Chapter 1575: Chapter 1575: Knight in Shining Armor

Trevor is undoubtedly a person who never relies on luck; he follows the rules and is a law-abiding citizen, someone you can depend on.

Janelle Mills met his gaze and couldn’t help but smile even brighter, "Yes, you have to drive!" She said cheerfully while biting on a skewer, "You’re the guardian of the flower, so you must stay sober."

Trevor is quite reliable.

So, she poured him a glass of water, "Come on, let’s toast to the progress in Old Mills and Sister Sterling’s relationship. Let’s set a small goal to have them wed within a month!"

Trevor raised his teacup, "Then we need to work hard and keep up the effort." He lightly clinked it against her beer can, "Do you remember when your dad planted roses all over the yard?"

"Yes, I remember." The girl nodded, "With such cold weather, I hope they haven’t been damaged."

"No, your dad will take good care of them." Trevor asked, "Your mom doesn’t know about this, right?"

Janelle thought for a moment, "Probably not, I feel she doesn’t know."

"So, this is our chance to make use of the momentum and let her know about it in a fitting way, so she’ll be moved." Trevor reminded, "We need to think of a way."

"Yes! Done!" Janelle Mills was particularly happy, "Come, cheers!"

"I didn’t expect you to be able to drink." Trevor was a bit surprised and clinked glasses with her.

"Just a little, I’m in a good mood today, couldn’t help myself!" She smiled with squinted eyes and told him, "I’m finishing mine, it’s up to you."

She was so genuine in front of him, how could he not love her?

She took a sip of beer and then a bite of the skewer, smilingly saying, "Anyway, you’re here by my side, with a guardian like you, even if I get drunk, I won’t end up wandering the streets."

"No worries, I’ll protect you." Trevor hadn’t eaten much of the skewers; he wasn’t accustomed to such strong flavors but really enjoyed the feeling of being with her.

Just like this moment, every second felt particularly comfortable to him, without work pressures or any worries.

Janelle Mills’ alcohol tolerance was truly poor, having only drunk two cans, she was already feeling a bit light-headed, "Trevor, you’re really handsome, did you realize that yourself?"

"I rarely look in the mirror."

"Why not?"

"It’s a waste of time."

She gazed at him starstruck, having eaten most of the skewers that she ordered.

"Boss, check please!" In the end, Janelle rose with the table for support, exuding a heroine-like aura; she almost lost her balance.

"Careful!" Trevor got up and held her, "Let’s go, I already paid the bill, be careful."

"When did you pay?" Janelle Mills followed him, staggering a few times into his embrace, struggling to lift her eyes to see his handsome face, joking, "Tell me, are you trying to take care of me?"

"If you say so, then yes, you’re always right." Trevor opened the car door and helped her into the passenger seat, "Lift your leg, be careful."

He fastened her seatbelt, noticing she had closed her eyes and fallen asleep. He took a blanket to cover her.

With such high intensity fun for half the day, she must be very tired, right?

Trevor returned to the driver’s seat, started the car, and headed toward the villa community’s townhouses.

Along the way, he reached out to hold her hand, found it a bit cold, and quickly turned on the heater.

On the way to send her home, the car speed was always slow. Trevor particularly enjoyed every second of being with her, even just without talking; as long as she was by his side, he felt at ease.

About twenty minutes later, the car stopped in the courtyard in front of the townhouse. He saw the whole building was pitch-black, with no lights turned on.

Apparently, Auntie Sterling wasn’t home.

"Janelle." Trevor turned sideways and held her hand, "Janelle, wake up."

The girl was sleeping drowsily but still heard his voice. She hummed while leaning in the seat, but didn’t open her eyes, and her head remained heavily dizzy.

"Janelle, your mom isn’t home. When will she be back?" Trevor patiently asked, "Did you bring the keys? Shall I escort you upstairs first?"

"She went back to Korland..." The girl answered lethargically, eyes closed.
