Chapter 1073: Chapter 1073: If You’re Not Afraid to Die, Come and Try
"None at all." Aurelia Shaw chuckled, "Thank you."
Robert was taken aback, his gaze drifting aside as he ruffled his hair in confusion, "No need to thank me, I can handle such minor matters, let’s not waste time, we need to go, I haven’t stalled them for long."
Aurelia took a few steps, then turned back, her bright almond eyes fixed on Robert, her voice solemn, "I will remember what happened today."
Aurelia’s fingers brushed against Robert’s waist, a phone appeared in her hand. She quickly dialed a series of numbers, then handed the phone back to Robert, "This is my private number. If you need any help, feel free to contact me."
Robert was momentarily stunned, taking the phone with a smirk on his lips, "Giving me your private number, can I take it as a personal hint?"
Aurelia raised an eyebrow, "If you’re not afraid of dying, by all means, give it a try."
Robert was about to speak when Aurelia added, "He will break your legs."
Robert was startled, suddenly realizing whom "he" referred to, as if rice got stuck in his throat, his expression turned blue and black, "Even in this situation, you’re showing off your romance, really you’re something."
Aurelia said, "Same to you."
Same to what nonsense! When has he ever shown off in front of her!
Wait... is she referring to Alison?
He and that Alison have nothing to do with each other; it’s just that woman trying to cozy up due to her father’s good relationship with the old man, he hasn’t even looked straight at her.
This wasn’t the time to explain, "Follow me!"
Robert was more familiar with the terrain here than she was, and Aurelia didn’t hesitate to follow Robert’s figure through a long, deep passage, seeing a flash of light ahead.
It should be the exit.
"Who’s there!" A voice rang out from behind.
"Damn! We’ve been discovered! Go!" Robert grabbed Aurelia’s hand and started running, behind them, gunfire erupted, someone shouted, "The bait’s escapi...ugh!"
The person halfway through speaking then collapsed with a thud, a high heel shoe falling beside him.
Aurelia frowned, "A step too late."
Robert’s eyes widened, this... is this woman even a woman! How could she have the brute strength to knock out a grown man like that?
"You..." Robert was at a loss for words.
Aurelia raised an eyebrow, "What are you standing around for? Not escaping?"
"Escape!" Robert threw out the word and started moving, suddenly realizing he was still holding Aurelia’s hand.
In his palm, the woman’s hand was soft and boneless; her palm was delicate, akin to creamy jade.
He’d only read in books about "hands as soft as silken threads, skin as creamy jade," didn’t expect there truly was a woman’s hand like this.
Robert was a bit absent-minded, Aurelia furrowed her brows, asking, "Have you noticed a problem? Is there a trap here?"
"No...not..." Robert shook his head, snapping back to reality, suddenly realizing he was foolishly fantasizing while holding a woman’s hand, this isn’t like him at all! This woman is absolutely toxic!
Robert cursed internally, saying outwardly, "Not sure if there’s a trap, but better be careful, that old man likes to pull tricks behind people’s backs, who knows where he might have buried a trap."
"There are footsteps!" Aurelia tilted her head, suddenly said.
"This way!" Robert pushed open an iron door, pulling Aurelia in.
Once the footsteps faded away, Aurelia finally had a moment to observe the surroundings.
