing. It’s just that I’d returned to Lake City and I wanted to ask if Michael was at the mansion. Since he isn’t, I’ll look for him somewhere else."

"Wendy, you’re back?" Hearing Wendy say that, grandmother felt excited and happy. "Then, come to the mansion with Michael once you’ve found him, I haven’t seen you in a long while."

"It’s already late now so we’ll go over tomorrow." Wendy was still feeling a little worried so she didn’t talk to grandmother for too long and said, "Then, I’ll hang up first to look for Michael."

After that, Wendy hung up. Since Michael didn’t return to the mansion, could he have gone home?

But Winnie didn’t head back as well and even if Michael had wanted to go home, he would bring Winnie back to the mansion first.

Forget it, she should just call and ask. Wendy then called their home.

The person who picked up was Zess.

"Zess, has Michael returned home?"

"Not yet," Zess answered honestly.

"I got it." After saying this, Wendy hung up.

Todd walked over and upon seeing Wendy’s anxious expression, he asked, "Have you still not found Mr. Lucas?"

Wendy shook her head.

"Don’t worry..." Todd stretched out his hand to pat her shoulder before saying, "Let’s continue looking since he hasn’t returned yet, it means that he could still be at the banquet. Maybe he was too hungry and went to look for food. Or maybe he might have gone to the toilet. Anyway, just don’t worry for now. Mr. Lucas is already an adult, there’s no way anything bad could happen to him."

Wendy looked down slightly, feeling that there was something amiss.

She was feeling anxious with worry.

She and Todd split up again to look for Michael. If she couldn’t find Michael this time, she was planning to call the police.

This banquet tonight was hosted by the Collins Group and Christian.

Christian and Michael were nemeses.

So, it’s definitely not a good thing that Michael was nowhere to be found at the banquet.

Since she couldn’t find Michael, she started asking around.

After asking quite a few people, she finally got an answer from a waiter.

The waiter said, "Yeah, I saw Mr. Lucas."

The waiter pointed upstairs and said, "I just came down from upstairs. Mr. Lucas should be on the third floor."

"The third floor?" Wendy frowned. fгeewebnovёl.com

What is Michael doing on the third floor?

Upon seeing the waiter nod, Wendy’s frowned deepened.

"Thank you." Wendy walked upstairs after thanking the waiter.

Seeing Wendy walk upstairs, Todd ran over and pulled her before asking, "Where are you going?"

"That person told me that Michael is on the third floor," Wendy explained.

"The third floor?" Todd shook his head before saying, "Don’t be rash. Michael’s disappearance is already strange. And now someone is telling you that he is on the third floor. There’s something weird going on here."

Of course, Wendy thought that it was weird as well.

But Michael has indeed gone missing.

She had to try to see whether or not Michael was on the third floor.

"But we’ve been looking around here for so long and we still can’t find him, we can’t possibly give up because we can’t find him," Wendy said.

Todd frowned and thought for a while before saying, "I’ll go with you."
