Chapter 512: Just leave me alone

Ki-hoon didn’t back down. He stayed planted like a wall between Seo-Jun and me. "He isn’t a toy," Ki-hoon repeated, his voice vibrating with a deep, low anger. "And I’m not asking you. I’m telling you."

Seo-Jun just laughed and shoved Ki-hoon’s shoulder. It wasn’t a hard shove, but it was enough to show he wasn’t afraid. "You think because you’re the top Alpha this year, you can just call dibs? That’s not how this works."

Jin-Yeok moved closer to the bed, his shadow falling over my shaking legs. "Seo-Jun is right, in a way," he said smoothly. "Now that we know who Jo-Pil really is—the son of a man who works for our families—it changes things. He’s already part of our world. He belongs in our circle, one way or another."

"He belongs in his own life!" I shouted, though my voice cracked at the end. I was so sick of them talking about me like I was a prize or a piece of land they were fighting over.

Min-Cheol, who had been quiet, suddenly hopped onto the edge of my bed. I flinched, pulling my feet away. "Don’t be like that, Bunny," he said, his eyes scanning my red, teary face. "We aren’t saying we’re going to throw you away. We’re saying we all want to keep you."

"I don’t want to be kept!" I yelled, hot tears spilling over again.

Seo-Jun reached around Ki-hoon, his fingers grazing the hair near my temple. Ki-hoon swatted his hand away instantly, and the two of them squared up, their chests heaving. The air in the tiny room felt like it was catching fire.

"Look at him," Seo-Jun hissed, pointing at me. "He’s terrified, he’s crying, and he’s wearing a blazer that costs more than his dad makes in a month. He’s already ours, Ki-hoon. You can pretend to be the hero, but you were right there with us last night. You took your turn just like the rest of us."

Ki-hoon flinched, his face turning pale. It was the truth, and it clearly hurt him to hear it. He looked back at me, his eyes full of pain.

"Jo-Pil..." he started, but I just looked away. I couldn’t handle the ’protection’ and the ’predatory’ looks at the same time.

"Get out," I whispered, my head in my hands. "All of you. Just leave me alone."

"Not happening," Seo-Jun said, his voice dropping to a serious, dark tone. "From now on, you don’t stay in this dump. You’re moving back to the suite. If we have to share you, we’re doing it where we can keep an eye on you."

The silence that followed Seo-Jun’s demand was broken by a sudden, synchronized chorus of pings.

Ping. Ping. Ping. Ping.

The sound was sharp and mechanical, cutting through the thick tension. Every Alpha in the room reached into their pockets at the same time. I watched, my heart hammering against my ribs, as they all pulled out their phones.

The room went deathly still as they read.

I looked at Ki-hoon first. His face, which had been so full of regret and protection just a second ago, drained of all color. His eyebrows pulled together, his lips thinning into a sour, disgusted line. He looked confused—and then, he looked sick.

Behind him, Jin-Yeok’s eyes widened, his usual "gentleman" mask cracking. Min-Cheol stopped swinging his legs on my bed, his phone glowing against a face that had gone completely pale.

Then, the silence was shattered by a loud, jagged laugh.

Seo-Jun threw his head back and cackled. It was a dark, ugly sound that made the hair on my arms stand up. He looked at his phone, then looked at me, his eyes dancing with a new, terrifying kind of light.

"Jo-Pil," Seo-Jun said, his voice shaking with amusement. "Tell me. Who really are you?"

"What?" I stammered, my confusion making my head spin. "I... I told you. I’m just—"

"Who are you that the old man would personally reach out?" Seo-Jun interrupted, stepping closer.

Ki-hoon didn’t wait for Seo-Jun to finish. He turned toward me, his hand trembling slightly as he held his phone out so I could see the screen. It was a message from his father—the man who ruled over all four of them, the man my own father worked for.

I looked at the text. My breath hitched.

"Stop the games. Bring the gardener’s son to the main estate immediately. He is more important than you realize."

My stomach dropped. It wasn’t just a message to Ki-hoon. It was a message sent to all of them. Their father—the man who shared their blood but kept them like competing hounds—knew I was here.

And for some reason, I wasn’t just the servant’s son anymore.

"The gardener’s son..." Jin-Yeok whispered, looking at me like I was a puzzle he couldn’t solve. "Why would he want you?"

I stared at the screen, the words blurring as fresh tears pricked my eyes. I didn’t have an answer. I was just a wallflower. I was just a boy who hid behind glasses.

"I don’t know," I choked out, looking up at Ki-hoon’s sour, pained expression. "I swear, I don’t know!"

Seo-Jun’s grin only grew wider. "Well, it looks like our little shared toy is actually a VIP. Pack your things, Bunny. The big boss wants to see his favorite servant’s son. And yes, I mean you."

My heart was racing, and my head was spinning. All this... What in the world was going on?

Why wouldn’t their father ask for me?

I could only get those answers once I get back to the Estate. Because even these four did not know why I was being called.

The drive to the main estate was suffocating.

I sat in the middle of the back seat, sandwiched between Ki-hoon’s stiff silence and Seo-Jun’s restless energy. No one spoke. The only sound was the hum of the luxury car’s tires against the pavement. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

When we arrived, the Great Hall felt colder than usual. Their father—the Chairman—sat behind a massive mahogany desk, looking at us like we were pieces on a chessboard. My father stood off to the side, his head bowed, his hands shaking but not from fear. Probably from something that had to do with the strain of his everyday work.

"You’ve made a mess," the Chairman said, his voice was rough like a growl. He tossed a medical report onto the desk. "The doctors confirmed Jo-Pil’s biology. He is an Omega with a high breeding rate, and all he needs is a single night with an Alpha to conceive. After what you all did last night, the probability of a successful conception is already certain. Jo-Pil is pregnant."
