Chapter 22: Yes, Fuck Me Baby!
{Six Weeks Since First Diagnosis}
There was no rain.
There were no thunderstorms.
Hell, was the sun even in hiding on this day!
Corrine glared hard at the apartment block. One she had always come to with smiles and excitement. But now, after careful consideration, sleepless nights, and being absent from work for more than a week–long enough for her employees to visit her three times to make sure she was alright...Corrine’s mind was made up.
She glanced quickly at her reflection from the rearview mirror. She had deadly green eyes, sexy red lips and even if she was terminally ill, she still looked very good and confident enough to finally face him.
’’You leave me no other choice,’’ She whispered and climbed out of her car. A dog barked in the quiet neighbourhood. She slammed her car door and headed for the iron staircase that led to the second floor. She paused at the sight of the new bar operating below his house.
Club Trouble was the name, written in shabby LED lights.
The steps groaned and clanked like the sound of a metal spoon repeatedly against a cooking pot as she moved up, her eyes fixed on the closed wooden door as she neared it.
He is home.
She paused at the sight of his sneakers.
High up here, she could faintly smell the incoming rain.
She wondered why her heart was racing so wildly in her chest in front of her boyfriend’s house. She wasn’t breaking in or anything and there was certainly not any bad blood or feud between them.
If you don’t come to me, I’ll come to you.
Corrine’s small hands balled into tight fists as she prepared herself for this.
You are mine and I love you so much.
We are going to be spending the rest of my numbered days on earth together.
I don’t care if I am tied up to a bed with an oxygen mask strapped tightly around my face.
There is only one place you belong to...
And that is with me.
Corrine pounded on the door. As if she couldn’t wait to finally surrender and give herself completely to him.
Maybe the reason their relationship was still feeling this strange was because of her stubbornness. Henry has done so much for her that she could hardly name it all. Well, there were not many things but each good deed and loving gesture meant the world to her.
There was nothing else to describe what she felt, what he felt, what they felt together except that it was love. It was real and it was present.
He had already done so much by choosing her when there were countless women more beautiful, healthier, and easier to love.
Corrine hit the door harder this time when there was no response. She stood there, shaking and already running out of patience.
What exactly had she done for him besides being a terrible, inconsiderate woman to him?
She was probably the first girlfriend on this damned earth that was yet to share a bed with her man.
Corrine’s gaze flickered about when the door was still left unanswered.
No...
She trembled this time, feeling all her composure and confidence lifting from her body.
She was ready to listen to him now.
Be a better girlfriend and even surprise him with a thought of them getting married.
Perhaps the universe might be nice to give her an extra year and then they might have a cute little daughter together.
She has already thought of the name for their child.
She reached out to wipe the tears tumbling down her cheeks and decided to pull out the spare key she had with her to his apartment.
She never thought a day would come that she would have to use this because he was always eager to receive her no matter the time of day she came. And the key, there had never been a day she hadn’t kept it close, close enough to be reminded of him.
Her one and only precious love.
Corrine jammed the key into the lock, almost hurting her finger in the process. She turned the lock and it echoed with a soft click. Her hands wrapped around the cold, silver doorknob and pushed it inward to step in.
Ruby Henry Shayme would be the name of their daughter.
Thud.
Corrine froze the moment the door opened enough for her to make an appearance.
’’Yes, yes, Fuck me, baby. Like the shameless beast that you are.’’
Henry threw his head back, letting out a deep, brutal growl of pleasure as he had a familiar frizzly blond guy with braces pinned naked to the couch.
Corrine said nothing as her eyes widened in realization. A sharp jab to her throat as her boyfriend wrapped a possessive hand around the blonde haired guy before intensifying his thrusts. Both so lost in their passion for one another that they failed to realize the third person watching them.

Henry...is...
She let out a shaky breath and for a moment she wished she didn’t have the spare key.
’’Fuck! Babe—!’’ Henry quickly got up from his partner as he hurried behind the chair to cover his manhood.
’’What the fuck, babe?’’ The guy cried out as he turned around before freezing in shame at the sight of a betrayed looking human. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Corrine stared as the guy stood up quickly and used the nearest throw pillow to cover his shame as well.
Corrine didn’t even breathe. Her eyes went to Henry in great pain as he stared at her not in guilt but wondering how she had gotten in. His deep black eyes squinted as he tried to wrap his head around this disaster.
’’The fuck is this bitch babe and why isn’t she leaving?’’
It was then Henry began to sweat as he looked between his new boyfriend and current girlfriend. The blonde haired guy frowned, daring him to tell some stupid lie.
Henry’s gaze then found hers and he looked genuinely alarmed before saying in a quiet whisper.
Looking back now to this day, Corrine would have preferred he didn’t say anything.
’’A...friend.’’
Who?
Corrine thought she wasn’t hearing right. Who or what exactly was stopping her from collapsing the moment she heard that word?
’’Friend?’’ Jax said, finding it hard to believe.
Corrine felt this indescribable pain within her. One that made her throat dry, her heart heavy and her feet cold. She knew this was her breaking point and wondered how much God intended to take from her before she finally shattered.
’’Well, then please escort your ’friend’ out of our apartment. She not only ruined the mood but I probably wouldn’t be having sex with you for the next five hours. Happy?’’
Jax taunted sourly as he stood up from the couch and carried his naked butt to the nearest room.
It was then Corrine could breathe but the breath she let into her lungs threatened to choke her.
She calmly picked up her purse, looking down a bit and thought maybe her father indeed had a foresight of her miserable existence when he told her plainly never to give love a chance.
It bites like a bitch and hurts like salt on fresh wounds.
She was really brave not to cry even if she wanted to. She took slow steps and turned around like one who had just been slapped in the face with devastating news.
’’No, babe, wait. Let me explain—-’’
SLAP!
Henry stumbled back several feet from her as his ears rang from the hot slap.
It took him five business days to realize he had just been slapped hard on the face. He looked up to stare at her in disbelief. And Corrine watched slowly as the shocked look was quickly replaced with anger and for a moment, he no longer looked dashing or handsome like love made her believe.
He was a monster.
An abusive shameless jerk.
And she blamed herself for even believing anyone in this world would want her.
That deep knowing hurt more than a blade.
She stared at her palms quickly and wondered why she didn’t dare to hit him again. The answer to that only made her sick and nauseous to the bone.
’’You once asked me if you were desirable. And I fucking lied that you were!’’
Corrine stormed down the stairs, her breathing heavy, her mind sensitive and unstable.
’’I hope you die a virgin wondering why no one will ever look your way!’’
Corrine turned from the stairs as a sob escaped her lips at the truth. Her shoulders tensed as she walked faster, almost racing to her car in shame.
’’Fucking disowned heiress! Terminally ill bitch!’’
’’Whore!’’
Corrine reached her car, shaking while trying to grab hold of her keys, sobbing harder than before. She feared not being able to move as he hurled curse after curse behind her. He was naked, leaning on the top of the stairs as he glared heatedly her way.
’’The door is still open when you age and you realize no one can love you better than I am!’’ fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
He spat and slammed the door so hard, she heard it from where she stood beside her car.
Suddenly, it felt as though every demon in the neighbourhood had awakened just to laugh at her humiliation.
Corrine then dropped to her knees in surrender. Her hands to her face as the sound of her cries reached the heavens.
Truly, what’s left for her in this world after this?

’’What did you say your name is again...ma’am?’’
It is nighttime now and another busy day at the Laundry building is slowly coming to an end. Employees began to leave, some finishing up quickly on their last work as people dressed corporately moved from floor to floor to get things done.
Red lips like rouge smiled underneath deep brown eyes behind a sexy, transparent rim of glasses.
The man standing before her couldn’t seem to take his eyes from her figure in that dark red dress as she moved one perfectly shaped long leg in fitted dark heels on top of the other.
Soft white strands of hair with those familiar yet beautiful midnight strands pooled around the figure like luscious waves.
Her eyes gleamed mischievously behind the glasses before returning to the man who was finding it hard to control himself at the sight of her.
’’Corrine...’’ She whispered shyly and the man gulped, his Adam’s apple moving as he stared at the tempting beauty before him.
’’Corrine Anais Hellworth.’’
