Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Beating Up “Madelyn”
When Madelyn saw Homelander come in, her eyes filled with regret and terror. Tears streamed down her face as she begged,
"I’m sorry, Homelander... I’m so sorry..."
Homelander slowly walked closer, his voice heavy with pressure.
"You lied to me this whole time... You took my son from me. You hid the fact that my father was still alive... You treated me like a dog whose only purpose was to work himself to death for you. And only now are they finally back with me..."
"It was all my fault! I deserve to die! I’m so sorry..."
Madelyn wept pitifully.
If this had been the old Homelander, he would have been holding Madelyn and sobbing by now, maybe even sucking on her fingers for comfort.
But now.
"Bam!"
Homelander stepped forward and slammed a right hook into Madelyn’s face.
He controlled his strength with terrifying precision, just enough to hurt her badly without killing her on the spot.
"Gah!"
Madelyn screamed as she was sent flying, smashing hard into the wall.
"You goddamn bitch! Fuck! Fuck!"
Homelander rushed after her.
"Bam! Bam! Bam!"
He punched her again and again, venting the rage burning inside him.
Yes. This was it.
Homelander cursed as he beat her.
Until...
"Gaaah... aaah..."
Madelyn had been beaten black and blue, and she finally couldn’t take the punishment anymore.
With a strange gurgling sound, like flesh and bone twisting under the skin, the woman on the floor suddenly began to change.
In the blink of an eye, "Madelyn" disappeared, replaced by a huge, bloodied fat man, his whole body trembling, weighing well over three hundred pounds.
So this Madelyn had been Doppelganger.
"Mr. Homelander! Please, stop! I really can’t take anymore!"
Doppelganger clutched his completely deformed, swollen face and screamed for mercy on the floor like a pig being slaughtered.
"It hurts... My ribs are broken... If you keep hitting me, you’re really going to beat me to death..."
Seeing the fake return to his original form, the rush Homelander had been enjoying from his revenge was instantly ruined.
He stood up and shook the blood from his hands in disgust.
"Change back."
Homelander’s order was ice cold.
"No! No, sir!"
Doppelganger scrambled backward in terror.
"I’m seriously dying here! My face is swollen up like a balloon, and I had to hold that pose the whole time you were hitting me. I’m completely wiped out, body and mind. I really can’t take any more!" freёwebnovel.com
Homelander took a deep breath.
He walked over to the leather sofa and sat down, pulled a photo from a hidden layer of his Supersuit, and tossed it in front of Doppelganger with a sharp slap.
The person in the photo was Becca.
"I’ll let you off today."
Homelander leaned back on the sofa, staring at Doppelganger with contempt. After all, Doppelganger used to do Madelyn’s dirty work, and he had done plenty of disgusting shit. Homelander had hated him for a long time.
Even The Deep was more normal than this guy.
"Rest for a few days. Then, once the injuries on that fat body of yours heal up, turn into Stan Edgar. And Becca."
"Those two have been pissing me off for a long time too. I’m going to beat them as well."
Homelander spoke slowly.
"Yes, yes! Mr. Homelander! I promise I’ll do it!"
Doppelganger let out a breath of relief. He was a supe, after all. Injuries like this should heal on their own in a few days.
To stay alive, he gritted his teeth and forced himself up from the floor.
With another gurgling sound of twisting muscle, Doppelganger transformed back into the battered "Madelyn."
He slipped into the role with practiced ease.
Madelyn knelt at Homelander’s feet, slapping herself hard across the face over and over while confessing loudly in a voice full of sincerity and humility.
"It was all my fault! I’m the fakest, most worthless woman alive! I deserve every bit of this. I’m sorry, Mr. Homelander..."
Watching this, Homelander’s anger gradually faded. Before long, he left Doppelganger’s room.
Only after Homelander was gone did Doppelganger finally breathe out and return to his original form.
"Phew..."
Lingering fear covered Doppelganger’s face. If Homelander hadn’t come back to his senses just now, he probably really would have died.
Before this, Doppelganger had thought Homelander was keeping him hidden so he could turn into Madelyn, or some other woman, and do all kinds of weird shit.
But no. Turns out he wanted him to turn into people he hated so he could beat the hell out of him.
Wasn’t that fucking insane?
Doppelganger shook his head helplessly. But the guy was the strongest supe in the world. What the hell could he do to stop him?
The Peninsula Hotel, penthouse suite.
On the wide, soft bed, messy silk sheets lay scattered everywhere.
The air was thick with the heavy scent of hormones and alcohol.
Benjamin was bare chested, leaning comfortably against the headboard.
One of his thick arms was wrapped possessively around Starlight’s smooth, pale shoulder. His other hand held a cigar, and he exhaled a dense smoke ring in pure satisfaction.
Now this... this was what you called living.
Benjamin sighed inwardly.
Since crossing over, he had no shortage of women, no shortage of pleasure, and on top of that, he had one hell of a capable son.
Benjamin felt like he was starting to drown in luxury.
Still, Vought’s profits had definitely dropped a lot recently. It wasn’t just because of the falling stock price. A bigger reason was that the film release schedule had slowed down, since the superheroes were spending most of their time dealing with Supervillains.
But it didn’t matter. Once they dealt with the Church of the Collective, there would probably be another huge pile of money coming in.
And there was one more thing.
All research on Compound V, along with all human trials, had been suspended. But that didn’t mean Benjamin would never research it again. If possible, the best outcome would be finding a way to develop Compound V without doing anything cruel or immoral.
Maybe, with the power of Compound V, they could invent something that actually helped people.
For example, improving physical condition, or extending lifespan?
Of course, that would definitely take a long time. After all, they weren’t doing human experiments like in the original series.
But that didn’t matter. The one thing Benjamin had plenty of was time.
Right then.
Starlight was nestled against his chest, and her beautiful big eyes were still flickering with dazzling white light from time to time. frёeωebɳovel.com
"Heh."
Benjamin took a drag from his cigar. Watching Starlight’s eyes flicker on and off like a flashlight, he couldn’t help letting out a low laugh, his tone teasing.
"Annie, I’ve seen a lot of shit in my life."
"But I’ve gotta admit, for a few seconds back there, I really thought somebody had tossed a couple flashbangs by the bed."
Starlight instantly blushed and said, "Stop it! I can’t help it... Sometimes when I get too worked up, my powers just slip out on their own."
Thinking back to how she had lost control and started glowing because of that overwhelming feeling of being conquered, Starlight felt horribly embarrassed.
And the aftereffect was way too strong.
"Don’t worry. I’ll let you light up again in a bit..."
