Chapter 782: Chapter 217: Our Clan King’s Princess Defies the Heavens! (Part 2)
Divisions within the alien army?
Yuan Feng quickly processed Mu Qingge’s question in his mind, understanding her meaning.
He replied to Mu Qingge, "Princess, for tens of thousands of years, the alien race has been engaging in battles with the demon clan, revealing three types of troops. Two of which the Princess has personally witnessed and slain in today’s battle."
The small and large green skins!
A gleam of insight flashed in Mu Qingge’s eyes, her heart clear.
’And one more...’ she thought silently to herself.
Yuan Feng continued, "The third type is a monster about ten zhang tall. Its body is charcoal black, resembling wrought iron, lean yet incredibly robust, half-man and half-beast. They wield large hammers and possess immense strength. Most importantly, they are extremely hard to kill; typical attacks heal instantly unless shattered in one blow to ensure true death."
’Tall, immensely strong, super-fast regeneration!’ Mu Qingge narrowed her eyes, identifying the monster’s traits.
Yuan Feng gave it some thought and continued: "Generally, this kind of monster makes up a small proportion of the entire alien army. In previous battles, the most that appeared was three. Yet just three can cause a significant number of casualties to our demon clan’s soldiers, despite our focus on Body Refinement and hardy physiques. From news from the Divine Clan, when such monsters appear, there are almost always heavy casualties and intense battles."
’It seems this alien is at least a miniboss,’ Mu Qingge thought to herself.
"These are the three types that have shown up in attacks against us, but it’s uncertain if they’re limited to these. Their commander remains mysterious, never showing up in battle, always directing from within the army," Yuan Feng said.
Seeing Mu Qingge deep in thought, he held his silence.
The Four Great Vassals also observed Mu Qingge, refraining from interrupting as they waited to hear what astonishing plan this repeatedly impressive Princess might propose.
Yet, after a while, Mu Qingge still showed no intention to speak.
Yuan Feng glanced at the others, unable to resist tentatively suggesting, "Princess, perhaps we could organize a team to sneak across and quietly kill their commander, forcing them to retreat without fighting?"
"Foolish!" Before Mu Qingge could speak, She Yin harshly reprimanded him.
At his words, Yuan Feng hung his head.
But She Yin was relentless, criticizing further: "Your previous spies were all torn to pieces upon return. Tell me, how many troops, how many skilled fighters would you need to assassinate their commander among tens of thousands of alien troops?"
Su Sheng sneered mockingly, "I’m afraid your men would be dead before they even reach the alien race commander!"
Yuan Feng’s face burned with embarrassment, wanting nothing more than to find a hole and hide.
Qing Ze and Ling Jiu, too, remained silent, clearly disapproving of Yuan Feng’s idea.
Then, Mu Qingge spoke calmly, "It’s not entirely foolish."
Uh!
The Four Great Vassals looked at her in surprise, even wondering if their ears were deceiving them. Yuan Feng, too, was shocked and looked up at her.
Mu Qingge slowly raised her head, her clear, calm eyes watching them. "Have you ever heard of the story of the Trojan Horse?"
Trojan Horse?
What the heck?!
The Four Great Vassals looked bewildered, Yuan Feng was equally perplexed, and even Gu Ya and Gu Ye, standing behind Mu Qingge, displayed confusion.
Mu Qingge raised her brows slightly, knowing full well these people couldn’t possibly have heard of the Trojan Horse story.
"The tale goes that in ancient times, a nation sought to attack an enemy country. The enemy’s city was extremely fortified, impossible to breach. After prolonged assault failed, the invading army feigned retreat, leaving only a hollow, giant wooden horse. Soldiers in the city believed it a trophy and transported the horse into their city. That night, soldiers hidden in the belly of the horse crept out, opened the gates, and coordinated with the outside army to capture the city."
Mu Qingge admitted that she lacked storytelling prowess, turning such a classic military case into something rather plain, leaving the Four Great Vassals and Yuan Feng, along with Gu Ya and Gu Ye, simply staring at her.
Mu Qingge’s lips twitched sharply, feeling a sense of defeat.
The strategy room fell terrifyingly silent...
After some moments, Su Sheng frowned and said, "The people in the story seem pretty clever. But we’re defending the city, they’re attacking, isn’t the metaphor somewhat inappropriate, Princess?"
Mu Qingge raised her eyes in astonishment at him, internally grumbling: ’Seems someone understood her story somewhat, albeit not entirely.’
"Is the Princess suggesting we can also use the horse strategy to approach the alien race commander?" Qing Ze pondered and tentatively asked.
Mu Qingge raised her eyebrows, feeling touched.
At last, someone got it!
"But, how will we do it?" Ling Jiu frowned.
She Yin, running out of patience, directly said, "Princess, just speak plainly. Stop making us guess. If you have a sound plan, let us hear it. If it’s feasible, we’ll follow your lead!"
His words echoed agreement among the others.
Mu Qingge pressed her hands against the table, slowly stood up, her clear gaze meeting theirs, and said calmly, "Vassal Lord Qing Ze is correct, we might indeed employ this wooden horse tactic."
The seven present brightened, listening intently.
"Whether this strike succeeds and resolves the battle swiftly depends on the prowess of the Four Great Vassals." Mu Qingge’s eyes slowly swept over the four of them.
This sweep caused the four to unconsciously straighten their postures.
Mu Qingge beckoned them closer, and they gathered around, standing around the sandbox. Mu Qingge pointed at the sandbox and said to them, "We could do it like this..."
She elaborated on her plan which she had simulated numerous times in her heart.
The more they listened, the brighter the light in the eyes of the four people became.
By the time Mu Qingge finished speaking the last word, the seven people in the room couldn’t help but take a sharp breath.
Who would dare say the Princess doesn’t understand warfare?
Who would dare claim that the Princess only talks strategy on paper?!
To hell with that!
This Princess is simply defying heaven! They’ve lived for tens of thousands of years, and never have they seen a woman more adept in warfare than their Princess!
The strategy to defeat the enemy was at her fingertips, effortlessly crafted.
And each move was linked to the next, with plan following plan. After hearing it, they all felt that even if they were the Alien Race Commander, faced with the same situation, they would be unable to resist.
Qing Ze began to simulate in his mind after hearing Mu Qingge’s plan.
However, after several simulations, he couldn’t help but smile bitterly and shake his head. No matter how he tried to break the plan, it seemed impossible to escape Mu Qingge’s grasp.
"Where exactly did Your Majesty find such a Princess?" Ling Jiu murmured. His face, handsome like a demon’s, was filled with shock!
Qing Ze took a deep breath and whispered in his ear, "I’m curious about that too. If given the chance, I must ask Your Majesty clearly."
After all, they were all without proper wives yet; it wouldn’t hurt to visit the Princess’s homeland to find a bride!
Mu Qingge was unaware of their thoughts and, after detailing her plan, asked, "Is there anything unclear?"
The seven of them gathered their emotions and responded in unison, "No."
Mu Qingge nodded, "If there’s nothing else, then let’s execute the plan."
"Yes, Princess!"
This reply didn’t feel suppressive; instead, it stirred a sense of pride within them.
...
Wooo—!
Within a day, the horn at the bank of the Menglan River was blown.
On the hundred-foot high walls of the Demon Clan, shadows moved, and the sound of urgent footsteps continually rang.
Mu Qingge, dressed in battle armor, stood heroically on the wall, with Gu Ya and Gu Ye still on her left and right. The Four Great Vassals were also in military attire, their expressions stern.
On the wide opposite bank of the Menglan River, the thick black fog was blown away, revealing the silhouette of the Alien Race army.
Hundreds of thousands of troops appeared before the soldiers of the Demon Clan, creating a very striking scene.
Those green-skinned ones of the Alien Race were especially noticeable against the black river water. Within their formation stood five semi-beasts, each ten feet tall, matching the third troop type described by Yuan Feng.
"Five of them came!" Yuan Feng’s eyes narrowed sharply in surprise.
"Another one doesn’t matter." Mu Qingge’s expression remained steady. "Gu Ye, join them and take on one."
Gu Ye nodded silently, his imposing aura beginning to rise.
"Look, what’s flying up there?" Suddenly, cries of astonishment erupted among the soldiers of the Demon Clan.
This time, Mu Qingge and the rest noticed above the dispersing thick fog, thirteen or fourteen people with fleshy wings on their backs hovering in the air.
They looked human but had ferocious features, protruding fangs, slightly bulging eyes, bone spurs on their foreheads, sparse hair on their heads, and claws for hands and feet.
"What is that? Could it be a troop type they’ve never shown before?" Yuan Feng exclaimed in surprise.
Mu Qingge glanced at them, retracted her gaze, and in a calm voice said to the others, "Whatever it is, we proceed according to the original plan."
"Yes."
Upon hearing this, they all silently nodded.
"Listen, demons on the other side; if you don’t want us to flatten your land, agree to two conditions! Otherwise, we will launch a full-scale attack, and you cannot stop us!"
Suddenly, a voice shouted from the opposite side of the Menglan River.
’They actually have someone who can speak our world’s language!’ Mu Qingge was a bit surprised.
Qing Ze whispered in her ear, "Among their ranks, those of higher grades can almost all speak our language."
Mu Qingge understood.
At this time, the voice continued, "The first condition, hand over your Princess! Tell your King, if he wants his woman back, prepare a hundred thousand clansmen to trade for her!"
"What! Do these aliens wish to die?"
"They dare speak about our Princess like that!"
"Unforgivable!"
Mu Qingge frowned slightly; she hadn’t expected that they would target her directly.
Ling Jiu snorted coldly, took a step forward, intending to retaliate. But Mu Qingge raised a hand to stop him, calmly saying, "Let’s hear him out first."
