Chapter 163: You’re Really A Madman!
Wendy Stewart was sent to the intensive care unit.
The next day, Todd Lewis brought Jake Stewart and Leah Stewart to the city hospital.
Not many people could enter the intensive care unit. Even if one wanted to visit the patient, they would have to change into hospital clothes to avoid bringing in germs and causing infections.
Hence, at the moment, the group of people were all in Jake’s ward.
With both children present, Michael Lucas and Mary Stewart did not actively bring up Wendy’s situation.
Leah’s eyes were red and swollen.
Jake was intelligent. Seeing Michael and Mary’s expressions, he had already guessed that the situation was not good.
His arm was still with a drip, so there was no way for him to ask about Wendy’s matter in private.
Seeing Mary carrying Leah at the side, he was afraid that it would not be good for Leah to hear too much. But with the current situation, he was even more worried about his mother.
So, he still spoke out at last, "How’s my mummy? Uncle Lucas, tell me the truth."
However, when Jake asked this, his little hands covered Leah’s ears.
"In the intensive care unit, but you don’t have to be too worried." Michael’s hands caressed Jake’s little head. "The doctor says that she will wake up in three days."
Michael naturally did not say everything.
When Mr. York brought the dishes in, he advised Michael, "Chairman, you haven’t eaten or drunk, neither have you rested, you wouldn’t hold at this rate. Eat some, if not you’d collapse when madam wakes up."
"I can’t eat." Michael held tightly onto Wendy’s hand.
At that moment, his eyes were all bloodshot, his face pale with exhaustion, a stubble had grown on his chin, and a layer of skin had formed on his lips.
Mr. York passed the dishes to Mary and Todd.
They took it. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
However, they had no appetite for it either, so they only fed two bites to the two children.

Then, in Christian Lucas’s office:
"What have you called me here for?" Zen Tanner walked into Christian Lucas’ office not knowing what she had been called there for.
After their huge fuss the day before, Zen still thought that Christian would not be bothered about her.
And would even fire her straight.
In the end, she did not expect that the moment she came to the office today, she had gotten an internal phone call from Christian.
Christian spun the pen in his hand. The pen fell to the ground and made a crisp sound.
A high-end custom-made pen was broken, just like that, but Christian was hardly bothered.
He picked up the pen and threw it straight into the bin. Sitting on the chair, he raised his head and looked at Zen as he said with a smile, "Aren’t you worried about Wendy Stewart and checking on her situation?"
Of course, Zen was worried about Wendy.
When she gave Wendy a call again the previous day, it was not picked up.
She still did not know what had happened to Wendy until now.
"Wendy is now at the city hospital," Christian said, "She was hit by a large cargo truck yesterday with her and Jake in the car. Jake is luckier, he has already awoken. As for Wendy...."
"How’s Wendy?" Zen quickly went one step ahead and probed at Christian, "Just, how’s Wendy? Hurry up and tell me!"
"Wendy has gone through a few rounds of treatment and her life is no longer in danger."
Hearing the words "her life is no longer in danger", Zen heaved a sigh of relief.
Seeing Zen’s look, Christian deliberately added, "But she’s already in a vegetative state."
"What did you say?" Zen looked at Christian in disbelief, her eyes full of shock.
"Go visit your sister." Christian was very satisfied with Zen’s reaction, "Go see that person who you’d rather give up on me to choose."
"Madman! You’re really a madman!" Zen shook her head, turned, and immediately ran out.
Looking at Zen’s back silhouette, Christian moved the office chair as the smile on his face gradually faded.
He reached out a hand and clutched where his heart was.
He had clearly already achieved his goal, but why did he feel a little breathless...¦

When Zen Tanner reached the city hospital, she did not see Wendy Stewart.
Because she was still in the intensive care unit.
Zen could only go to Jake Stewart’s ward.
In the ward, Michael Lucas and the others were all there.
"Mr. Lucas..." Zen nodded to Michael and greeted him.
Michael replied softly and did not have the mood to be bothered about her.
Zen did not know the other people in the ward.
Her gaze landed on Jake. Seeing that his little body was still on the drip, she felt very miserable in her mind and heart.
Walking to Jake’s side, Zen lowered her head and asked him in a gentle voice, "Jake, how are you?"
This was actually Zen’s first time meeting Jake.
The last time when Wendy went to the office to look for Zen, it was work time, so she did not bring Jake along.
Jake nodded and his eyes were very deep.
He was a child, but he appeared exceptionally mature.
"I’m your mummy’s good friend, I’m Zen Tanner..." Zen introduced herself, then asked him, "What about your mummy? How’s her situation?"
Jake lowered his head, as if not wanting to answer this question.
Michael suddenly stood up and said to Zen, "Let’s talk outside."
Zen nodded and followed Michael out of the ward.
Standing outside the ward, Michael asked openly, "Is this matter related to Christian Lucas?"
Michael knew that Zen was someone under Christian, so his tone was not very good, "Have you come to the hospital to help Christian inquire about the news?"
Zen immediately shook her head, rebutting Michael, "No, I’m here on my own."
It was indeed Zen who wanted to come, but this news was given to her by Christian.
Zen was a little guilty. Her heart was beating a little fast and her eyes did not dare to look at Michael.
She bit her lip as she said, "This matter has nothing to do with Christian."
"Nothing to do?" Michael laughed coldly, "Zen, you were Wendy’s best friend last time, now that you’ve taken a few years of salary under Christian, you’ve become his dog?" freewebnσvel.cѳm
Michael’s mood was not good, so his words were crude too.
Zen was guilty but had to bear with it.
She knew that Michael and Christian had been rivals.
Michael suspecting Christian was no surprise. But she had no way of admitting that this matter was related to Christian.
"It’s precisely because Wendy and I are friends, so I know the news and have come to see Wendy." Zen explained unconscientiously once again. "It’s really nothing to do with Christian."
"You’re so sure that it has nothing to do with Christian, then do you know who it’s related to?" Michael deliberately set Zen up.
Michael had not had any shuteye until now, as he had been staying at the hospital.
However, he had already made Mr. York investigate.
No matter who it was, he absolutely would not let them go.
Zen lowered her head and stopped talking.
"Since you’re not talking, then leave." Michael did not have much reason to chat with Zen.
Zen was Wendy’s friend, so when Wendy was present, Michael reluctantly treated her as a friend as well. But she had chosen to go to Christian’s company and was even unwilling to tell him about the culprit today. And so, it was no longer possible for Michael to treat her as a friend.
"Mr. Lucas..." Zen heaved a sigh, but in the end did not continue speaking.
She turned, walked two steps, and said, "If Wendy wakes up, could you let me know?"
"I won’t tell you." Michael’s tone was cold and emotionless, "Go back and tell Christian that the grudge between me and him has seen a newly added level."
If it had been the Michael five years ago, he would have charged straight into Christian’s office and beat him up. But today, he was clear that this younger brother was not a softie.
Since Christian had done this thing, he must have found a scapegoat, so Michael would not find any evidence.
After all, comparing means and viciousness, Michael was of a comparable match.
