Chapter 661: Chapter 661: Like a Mad Demon

Lin Kuang had initially been a match for Dong Liujian. By relying on his erratic movements and the Bagua Step Technique, he could barely contend with the man—or to be more precise, only delay him.

But it was merely a delay. Defeating Dong Liujian, let alone killing him, was an extremely difficult task for Lin Kuang.

However, Dong Liushi’s entry completely destabilized him. With his current strength, facing two opponents at once was simply impossible. After all, the two of them were overwhelmingly powerful and could completely suppress him together.

Faced with such absolute power, the refinement of Lin Kuang’s Swordsmanship was useless.

Lin Kuang’s Bagua Step Technique shifted, transforming into the Extreme Shadow Illusion. His only choice now was to stall—stall until reinforcements from the Wumi Building arrived. Otherwise, with his current power, he was no match for them, and the outcome would surely be death.

Lin Kuang’s figure darted about unpredictably, like a slippery loach. Dong Liujian and Dong Liushi were powerful, but finishing him off was no easy task.

Dong Liujian and Dong Liushi were truly enraged. They were prominent figures in the Dong Family, after all. Yet here they were, two of them ganging up on a junior like Lin Kuang, and they still couldn’t defeat him quickly. The thought made them both ashamed and furious. Fueled by this, their attacks grew more ferocious as they launched a crazed assault on Lin Kuang.

Lin Kuang was like a small skiff on a stormy sea. No matter how violent the waves, the tiny vessel simply drifted on the surface, refusing to capsize.

At this point, Lin Kuang was cautious to the extreme, pushing his Extreme Shadow Illusion to its absolute limit. He only occasionally struck out with his sword, spending most of his time dodging.

It was true that a prolonged defense would inevitably lead to defeat, but Lin Kuang had no opportunity to counterattack. If he tried to attack, he would die even faster. All he could do was rely on his movement technique to stall for time.

Lin Kuang was forced into a relentless retreat. Yang Ruoxi, sitting in the main hall, saw the entire scene unfold clearly. Seeing Lin Kuang caught in a desperate struggle with no apparent chance of winning, she could no longer remain seated.

Yang Ruoxi’s strength had also improved immensely during this period. After all, she possessed a Yin-Yang Body, and the Force of Nature continuously flowed into her, accelerating her cultivation. It even enhanced her power while she slept.

Yang Ruoxi stood up and rushed out of the hall. "Lin Kuang, I’m here to help you!" she cried, charging toward Dong Liujian like a bolt of lightning.

Hearing her, Lin Kuang’s expression changed drastically. "Ruoxi, run!" he roared, his voice fraught with anxiety. "You’re no match for them! Get out of here!"

However, how could Yang Ruoxi, who had always wanted to help Lin Kuang, possibly leave?

Seeing this, Dong Wanchun sneered. "You two, leave this little girl to me." As he spoke, he rushed forward, aiming a palm strike at Yang Ruoxi’s chest.

"You bastard! How dare you!"

Watching Dong Wanchun charge out, Lin Kuang’s eyes instantly turned crimson. Murderous intent flared in his gaze as the True Qi within him surged, threatening to drive him into a frenzy like a Mad Demon.

Lin Kuang knew with absolute certainty that Yang Ruoxi was no match for Dong Wanchun. Even if her strength had grown, her combat experience was pitifully lacking. Compared to a veteran like Dong Wanchun, she was a complete novice. Her power might be comparable, but in a real fight, experience was what truly mattered.

But Yang Ruoxi, as fearless as a newborn calf that has never seen a tiger, simply swung her own palm to meet his attack.

However, it was just as Lin Kuang had feared. While her strength was commendable, her combat experience was sorely lacking. Dong Wanchun had no intention of meeting her strike head-on. As Yang Ruoxi’s palm flew toward him, Dong Wanchun’s footwork flashed. He effortlessly sidestepped her attack, and his own palm, which had been aimed at her chest all along, landed squarely on its target. In that instant, Dong Wanchun unleashed all of his power, as if intending to kill her with a single blow.

Yang Ruoxi never expected him to dodge. By the time she realized her own need to evade, it was far too late.

With a sickening THWACK, Dong Wanchun’s palm slammed viciously into her chest.

"Aaagh!" Yang Ruoxi screamed in agony. The force of the blow sent her flying backward. Blood sprayed from her lips as she crashed heavily to the ground, where she lay motionless, her life or death uncertain.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang went berserk. "AHHH! DAMN YOU! YOU ALL DESERVE TO DIE!" he roared at the heavens, his pupils turning blood-red as his killing intent surged to an explosive peak.

While rage can sometimes unlock hidden potential, Lin Kuang’s opponents were simply too strong. His uncontrolled fury gave Dong Liujian the very opening he needed.

In that instant, Dong Liujian threw a vicious punch, slamming it hard into Lin Kuang’s abdomen.

BANG!

Lin Kuang was sent flying. Blood spurted from the corner of his mouth as his face turned deathly pale. He collapsed to the ground, his body convulsing. Dong Liujian’s punch had been ferocious. If Lin Kuang’s foundation weren’t so solid, that single blow would have killed him on the spot.

"Ruoxi... Ruoxi, speak to me! Can you hear me? Answer me!"

Struggling, Lin Kuang crawled to Yang Ruoxi’s side, his eyes glazed over as he yelled. He reached out with a trembling hand, placing it under her nose to check for breath.

The next moment, Lin Kuang’s body shuddered. He froze, completely dumbstruck. Yang Ruoxi... she had stopped breathing. She was dead. He stared at her, utterly catatonic, unable to utter a single word.

"Haha, is she dead? Good. Now it’s your turn, kid," Dong Liujian laughed, striding toward Lin Kuang.

"She can’t be dead... She can’t be," Lin Kuang muttered in a panic, completely ignoring Dong Liujian. He pressed his ear to Yang Ruoxi’s chest.

Lin Kuang couldn’t believe it—or rather, he didn’t dare to. The thought that Yang Ruoxi, who had been so full of life just moments ago, could be gone like this was simply unacceptable.

As his ear rested against her chest, his expression froze again. He could clearly feel it. Though she was no longer breathing, her heart was still beating—faintly, but beating nonetheless. Yes... her heart is still beating. This isn’t an illusion. It’s real!

"Haha! She’s not dead! Not dead! Ruoxi isn’t dead!" Lin Kuang exclaimed with joy, snapping out of his daze.

"I’ll kill you first. Then I’ll send this woman to join you in death!" Dong Liujian said coldly. He raised his foot and viciously kicked Lin Kuang in the abdomen.
