Chapter 210: Who Did You Learn That For?

Wendy was unwilling to talk, and Michael did not force her to. He put his head back down and hugged her waist as he usually did. But tonight, Michael could feel Wendy’s resistance.

He did not want to force her, and so he quietly pulled his arm back.

Wendy was feeling groggy for quite a while before she finally fell asleep. But once asleep, she started to dream.

In her dream, Michael was very affectionate with another woman in the office while Wendy was kneeling in front of them, begging them to spare her and also let her children go.

Michael smiled affectionately at the other woman, but when he turned around to look at Wendy, he had a bloody knife in his hand.

His mouth was moving as if he was saying something, but Wendy could not hear his words. Wendy could feel strongly that Michael wanted to use that knife to kill her and her children.

She begged him again and again for mercy, but Michael would not change his mind.

The woman next to him was clapping with joy.

"Wendy, Wendy, what’s wrong?" Michael had been jolted out of his sleep by Wendy’s voice.

Beads of sweat covered Wendy’s forehead and she kept shouting "Don’t kill me! Let my children and I go!" over and over again.

Michael was frightened by her.

Hearing his voice dragged Wendy out of her dream.

Her heart was beating wildly. She placed her hand over her chest.

Michael had already turned on the lights.

Wendy turned to look at Michael’s face and images immediately appeared in her mind.

"Were you having a nightmare? Don’t be afraid, I’m here." Michael pulled Wendy into his arms and patted her back gently, trying to comfort her.

Wendy was breathing heavily. She could not see the face of the woman in her dream, but she was sure who the man in her nightmare was... it was Michael.

"Is that woman Yvonne Taylor?" Wendy said the first name that popped in her head.

At the mention of Yvonne Taylor, Michael stopped patting Wendy’s back.

Yvonne Taylor was dead. Michael killed her to exact revenge.

However, Michael had never told Wendy about that.

Since Wendy lost her memory, Jake most likely did not mention this to her either.

Michael’s heart skipped a beat when Wendy said that name.

’Has she remembered something?’ he wondered.

"What are you saying, Wendy?" Michael was not sure if Wendy had really remembered and was just playing.

Michael then realized why Wendy was so cold toward him.

Wendy closed her eyes, but she could still see Michael and Yvonne Taylor behaving intimately.

She gulped. She was not sure if that was a dream because it felt real.

Taking a deep breath, Wendy simply said, "I just had a nightmare."

"What was it about?" Michael asked, looking Wendy in the eye.

"I dreamed about you wanting to kill me and my children because of another woman," Wendy told him truthfully.

Wendy saw Michael’s expression change. His gaze avoided hers and seemed scared.

The next second, Michael smiled. Wendy thought she must have been mistaken.

"It was just a nightmare. How could I possibly kill you and the kids?" Michael patted Wendy on her back again and comforted her. "You and the kids are my life. If I killed you, I’ll kill myself too."

Michael’s eyes looked so determined now that Wendy felt at a loss.

"Alright, go back to sleep." Michael helped her lie down and patted her lightly, calming her nerves.

After Wendy had fallen asleep, Michael called out to her softly to check if she was really asleep.

Then he quietly got up...

Michael walked over to the cabinet and gently pulled out a drawer.

Inside was all the medicine Wendy had to take.

The doctor had given him medicine that could suppress Wendy’s memory, but he had not switched them.

He thought that he could not be so selfish and take away eight years of her memories.

Before this, Wendy was only able to recall some images but was never able to think of any person or incident. But tonight, Wendy could even remember Yvonne Taylor.

She even dreamed about Michael wanting to kill her and their children.

Michael was afraid.

He was scared that after Wendy remembered everything, she would leave him as she had done before.

He could not accept such an ending.

Right now, he could lose anything in the world except his wife and children.

He made up his mind. He turned around and walked out of the room quietly to get the medicine he had kept in another room. frёeωebɳovel.com

When Wendy woke up the next day, she was not surprised that Michael was not next to her.

He was busy at work and often went out early. But when Wendy stepped out of the room, she heard sounds from the kitchen, yet Zess had just walked out of the bathroom.

Wendy went to the kitchen and found Michael there.

He had an apron on and was working his way around the kitchen.

He turned around when he heard footsteps behind him. He smiled at her. "You’re awake."

"Why aren’t you at work?" Wendy asked coolly as she crossed her arms.

Images from last night’s nightmare were still in her mind, but she had deliberately ignored them.

"I’m making pancakes for you." Michael looked at the pancakes and said, "It’s ready. Come and have breakfast after you have freshened up."

"Why are you doing this? Zess could have done that," Wendy said.

"I wanted to make breakfast for you." Michael smiled and looked into Wendy’s eyes, but he actually felt a little guilty.

Wendy smiled but did not say anything more.

After freshening up, Wendy sat at the dining table. Michael scooped the pancakes on a plate and even blew on them so that she would not burn her tongue.

Wendy took a bite and found that it did not taste bad. "This isn’t too bad," she commented. "I didn’t know that you can cook. I thought that a big-shot CEO like you would have been waited on hand and foot from birth."

"I didn’t know how to cook," Michael admitted.

To be honest, his cooking skills were average, and he only knew how to make some simple dishes.

"So who did you learn cooking for?" Wendy’s hand that held the fork stopped midair. "Was it for Yvonne Taylor?" she asked without thinking.

She did not know why this name came to mind.

Wendy had brought up this name so many times that Michael knew he could not avoid it any longer.

At least he could not deny her existence.

However, he was afraid that Wendy might start overthinking things if he told her everything.

Michael contemplated. After a while, he said,

"Did you remember anything more? It can’t be just the name Yvonne Taylor, right?"

Wendy had not really remembered much.

In her dream last night, she knew that it was a dream.

She thought that Michael could not possibly have held a knife to kill her and the children.

She was also uncertain who Yvonne Taylor was to Michael.

Wendy lowered her head and did not say anything.

Michael saw her response and felt relieved.

He began, "Yvonne Taylor liked me and was chasing me, but I treated her only as a sister. You remembered her name probably because you saw her as your rival."

What Michael had just told her was not untrue.

Yet, it was also not entirely true.

He had indeed treated Yvonne as his sister, but he had also hated Wendy so much in the beginning that he did a lot of things to hurt her.
