Chapter 106: 106: Cemented Legacy

"There’s something I need to do first," Anna announced to the room. She pulled back from Kai, walked over to her desk and picked up the neatly folded piece of paper. "I have somewhere to be,"

"You’re going to see Leon." Kai said immediately. He hasn’t spoken harshly, but his sudden tone caused Anna to flinch.

"I’ll be fine," she said, avoiding their eyes.

"I’m coming with you," Kai and Ray said at the same time.

"No. I’m going alone."

"No way." Kai shot back. "What if he tries something stupid? What if you’re hurt?"

"I won’t be," Anna said, clenching her fist, rumpling the paper. "The whole kingdom knows I tried to kill my sister. If he tries anything then...well let’s say I won’t have attempted murder on my hands again."

The room fell silent. Kai and Ray exchanged worried glances.

Anna knew she had to do this. A final goodbye to Leon. And maybe a fuck you in his face too.

So without waiting to hear anything else, she walked out of the room. On her way out, Drax shot a pointed glance her way. She pretended not to see it.

Steadily, she made her way to the barracks, ignoring the looks and whispers from all the shameless servants. That wasn’t her issue right now. She frankly couldn’t be bothered with how excited she was. Not only was she going to start life afresh in a new place, she was also divorcing an abusive husband.

It reminded her of her past life, when she finally mustered the courage to break up with her cheating husband. The joy and freedom she felt, but also the crippling anxiety and fear. She worried if she was going to be alright somehow.

But as the weeks turned into months, she found that she worried for nothing.

She was fully positive the same would happen with Leon.

So when she arrived at the barracks and the soldiers informed her that they hadn’t seen Leon in two days, her excitement vanished and she recoiled.

"Where could he be?" She asked.

The soldiers had the decency to keep their biting remarks to themselves and force their faces to remain stoic. "We suspect he’s still at his residence, recovering after the last time." One of them said, placing emphasis on ’last time’. Anna didn’t need a fortune teller to understand the hidden meaning in their words.

Instead of dwelling on it she smiled. She needed to give Leon this letter in person. See the look on his face. "In that case, I’ll go to him."

The solider nodded and walked off without her dimissing him.

Oh well. I’m not a princess anymore, not that I blame any of them.

So Anna made her way to Leon’s residence.

It dawned on her that she’d never been here before. Not even Orchid had gone to Leon’s residence. Why? Anna didn’t know. But somehow she felt an icky feeling as she made her way there.

Suddenly, a dark shadow moved at the corner of her eyes. She turned in time to catch a flash of black, membranous wings vanishing down a corner.

Shaking her head, she sighed. Ray. She knew deep down that they wouldn’t let her walk into the lions den unprotected.

Her heart warmed and she felt all fuzzy, knowing that someone was looking out to her.

Arriving at Leon’s residence, Anna was stunned to see how lovely it was. He got a whole house to himself, and the compound was neatly kept, the house spotless and neat. She walked to the front door and knocked, waiting.

There was no response.

She knocked again. And again. And again.

Nothing.

She went at it for a full two minutes, calling out his name to no avail.

"The hell? Is he dead already?" Anna muttered to herself, her knuckles aching and her arms exhausted.

After two more minutes with no reply, she decided maybe, it wasn’t so important.

Just as she turned to leave, she heard her name.

Anna

"Huh?" She turned around, looking around her for the person that had called her name. But there was no one around but her, and Ray hiding in the corner behind a bush thinking she didn’t see him.

She heard that voice again. Anna, help me.

It sounded light, like it was coming inside her head.

Anna.

Please.

Help me.

Anna please. Help me. Help me. Help me.

A cold sweat appeared on her brow despite the heat of the day. She looked around her frantically, her heart thumping in her chest.

"System? Is that you?"

Anna shook her head, brushing off the System’s mechanical voice. The difference was clear. The voice calling her name sounded like someone crying softly, a world of difference from the System’s mechanical tone.

He’s going to kill me....

Anna gasped, her heart plummeting into her stomach.

"Anna." A voice called behind her it was so sudden and deep that Anna screamed, jumping three feet in the air before whirling around and facing him.

Leon.

He stood before her. She hadn’t even heard the door unlock or heard him come out.

"You scared me," she huffed, trying to hide her discomfort.

Leon was dressed in casual clothes, but they were rumpled. His shirt was open, and creased all over. His hair was wild, and sweat clung to his forehead and nape, causing strands of hair to stick to his skin. His cheeks were pink, and his eyes had a hazy, dazed look to them. Anna took a cautious step back, scanning him from top to bottom.

"Were you working out?" She asked suspiciously, noticing how he was slightly panting.

"Something like that," he said, sounding like he was telling an inside joke.

Anna didn’t like how he looked at her. That look in his eyes, she knew exactly what it was.

Lust.

Pure, unbridled lust.

Her eyes moved down, entirely by accident to his crotch.

Her cheeks flamed bright red as she spotted the tent in his dark pants. Immediately, she snapped her gaze back to his face. She hoped it was just a side effect of his workout or whatever. She didn’t want to imagine anything else.

"Whatever. I came here to give you this." She handed the folded letter over to him. "As of today, by royal decree, our marriage is hereby annulled."

Leon didn’t reach out to take the letter. His eyes dropped to the paper and he stared at it like he wanted it to burst into flames.

"You went ahead and did it." He said.

His voice made goosebumps cover Anna’s skin. She swallowed, thankful that Ray was around.

"Take it, Leon. We’re done." She said, shoving the paper closer to him.

He looked up and met her eyes. "I refuse."

Anna scoffed. "Yeah, take it up to the royal council."

They both knew it was impossible.

But Leon didn’t care. He clasped his hands behind him and refused to take the letter. "I refuse, Anna. You’re my wife."

"Not any more." Anna hissed through grit teeth. Mere being in his presence made her feel like a million slimy worms were crawling all over her skin. She set the paper down on the floor and stepped back. "Goodbye, Leon. I wish I’d never met you."

"This isn’t over Anna! You can’t get rid of me that easily!" He yelled after her, laughing like a maniac. "I promise you! Whenever you go, I’ll find you! You’re mine!"

Anna turner and hurried off, hugging herself, trying to ignore how Leon’s voice and threats sent genuine fear down her spine.

He can’t hurt me in the south. He can’t find me. He’s lying.

But then that voice came back again. Anna. Anna please don’t go.

Anna paused, turning around. fгeewebnovёl.com

Leon’s house? Was there someone in there? That’s impossible. Why was their voice in her head and not out loud?

Anna looked at Leon still standing in front of the house. And her skin crawled. Nope. No way. I’m not going near him ever again.

She continued walking, faster and faster, Leon’s shouts getting dimmer and dimmer till she didn’t hear them again.

Ray emerged from the bushes and moved to her side, stretching his wing protectively over her. Without words, Anna snuggled closer to him, his warmth and familiar scent relaxing her frazzled mind.

Meanwhile.

Leon walked back inside the house and headed straight to the basement.

There was Anna.

Not her. But Tristan taking her form.

Tristan sobbed, his face covered with black tears. His naked body, fair and curved and shaped like a woman, trembled on the floor. The chains still held him bound to the walls, loosened to allow him lay flat on the ground. "Please Leon...just stop already."

"Her hair is short now. And black." Leon commander, taking off his shirt and unbuckling his pants. When Tristan did nothing but sob and cry, Leon sighed. He stormed over to Tristan and grabbed his long silver hair. "I said, her hair is short and black now."

Then, Tristan began to transform again. The long silver hair became shorter and black.

Leon grinned in satisfaction, tossing Tristan to the side and grabbing his knees, spreading his legs. Every part of Tristan was like a woman now. And Leon’s eyes flashed with lust seeing the pink centre still glistening with his last release.

"Now, where were we?"
