Chapter 231: I Want To Ask You A Favor
"Wendy?" Michael called out to Wendy several times, and saw that she did not respond, "Wendy?"
Wendy came back to her senses and let out a cry of "ah".
"What’s wrong with you?" As Michael drove, he had to turn his head quickly to look at her and saw that she was not looking well, and said with concern, "Are you not feeling well?"
"I... " Wendy forced a smile on her face and said, "I’m fine. I’m just thinking about the design and I’m a little lost in thought."
She was in a bit of a mess.
Turning her head to look at Michael, who was driving, Wendy wondered if she should ask him directly about the medicine.
After thinking about it, she decided not to ask directly.
She needed to find out what those drugs were first.
"If you don’t feel well, you must not tough it out. I can take you to the hospital right now," Michael’s tone was full of worry.
Since Wendy’s car accident, Michael had been constantly worried about her health. He didn’t dare let any more accidents happen to Wendy.
"I’m really fine," Wendy said again.
Michael couldn’t force her to go to the hospital.
After arriving at the company, Michael specifically instructed Jill to help pay more attention to Wendy and to tell him in time if she felt uncomfortable.
When Jill heard this, she could only laugh as she exclaimed she had a toothache.
"Okay, go and get busy," Wendy reached out and pushed Michael away with a faint smile as she watched him leave.
Michael was a little reluctant to let go of her hand, and before he left, he lowered his head and kissed her forehead.
This was in Wendy’s office. One to two employees passing by saw this scene and were smiling and full of envy.
The news that Michael had sent Wendy to work and kissed her in the office was instantly spread around the company.
Wendy didn’t even care about those things.
The more she thought about the pills, the more upset she became.
In the afternoon, she still decided to go home.
She wanted to get to the bottom of it.
Wendy called Jill and told her, "I have to leave the office for a while, so don’t spread the news about my departure." After that, Wendy added, "Especially to Michael."
"Michael?" Jill was puzzled. It was obvious that both of them were fine in the morning, but in the afternoon, why did Wendy become wary of Michael?
"Just do as I say." Wendy looked at the time and said, "It’s only two o’clock. I should be back by five. If someone comes looking for me, just say I’m drawing a design and can’t be disturbed."
"Is that what I should say when Mr. Lucas comes?" Jill asked.
"Yes." Wendy stood up, grabbed her bag and car keys from the desk before walking out of the office.
As Jill watched Wendy’s anxiously departing figure, she became more and more puzzled. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
Her gossipy nature made her eager to know what was going on. But fortunately, she suppressed it.
From Wendy’s point of view, this was not a trivial matter.
She should not be nosy.
Wendy came to the office with Michael in the morning, so she didn’t have a car to drive and took a taxi directly back.
When Zess saw her return mid-afternoon, she asked, "Wendy, didn’t you go to the office to work? Why are you back at this time?"
"I came back to get the design," Wendy said casually, then went into the bedroom and took out the pills she had put in her bag in the morning.
Then, she quickly went out again and reached out to hail a taxi.
When she got in, the driver asked her where she was going, and Wendy automatically said, "To Metropolitan Hospital."
After saying that, Wendy paused and said, "Not Metropolitan Hospital, but Horem Hospital."
Wendy’s mind was in turmoil, and she didn’t know why the medicine was different. But she knew one thing. If the medication was really changed by Michael, then the chief physician at Metropolitan Hospital must also be Michael’s man.
If she wanted to figure this out, she had to go to another hospital.
Wendy went straight to a doctor.
She sat in the outpatient room and the doctor across from her was writing something with his head down and said without looking up, "First, tell me what’s going on."
Wendy pursed her lips, took out the pills from her bag, placed them separately in front of the doctor and said, "I’m not here to have a consultation. I want you to help me see what the difference is between these two medicines?"
The doctor raised his head, looked at Wendy, frowned a little impatiently and said, "What are you doing here if you don’t want a consultation?"
"Please take a look," Wendy pleaded politely.
Today’s matter couldn’t be disclosed to Michael.
Therefore, Wendy could not reveal her identity. She could only register to see the clinic as usual.
The doctor, however, was obviously not that nice, and he pointed to the line of people outside the door and said, "There are so many people outside, so don’t take up my time and please go out."
Wendy frowned, but eventually came out.
It seemed that she needed to get help from someone she knew.
Wendy had been away from Lake City for five years and had lost her memories, so she didn’t know who else she could call.
Michael definitely couldn’t do it, and neither could Mr. York.
Mr. York was Michael’s man, so if she went to him, Michael would know about it too.
After thinking for a while, Wendy had no choice but to call Zen.
Zen had been in Lake City all along and was the head of the DR design department.
She had a certain status in Lake City, so she should know one or two people at the hospital.
Zen was surprised when she received Wendy’s call.
Since Wendy was discharged from the hospital, they hadn’t been in touch.
The previous incident in which they snatched a client was a bit unpleasant.
Zen felt guilty towards Wendy and was too embarrassed to contact her.
Now that Wendy was calling her, Zen immediately picked up and said, "Wendy... "
Wendy pursed her lips, blinked her eyes and said, "Are you busy now?"
"I... " Zen looked at Christian, who was beside her, frowned and said, "Not busy."
In fact, Christian had just approached her in the office to talk about something.
Christian was cooperative and didn’t say anything.
"There is something I want to ask you a favor for," Wendy spoke with some difficulty.
"Tell me. I will do my best to help you if there is anything I can do."
"Do you know any doctors at other hospitals besides Metropolitan Hospital?" Wendy asked.
"Doctors I know?" Zen frowned with a tone of concern and anxiety as she said, "Are you sick?"
"No, there are matters at hand," Wendy said.
"It’s okay if it’s not convenient."
"I know someone," Zen immediately said. "What kind of doctor do you need? I’ll contact one for you now so you can go straight there."
"Neurology." Wendy knew that it was impossible not to tell Zen anything when she approached her.
It was just that Wendy wouldn’t say any more than that.
Her purpose this time was just to find out what the difference was between the two drugs.
"Okay, I’ll contact them right away and give you a call when I’m done."
"Thanks."
After hanging up the phone, Zen flipped through her phone contacts and called the doctors at the hospital.
After arranging everything, Zen called Wendy.
