Chapter 32: Crimson Eyes
"So, what do you think?" William asked, locking eyes with Julia, watching the shocked expression on her face as his proposal landed.
Julia just stared, frozen, her brain clearly lagging. William reached over and put a hand on her shoulder. "Julia, are you there?"
That snapped her out of it. "Ah... sorry, I was lost in my own head. It’s just... a lot, Will. Do I have to decide now?"
William took his hand off her shoulder. "No rush. You can take your time, just give me an answer a couple of days before the trial. Use the time to summon more troops and get stronger. And don’t worry about the challenges from other lords. You can reject their challenges for now. There’s gotta be some time lapse after rejection, or else this whole system is useless."
They kept talking for a while. Julia told him not to show up in the neutral zone so much; the whole perspective of lords had changed, and anyone with E or F troops was just prey. Of course, William already knew it, and for the exact reason, he wanted to come here more.
William made it clear to her that no Lord Battles, not when she doesn’t even have a skill attack skill. That’d be suicide. After some time, they split up after saying their goodbyes.

Ever since William and Julia arrived, a pair of crimson eyes had been glued to William. A woman lounged on a bench at some distance from them. Crimson hair spilled over a short off-the-shoulder sequin dress that matched her eyes, showing her untouched pale skin.
The dress was barely hanging onto her body, showing her voluptuous breasts, thighs crossed, and long legs with red heels on her feet flashing as light fell on them. She was being too revealing for being in public, yet not a single man dared to be near her. She was sitting there alone, swirling a glass with something red that was probably not wine.
Above her head, her name glowed in white: Sara Blake. Troops: S-rank Vampires. With that rank, no guy, and not many women either, dares to even glance her way. She radiated a cold, ruthless aura. Judging by her troops, getting close meant one thing: being sucked to death.
She ran her tongue over her fangs, eyes locked on William as he faded out of sight. "Now that’s a walking delicacy. How does someone have blood that pure? The color, the flow... Mmmm. If these damn restrictions weren’t in place, I’d already be on him for a taste."
She had an OP skill that could literally let her see the flow of blood in anyone and alter the flow of it, making it either slow or fast. That’s how she’d spotted William’s blood, which he’d ended up with when he got his physique.
She dropped her glass with a look of pure disgust. "I don’t want this crap anymore." Then her lips curled into a wicked smile, her mind replaying the sight of William’s nearly black blood. "I want him. I want to wring out every last drop. But I’m not letting any trash hold a spot in my tower, either."
She flicked open her private chat, fingers dancing over the screen as she typed.
’William Hart. F-rank Fairy.’
’Send a C-rank challenge the moment the new day starts.’
’Don’t kill him, make him a constellation.’
She closed the panel, then in a low, lingering whisper. "Show me your worth, William. Prove those F-rank troops are just for show, that there’s actually something more to you. I will be sending you some challenges. Survive them all, and maybe I’ll make you my constellation. And I hope you do." Her tongue swept over her fangs again as she finished saying.

Back in the tower, William had just arrived; although he had come through a portal, he still was somehow out of breath. "What the fuck was that, Rollie?" He said, gasping for air.
[That woman in red was using her skill on you.] freeweɓnøvel.com
[Don’t mess with her yet. She’s strong. Maybe even stronger than you.]
They were talking about Sara. When they arrived, Rollie warned William that someone was using a skill on him, but whatever it was, it didn’t hurt. William stole a few glances, trying to spot who it was, and sure enough, caught sight of a drop-dead gorgeous MILF staring at him.
He couldn’t drag his eyes away from her thighs for a second; they were thick enough to choke a man, and still anyone would lay their head between those juicy pairs with heaven’s pleasure. Honestly, it would be better to die like this rather than be torn by monsters. But the second he caught her name and her troops, he wrenched his gaze away as his life depended on it.
Sara Blake. Famous fashion tycoon. Even back on Earth, people kept their distance from her, no matter how smoking hot she was. The second thing she was famous for was her ruthless reputation. There was even a rumor she’d stabbed a waiter in the eye with a fork for ogling her.
But that wasn’t why he was freaking out and gasping for air the second he got back to the tower. Right as he was stepping into the portal, something went wrong. For a moment, his whole body felt like it was slowing down, breathing became hard, and his vision started to dull. Then, the instant he crossed into the tower, it all vanished.
"Why the fuck did I have to run into someone like her already? And S-fucking-rank Vampires for troops? Just my luck. The way she was eyeing me, I swear she was picturing the best way to drain my blood." William was in full panic mode.
For once, Rollie managed to sound like the sensible one and tried to calm him down.
[Calm down, Will. There is an easy way to dodge her. Think with a clear mind.]
"Okay, okay, in... out... haaaaaah." On Rollie’s advice, William sucked in a few deep breaths. It actually helped. After a couple of rounds, his brain finally kicked back in, and the simplest solution came to him: "Fuck, I can just reject her challenges. She scared the shit out of me so bad I forgot the exact thing I told Julia." fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
This might get her off his back for now, but long-term? He needed power, and for that, he needed resources. It was time for gacha; now it was either she suck him dry, or he suck that damn lolly.
