That, more than anything, made Qin Yuheng pause.
His grandfather held the black spear-shaped fragment in his palm and studied it under the quiet light of the inner hall. Qin Zhengyuan, Mu Qinglan, and Gu Tianhe were present as well.
The fragment was small, but its aura was sharp. Not killing intent exactly. More like an old command waiting to be given.
Qin Wanshan finally spoke.
"This came from a battlefield ruin."
"The auction said origin unknown."
"Auctions say many things."
Qin Yuheng looked at him. "Do you recognize it?"
"Not specifically. But its style resembles old military class tokens from before the current academy system."
Qin Zhengyuan added, "Battlefield command and spear compatibility. It is suitable for you, but also dangerous."
"Because of bloodline resonance?"
"Yes."
Mu Qinglan looked at the fragment.

"Can it be purified?"

The room became quiet.
He had not said bloodline.
He did not need to.

Qin Yuheng nodded.
"Too revealing."
Gu Tianhe spoke for the first time.
"Commander-type classes may create responsibility during certain Tower missions. The Tower may assign leadership objectives."
"That is acceptable."
"Leadership objectives can risk others."
Qin Yuheng looked at him.
"I know."
Gu Tianhe studied him for a moment, then nodded.
The purification of the Broken Spear Class Token Fragment began that night.
Qin Mo was involved, unwillingly at first, then seriously once he saw the complexity. The fragment contained old battlefield residue, not corruption. That made it harder. Corruption could be cleansed directly. Residue had to be separated without destroying useful intent.
