Chapter 449: Chapter 449: One Move Short in the Game of Chess
"I’ll fake an illness." Ding Anmin didn’t want the children to pretend, and she had a bit of reluctance for the five other girls too, so she immediately lay on the ground, curling up and clutching her stomach, crying out "ouch, ouch" in pain, but her voice was quickly muffled by Yi Roujing covering her mouth.
"It’s not that I don’t want to give you a chance to perform, but you truly have no talent in this area." Yi Roujing said, finding it uncomfortable to watch.
The other five girls and four children simultaneously covered their mouths, trying to stifle their laughter, their shoulders shaking.
"Anyone with a stomachache wouldn’t just shout it out." Yi Roujing sighed helplessly, "Let me do it. This way, they’ll be less wary of me, and I’m the easiest to make a move."
Yi Roujing lay limply on the ground, her body curling up and clutching her stomach. Ding Anmin thought her actions looked exactly the same as hers.
Yi Roujing didn’t make any sound, instead biting her lip to endure it. It was already hot, and everyone in the room was drenched in sweat; Yi Roujing’s forehead was also sweating, and with her somewhat pale face, the sweat seemed like cold sweat.
"Mm—mm—" Yi Roujing endured, only making a faint cry of pain when she couldn’t bear it anymore.
"Sis..." Ding Anmin was somewhat panicked, as Yi Roujing looked too much like she was really sick. Fortunately, Yi Roujing pinched her, snapping her back to reality. "Sis, are you okay."
"Just think I’m really sick; you’re actually pretty good at acting this out. Go knock on the door." Yi Roujing whispered and then gave the entire group a signal. Everyone got into position: the four children curled up in the corner fearfully, and the five girls scattered, some unable to resist stepping forward with low questions, while others sat aside in fear.
"Open the door, open the door." Ding Anmin forcefully knocked, "My sister, my sister is sick, someone come quickly."
"Stop that." It was Niu who came, directly slapping the locked room door, scaring Ding Anmin into stopping.
"My, my sister is sick, she’s in so much pain she wants to roll around, please, come and see her." Ding Anmin said, looking slightly panicked.
Niu gave a signal to Mancao, and only then did she feel assured enough to unlock the door and enter, seeing Yi Roujing lying slanted on the straw inside the room, her pale face facing the door, curled up with her hands on her stomach, forehead covered in cold sweat, and her mouth bitten cherry-red.
Niu thought it wasn’t an act and hurried into the room asking softly, "What happened, ate something bad? Or is it that time of the month?"
"My sister’s period just ended not long ago." Ding Anmin explained, "It could be food poisoning, please take her to the hospital quickly."
Niu and Mancao entered, and the people in the room followed Yi Roujing’s initial instructions. As Niu faced Yi Roujing with her back to the others, five girls plus Ding Anmin suddenly exerted force, pulling hair, grabbing hands, grabbing feet, how could six people wrestling one not be successful.
Mancao immediately attempted to act; Yi Roujing, who seemed weak on the ground, suddenly leapt up kicking towards Mancao who was trying to grab her.
The four children worked together; one went out to get the lock, two closed the room door, and Chengcheng found a long stick outside to latch the door from within.
Niu was pinned down, feeling as if her organs were being displaced. Once the four children finished their own tasks, they found the grass rope hidden under the straw, sticking to the wall and avoiding the ongoing intense fight between Yi Roujing and Mancao.
Mancao was astonished at Yi Roujing who was equally matched with him.
The other side, several children plus six girls, tied Niu up securely with the grass rope, ensuring she couldn’t break free.
Yi Roujing, watching out of the corner of her eye, saw one had been dealt with, and directly kicked Mancao flying; strong and burly Mancao smashed into the door and knocked it open.
The group exited the room, but no one ran aimlessly; instead, they surrounded the children, forming a circle with the six girls outside, searching for any nearby tools to use as weapons, all watching cautiously at the surroundings.
"Creak" the main door opened, and it was Zhu who stepped in, holding a cigarette, looking at the scene in the yard, especially the fallen Mancao. Shocked, the cigarette dropped to the ground, but he wasn’t foolish and quickly entered the room, turning to close the main door.
"Leave Mancao to me, remember that man, don’t mess around, although he’s a man, you guys are many." Yi Roujing instructed, her eyes fixed firmly on Mancao, speaking to the six girls and children behind her.
"Got it." Having successfully bound Niu and, most importantly, witnessed Yi Roujing’s capabilities, the group’s morale surged.
Everything proceeded as planned, a quarter of an hour later, the yard contained three people tied tightly.
Even though they successfully subdued three people, everyone present was exhausted and out of breath.
"Let’s go." Yi Roujing didn’t want to waste a minute, first entering the next room to carry a somewhat despair-filled girl onto her back.
"Don’t bother taking me, I don’t want to live anymore..."
"I overheard yesterday that you care for your sister, as you chose to eat something and didn’t die, there’s a need to keep living, don’t lose yourself because of beasts." Yi Roujing said just one line, and that one line made the girl on her back cry.
"Where’s Mancao?"
"She should be headed to the city by now unexpectedly. Rest assured, we’ll find her, or we can wait at the door of this house after calling the police." Yi Roujing replied.
The group took two steps towards the door, planning to open it, but it was forcefully kicked from outside by a bunch of men holding weapons with malicious intent.
"Boss, good thing we came just in time, or the money would’ve been gone."
"Who fought them, even Mancao got caught?" The group watched the trio tied up in the yard with disbelief as they entered.
"The police are conducting door-to-door inspections in the city, and this shipment has some big connections." The boss was a middle-aged man, around forty to fifty years old, not the muscular type, more of a cunning master type. Yi Roujing’s heart sank seeing him; someone like this becoming a leader meant he was intelligent and able to command respect.
Yi Roujing’s heart sank to the bottom as she put the girl on her back down, allowing the others to support her, while she intensely stared at the incoming group and prepared for the worst-case scenario.
"It looks like you’re the leader among them huh." The middle-aged man’s face broke into a smile, a hint of regret in his eyes, "Such a pretty face, but I don’t like overly smart people because they’re hard to control."
"Brothers, this beautiful girl is yours, after having fun, sell her off."
"None of you touch my sister-in-law." Ding Anmin boldly moved Yi Roujing behind her.
"Sister-in-law?" Everyone present was taken aback.
"Damn, turns out she’s not a virgin, otherwise I would’ve gone after her long ago." Zhu swore, but his gaze towards Yi Roujing grew increasingly passionate, anyway he could still have her now.
