Chapter 785: Chapter 220: You Are My Wife, That’s Right (Part 2)
Si Mo sat cross-legged on the mat outside the wooden house, motionless for a long time.
His gaze was fixed on the Palace Bell at his waist. Finally, he raised his hand, pulled the Palace Bell from his belt, and held it lightly in his hand.
He didn’t remember when he started wearing this Palace Bell, nor did he know who gave it to him.
However, he just had a feeling in his heart that this Palace Bell was very important to him! Very important!
"What are you looking at?" Lingling appeared beside Si Mo, her eyes brightened upon seeing the Palace Bell in his hand, and she reached out to take a look. "What a beautiful Palace Bell, you’ve always worn it before, and I never noticed that it’s so exquisite."
Unfortunately, her hand grasped empty air.
Si Mo held the Palace Bell and subtly avoided her, without even glancing at her, emanating a "keep away" aura.
Lingling’s smile froze on her face, and she awkwardly withdrew her hand.
She tentatively asked, "This Palace Bell is important to you, isn’t it? Who gave it to you?"
Si Mo kept a tight face, his handsome features seemed covered in a layer of frost. He stood up, his tall stature suddenly doubling Lingling’s pressure, making her involuntarily take two steps back.
It seemed that only by putting some distance could she breathe properly.
Si Mo’s amber eyes, cold and distant, looked at her, and he spoke in a voice devoid of emotion: "You saved me once, I’ll spare you once. If you approach me again, no mercy in killing."
Lingling’s heart skipped a beat, her eyes widened as she looked at him, her face pale.
She couldn’t believe such cold and heartless words came from him.
She just wanted to chat with him, but he loathed her so much, even to the point of wanting to kill her?
"Don’t misunderstand me, I never intended to extort gratitude!" Lingling hurriedly explained. She hoped he wouldn’t misunderstand and only wished to have a good conversation with him.
Yet, Si Mo’s gaze remained icy, utterly indifferent.
It seemed that deep within his eyes, only a world of slaughter was concealed.
’This man has no emotions! No heart! Grandpa was right, there’s simply no possibility between us!’ Under the watchful gaze as cold as ice, Lingling took a few more steps back. She felt as if her whole body was wrapped in ice, shivering, wanting to escape.
"Lingling."
Just as her spirit was about to collapse under Si Mo’s gaze, a voice suddenly saved her.
Lingling felt as if she had been pulled out of ice water, her choked throat finally able to breathe. She exited that world of slaughter and felt warmth surrounding her once more.
Her shocked emotions receded, and she turned her eyes toward the source of the voice, her gaze filled with gratitude.
Suddenly, a clear ringing sounded, making her pause.
At that moment, the Palace Bell in Si Mo’s hand also started ringing. The two crisp bell sounds intertwined, lingering in the air.
Hearing the Palace Bell ringing in his hand, Si Mo frowned and looked up towards the door.
Lingling also looked towards the door in shock and only then noticed that behind Grandpa, many other people had followed. Among them, one person stood out particularly.
She was dressed in a red, form-fitting dress, extraordinarily beautiful.
Lingling was dumbfounded. She had never seen such a beautiful woman. Her presence seemed to eclipse even the brilliance of the sun, moon, and stars.
The most notable part was that one of the bell sounds came from her.
Lingling noticed she also had a golden Palace Bell tied around her waist.
She noticed it, and so did Si Mo.
He slowly turned around to face these suddenly appearing people.
"Master!"
"Subordinates bow to Master!"
Seeing Si Mo’s face clearly, Gu Ya, Gu Ye, and the accompanying five hundred Demon Guards could no longer control their excitement and all knelt down.
Only one person simply stood silently, watching him with emotions in her eyes that... he couldn’t quite understand.
Si Mo was looking at Mu Qingge, and Mu Qingge was also looking at Si Mo.
The person standing in front of her was indeed Si Mo.
The excitement in her heart at the moment was probably beyond words. The taut string in her heart finally relaxed the instant she saw Si Mo standing well before her.
’He’s okay!’ Mu Qingge slowly said to herself in her mind.
She wanted very much to smile, but she found the Si Mo in front of her seemed odd.
He was too calm! Displaying too much calm, even to the point of indifference. This was unlike the Si Mo she knew, unlike her A-Mo.
Mu Qingge slightly frowned, somewhat puzzled in her heart.
Yet, now was not the right time to ask clearly. Her gaze moved away from Si Mo and fell on Lingling. She smiled and slowly spoke, "Thank you, young lady, for your care these past few days."
On the way here, she had already learned from the elderly guide that it was the few young people from this tribe who discovered Si Mo buried beneath the Great Marsh when they went there on an errand and rescued him, bringing him back.
If it weren’t for that, Si Mo might still have been buried under the muddy marsh for who knows how long, and he wouldn’t have woken up so quickly.
"Who... are you?" Lingling looked at Mu Qingge and spoke in a daze.
This question came straight from her heart, without any thought. It was as if she just wanted to know who Mu Qingge was and what her relationship was with the man she had saved.
Mu Qingge smiled slightly, "I am..." She was about to introduce herself when suddenly a tall figure blocked her from view.
Mu Qingge looked up in surprise, gazing at the man standing in front of her.
The familiar exotic fragrance wafted from him, making her even more certain, ’No mistake! He is indeed Si Mo!’
"You are my wife, no doubt about it." Si Mo suddenly spoke. Although his tone was very cold, the words he uttered shocked both Lingling and Mu Qingge.
Lingling was startled because she had just confirmed that this man was heartless and indifferent; how could he have a wife?
And Mu Qingge was startled because of his odd behavior.
Though they were betrothed, Si Mo had never referred to her in that way. Moreover, although Si Mo said that his eyes were filled with contemplation rather than the usual affection.
’What’s going on?’ Mu Qingge wondered in her heart.
Their identities greatly satisfied the elder of the Insect Clan. In his opinion, the person his granddaughter saved, having such a stunning wife, would not fall for his granddaughter, and his granddaughter would give up.
The Demon Guards were fine with it, as they were unaware of the situation between Si Mo and Mu Qingge before.
However, Gu Ya and Gu Ye sensed something was amiss. They lifted their heads, secretly observing Si Mo and exchanged silent glances.
"Are you alright?" Mu Qingge calmed down and asked.
She took Si Mo’s hand, her fingers resting on his pulse point.
The coolness at her fingertips made Si Mo’s heart race wildly. He looked at the woman in front of him; the red dress was a color he despised for its garishness, yet on this woman, it looked stunningly beautiful!
A surge of warmth seemed to wrap around his heart, igniting a desire deep within him.
That desire made him want to devour the woman in front of him!
That was what he thought, and that was what he did.
Just as Mu Qingge concentrated on taking Si Mo’s pulse, a cold glint appeared in his amber eyes. Without warning, he picked Mu Qingge up, hoisting her onto his shoulder, and strode towards the wooden cabin.
As he left, he didn’t forget to instruct Gu Ya and Gu Ye, "Guard this place, if anyone approaches, kill without mercy."
What the heck!
What are you trying to do, Master?
Gu Ya and Gu Ye stood up in stunned silence, watching Mu Qingge, equally bewildered, being carried inside by Si Mo.
Five hundred Demon Guards quickly mobilized, encircling the simple wooden cabin in layers, strictly implementing Si Mo’s orders.
Lingling and the elder of the Insect Clan were also left standing there in a daze.
When the door of the wooden cabin slammed shut, the elder was the first to wake up. "Ahem... Lingling, let’s leave for now."
The elder pulled the dumbfounded Lingling to leave, while Gu Ye quickly reacted with an apologetic explanation, "I’m sorry, our Lord and Lady haven’t seen each other for a long time, and for a moment... uh..."
"Haha, I understand, I understand." The elder chuckled ambiguously and left with his granddaughter.
After they walked far away, Gu Ya said blankly to Gu Ye, "What’s up with His Majesty? Even if he hasn’t seen the young lord for a long time, there’s no need to be so impatient, right?"
Gu Ye frowned and said in a deep voice, "I also feel something is not right."
"Then should we go in and take a look!" Gu Ya suggested, eyes narrowing.
However, Gu Ye gave him the look of ’I don’t mind if you want to die.’ Now is not the time! If the two of them rush in and spoil the Master’s good time, wouldn’t it be disastrous?
Why do something so foolish?
...
Mu Qingge was carried inside by Si Mo and was directly tossed onto the hard wooden bed.
Fortunately, Mu Qingge’s body, tempered by her blood and bones, wasn’t hurt by his rough actions.
However, before she could get up, his body pressed down on hers, hands beginning to undress her inappropriately.
Mu Qingge was shocked, her clear eyes showing signs of horror. She didn’t know what was up with Si Mo, but she knew now was not the time for him to act so recklessly.
She tightly clutched her collar, while Si Mo switched to undoing her waistband.
Those slender fingers worked swiftly, loosening her waistband in an instant, making her feel a slack around her waist.
Mu Qingge gasped, a thin layer of anger rising in her eyes. She gripped Si Mo’s wrists and asked through gritted teeth, "What are you doing? Are you crazy?"
This question made Si Mo’s eyes narrow dangerously.
But still, Mu Qingge saw a hint of a bewitching color in the slit of his eyes.
"Are you my wife?" Out of nowhere, Si Mo’s light pink lips opened to pose a question.
Mu Qingge blinked in surprise. Was she Si Mo’s wife? Although they hadn’t officially married, they had long since acknowledged each other, and had been candid with one another.
"I... um..." Mu Qingge just started to answer, but the man couldn’t wait any longer and bent his head down, sealing her lips, swallowing her words before they could escape.
