Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Blood Moon Alpha

The Blood Moon Alpha Wolf was not merely stronger than the pack.

It was smarter.

After the first exchange with Qin Yuheng, it stopped trying to overpower him directly. Instead, it circled along the canyon wall, forcing the team to constantly adjust positions. It used the remaining wolves as pressure, sending them toward Qin Mo and Qin Yuchen while waiting for openings to strike Qin Lian.

It had recognized the scout as the easiest target to isolate.

But Qin Lian was no longer easy prey.

The Silent Moon Shadow Cloak reduced her presence, making it difficult even for the Alpha to track her continuously. Each time the wolf focused on her, she vanished into the canyon shadows. Each time it turned away, her daggers struck its blind side.

The battle became a contest of patience.

Qin Yuheng refused to chase recklessly.

The Blood Moon Alpha wanted to pull him away from the choke point. If he followed, the remaining pack could break through and attack Qin Mo. So he held the center, forcing the Alpha to come to him.

Qin Yuchen understood his role without needing instruction.

He stabilized the line, killing wolves that slipped past Qin Yuheng and protecting Qin Mo’s formation setup.

Qin Mo, despite constant complaints under his breath, performed extremely well. His Iron Pulse Formation Belt allowed him to set small restraint marks quickly. He used anti-berserk powder, flash marks, and slowing lines to limit the pack’s movement.

The wolf pack weakened.

The Alpha grew more impatient.

Its crimson horn glowed.

Qin Yuheng felt danger.

[Warning: Blood Moon Charge.]

The Alpha lowered its body and rushed forward.

This time, it did not target Qin Yuheng.

It targeted Qin Mo.

"Defend!" Qin Yuheng shouted.

Qin Mo activated two Defensive Talismans immediately.

The Alpha crashed into the first barrier.

It shattered.

The second cracked.

Qin Yuchen moved in front of Qin Mo, sword raised.

The Alpha’s claw struck his blade and forced him back.

Qin Yuheng arrived with Thunder Shadow Flash.

His sword cut into the Alpha’s flank.

Blood sprayed.

The Alpha twisted and bit toward his shoulder.

Qin Yuheng raised his left arm. A talisman flashed, absorbing the worst of the bite. He used the brief contact to drive thunder through the beast’s jaw.

The Alpha snarled and retreated.

Its movement slowed slightly.

Qin Lian appeared behind it.

Her dagger pierced the wound Qin Yuheng had opened.

The Alpha roared and swung its tail, forcing her back.

Qin Yuheng saw the boss’s aura flicker.

The destroyed nests had weakened it, but Blood Moon energy was trying to repair its strength.

They could not prolong the fight forever.

"Qin Mo," Qin Yuheng said, "can you suppress the Blood Moon aura around it?"

Qin Mo looked up.

"With what?"

Qin Yuheng threw him three Blood Moon Cores.

"Reverse these."

Qin Mo stared.

"That is dangerous."

"Can you?"

"Yes, but it may explode."

"Make it explode away from us."

"That is not comforting."

Still, Qin Mo worked.

He placed the Blood Moon Cores into a triangular formation, added Clear Blood Stabilizing Pill powder, and used a Water-Silence Core fragment to dampen the aura burst.

The Alpha noticed.

It rushed again.

Qin Yuheng intercepted.

This time, he released more of the Primordial Thunder Emperor Body.

Violet-gold lightning wrapped around his arms and blade. His speed increased sharply, and his sword strikes became heavy enough to crack the Alpha’s blood aura.

Zhao Tianyu’s Crimson Beast Blood had power.

But compared with Qin Yuheng’s SSS-grade body talent, it was only a surface flame against deep thunder.

Still, Qin Yuheng controlled the output.

No excessive aura.

Just enough.

The Alpha howled again.

Blood Moon Corruption surged.

[Blood Moon Corruption: 29%]

Close to the limit.

Qin Yuheng swallowed a Clear Blood Stabilizing Pill.

[Blood Moon Corruption stabilized.]

Qin Mo shouted, "Ready!"

Qin Yuheng moved instantly.

He attacked the Alpha’s front, forcing it backward.

Qin Yuchen struck the left.

Qin Lian struck the right.

The Alpha retreated into the triangle formation.

Qin Mo activated it.

The three Blood Moon Cores cracked at once.

Instead of releasing berserk energy, the formation reversed the flow and pulled blood aura out of the Alpha’s body for a single breath.

The Alpha froze.

Its crimson horn dimmed.

Qin Yuheng did not waste the chance.

Thunder Shadow Flash.

He appeared beneath its neck.

His sword pierced the moon-core behind its ribs.

The Alpha struggled.

Qin Yuchen drove his Iron Blood Thread Sword into the same wound.

Qin Lian’s daggers struck the horn base.

Qin Mo activated a final flash formation.

The Alpha’s core shattered.

The massive wolf collapsed.

A Tower message appeared.

[Special Achievement unlocked: Destroyed three nests and defeated weakened Alpha before corruption exceeded 30%.]

Qin Mo sat down immediately.

"I never want to see a moon again."

Qin Lian leaned against the canyon wall, breathing quietly.

Qin Yuchen’s shoulder was bleeding, but his eyes were bright.

Qin Yuheng looked at the fallen Alpha.

The drops appeared.

[Blood Moon Alpha Core x1]

[Blood Moon Alpha Horn x1]

[Blood Moon Movement Skill Chest x1]

[Blood Strength Fruit x3]

Qin Yuheng’s gaze stopped on the chest.

Another true Tower chest.

The first five floors were becoming a chain of evolved opportunities.

But before he could inspect it, the Tower panel flashed.

[Main Mission completed.]

[Optional boss objective completed.]

[Remaining time: 5 hours 12 minutes.]

[You may exit through the opened return gate or continue hunting.]

Qin Mo slowly raised his head.

"Exit."

Qin Yuheng looked at the team’s condition.

This time, there was no debate.

"Exit."

Qin Mo almost smiled.

A red return gate opened at the back of the canyon.

As they stepped through, Qin Yuheng glanced once at the blood moon.

The moon seemed to stare back.

Then the world faded.
