Chapter 19: The Heat In The Cave

The water in the pond had almost dried up, so they could only wash their faces, hands, and legs. After that, Ikarus lit a few wooden sticks that looked like incense. A soft, calming scent slowly filled the air, making Maeve feel a little more relaxed.

"So... do we kiss now?" Maeve asked awkwardly.

The two of them were kneeling together in front of the altar, but for some reason, Maeve felt so nervous as if they were sitting in front of countless people.

Ikarus gave a small nod. "Yes." His golden eyes stayed on Maeve, filled with an emotion she couldn’t fully understand. "We need to kiss to seal our marriage."

Maybe it was because of the burning wooden incense, or maybe because of the strange aphrodisiac scent filling the cave, but the longer Maeve looked at him, the harder it became to look away.

’Damn it... are we really doing this?’ Maeve screamed internally. ’So I’m seriously not going to be a virgin anymore?’

As if Pinky could hear her panic, the little creature suddenly floated around excitedly.

[Energy Potion Activated!]

[Golden Potion Activated!]

[Host’s body is fully prepared for mating for the next twenty-four hours! Are you sure you don’t want to drink the Love Potion too, Host?]

Pinky spun happily in the air, clearly trying to tempt her.

Maeve instantly refused. ’Why would I want my body to become even MORE sensitive?! This stupid aphrodisiac smell is already making me lose my mind!’

Honestly, she still wasn’t even sure if taking those potions was a good idea, but whatever. She just wanted to get this over with already.

It wasn’t like she had high expectations for sex anyway. Maeve had always thought she simply didn’t have much libido.

Even when she masturbated, she barely felt anything so explosive, so she naturally assumed sex probably wouldn’t feel that different for her either.

"Okay, then..." Maeve muttered, her face burning red. "You can kiss me."

Ikarus didn’t say anything, but he slowly leaned closer to her. Maeve immediately shut her eyes tightly and pressed her lips together nervously.

A moment later, she felt his warm lips touch hers. The size difference between them was honestly ridiculous. It almost felt like he could completely swallow her whole if he wanted to, yet strangely enough, she didn’t feel scared at all.

Instead, the kiss felt weirdly addictive. Maeve could swear to every god in existence that she suddenly didn’t want him to stop kissing her.

Ikarus gently held her cheeks, tilting her face upward so he could deepen the kiss properly. When he softly tugged on her lower lip, his tongue brushed against both her upper and lower lips before slowly slipping into her mouth.

Her hands stayed awkwardly at her sides because she genuinely had no idea what she was supposed to do with them.

Maeve’s eyes flew open instantly. ’WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?!’ she screamed internally.

[Would you like to activate Ghost Mode, Host? Pinky will no longer be visible or able to talk to you until the mode is turned off.]

Maeve almost cried. Why didn’t this damn puffball tell her about that feature from the very beginning?!

[It can only be activated during intimate moments, Host!]

[During normal situations, Pinky would never dare leave you alone, Host.]

Honestly, Maeve didn’t really want Pinky to leave either, but this was absolutely not the time to argue about it.

’Just activate Ghost Mode already.’

[Ghost Mode activated!]

The moment Pinky said that, the little puffball slowly vanished into the air. It was probably still floating somewhere nearby and silently watching her, but whatever.

Out of sight, out of mind.

"We have sealed our marriage bond," Ikarus said softly after pulling away from her lips. "The bond may not be visible to the naked eye, but this cave can sense it. You will probably start feeling heat inside your body soon."

"But don’t be afraid." His hand slowly moved from her cheek down to her bare shoulder. "Nothing bad will happen to you."

Well... Maeve probably would have believed him if she hadn’t noticed the very OBVIOUS bulge underneath the cloth wrapped around his waist.

She used to think ridiculously huge sizes only existed in absurd romance comics or novels, but she had never expected to witness one with her own eyes.

"I... I see," Maeve muttered awkwardly. Her eyes kept nervously moving between his face and... lower.

Was it rude to stare? Probably.

Did that stop her? Absolutely not.

"But... do you also feel hot inside your body?" she asked carefully.

’I mean, he had gotten that big. There was no way he wasn’t affected too, right? But strangely, he still looked so calm.’

His skin hadn’t even turned red! Blue people could still blush, right?

"I feel it too," Ikarus said in a low voice, barely above a whisper. His eyelids lowered slightly as he continued, "My body feels like it’s burning from the inside."

Maeve finally gathered enough courage to touch his arm. The moment her fingers brushed against his skin, she almost pulled back in shock. His body was incredibly warm, almost like he had just climbed out of a hot spring.

"I didn’t have the courage to tell you this before," Ikarus continued in a deeper voice. "But... there’s something about my body that may look strange to you."

He paused for a second before adding, "I hope you won’t be disgusted by me."

Maeve frowned immediately. "What are you talki—"

She froze before she could finish her sentence because something suddenly moved behind him.

A second later, several tentacles slowly emerged from behind Ikarus’s back. There were six of them. Their color was bluish and slightly transparent, almost glowing faintly in the darkness. But what shocked Maeve the most was the ends of the tentacles.

They didn’t look frightening at all. Instead, the ends looked like tentacle-hands with small nodes on them.

Maeve’s eyes widened so much they almost hurt. ’W-What? What?! What the hell is this?!’

He had tentacles? Okay, yes, that was definitely weird, very weird.

But somehow... instead of feeling disgusted, Maeve found herself becoming incredibly curious about what those tentacles could actually do.
