Chen Xuan’s expression changed instantly. In the next moment, he felt an invisible surge of Dark Energy detonate inside him. It was like a firecracker, going off with a POP that sent a stinging pain through his meridians and flesh, forcing him to stumble back.

The woman’s face tightened as well. She instinctively leaped back, landing two meters away. Her gaze was cold and sharp, enough to intimidate anyone.

"Fang Li, are you insane? What do you think you’re doing?"
Elder Ge demanded grimly, "Did you think you could do as you please on my turf?"
"Hmph!"
The woman in the goose-yellow dress snorted coldly, lifting her chin. "Why are you so agitated, Elder Ge? I simply heard you recruited a prodigy and came to test him. I wanted to see if he was qualified to be the leader of our Red Sand Gang’s Qingshui Sect. Why are you getting so worked up?"
"Enough! Now get out of my sight!"
Elder Ge barked.
Fang Li’s pretty face darkened. She shot Chen Xuan a cold glance and said, "You’re a lucky brat. We’ll meet again."
She turned and left in a hurry, acting as if Chen Xuan was beneath her notice.

’You must have a death wish.’
Chen Xuan frowned and looked at Elder Ge. "Who is she? Why did she attack me?"
"It’s nothing. She’s the daughter of one of the gang’s elders. She’s been trying to secure this sect leader position for her younger brother. According to the rules, if we didn’t find a new sect leader within half a month, the position would have gone to her brother."
Elder Ge said indifferently.
This was a power play between factions within the gang.
