Chapter 76: Chapter 76 Multiple Mates Chaos

Bella’s POV

"What the hell, Parker?" I shoved him away from me with both hands.

My heart was racing as I fumbled for the car door handle, desperate to escape. But he slammed it shut before I could get out, trapping me inside while he walked around to his side with that infuriating smirk on his face.

"Do you have any idea what you just did?" I demanded, my hands shaking as I balled them into fists.

"Don’t blow this out of proportion," he said casually, settling back into the driver’s seat like nothing had happened.

"Don’t blow this out of proportion?" My voice cracked with disbelief. "Are you completely out of your mind?"

"Look, you were running from this. We both felt it, and I just helped us figure out what was really going on. Is that such a crime?" He turned to face me, his expression maddeningly calm. frёeωebɳovel.com

The audacity of this man. Instead of apologizing, he was actually defending what he’d done. As if forcing that kiss on me was some kind of favor.

"Fine. We’re mates. Happy now? Because I’m more confused than ever." I pressed my palms against my temples, trying to make sense of the chaos in my head. "Why do I have so many mates? And not just any men, but the fathers of my children. Is this some sick joke from the Moon Goddess? Am I being punished for sleeping with three different men? Or was this always supposed to happen? Was I destined to mate with all of you from the beginning?"

The questions poured out of me in a rush, each one making less sense than the last. My chest felt tight, and I couldn’t catch my breath properly.

"Hey, take it easy. This isn’t the end of the world," Parker said, though his voice had lost some of its earlier confidence.

I whipped around to stare at him, and he immediately looked away, probably realizing how stupid that sounded.

"Maybe you should talk to your parents about this," he suggested quietly.

Every muscle in my body went rigid at his words. The suggestion hit me like a physical blow.

"My parents? I don’t have a mother, remember? And my father is a complete bastard," I snapped, watching his face carefully.

Unlike Hugo, Parker wouldn’t lecture me about my language when it came to that man. He knew exactly what kind of hell I’d lived through.

"Right, your father’s obviously not the source. But what about your mother? These grey wolf traits had to come from somewhere," he said, his tone gentler now.

His words made something click in my brain, and I felt my shoulders relax slightly. He might actually have a point.

"Do you know anything about her?" he pressed.

I sank deeper into the seat, suddenly exhausted.

"Come on, I think you do. You’ve never really opened up about her, even when we used to ask," he continued, driving at a crawl as he spoke.

"Can you please just shut up? I can’t stand listening to you right now," I muttered.

He actually smiled at that, knowing exactly why I was so irritated with him. But there was another reason I didn’t want to discuss my mother. The only thing anyone had ever told me about her was that she was a whore.

When we finally reached the building, I practically sprinted to the elevator. I needed to check on my children and get away from Parker’s penetrating questions.

He followed me inside but kept his mouth shut, which I appreciated.

The elevator doors opened on my floor, and I immediately spotted trouble. Serena stood directly in front of my suite, arms crossed, clearly agitated. The Warriors hadn’t let her inside, thank goodness.

She looked terrible. Her eyes were bloodshot, veins visible on her forehead, and her entire body radiated tension.

When she saw me, her expression hardened. But then she noticed Parker behind me instead of Derek, and her posture softened slightly.

"Serena, I see you’ve been waiting outside my room. Is there something you need?" I kept my voice neutral, trying not to sound confrontational.

Her husband had been spending all his time with me lately, and even though he was my mate, I understood why she might be upset about it.

"Where is Derek?" she asked, struggling to keep her voice steady.

"Something came up that required his attention. He and Hugo are handling a situation," Parker answered before I could respond.

"What kind of situation? Is he hurt?" Genuine worry flickered across her features.

"No, he’s fine. They’re just dealing with some pack business. They should be back soon. Do you need something?" Parker’s tone was respectful.

"No. Well, yes. I need to get to the hospital. Can you tell Derek to come as soon as possible? I need him to drive me," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Something about the way she spoke made me study her more closely, but I couldn’t figure out what was wrong.

She left without another word.

"That woman gets stranger every day," Parker muttered.

I shot him a look.

"What?" he asked, following me into the suite.

Inside, Chloe was curled up on the couch, her head propped on her fist, eyes drooping with exhaustion.

"Chloe," I said softly, touching her shoulder.

"Bella! You’re back! Thank God you’re okay!" She jumped up and pulled me into a fierce hug.

When she stepped back, I noticed her mascara was smudged from rubbing her eyes.

"Go get some rest. I’ve got everything handled now," I told her, rubbing her back gently. She nodded gratefully and disappeared into her room.

Then I turned back to Parker with my most withering stare.

"You want to talk about strange women? At least Serena isn’t completely insane like Moon," I said pointedly.

"Hey, don’t state the obvious. And it’s not like I chose to sleep with her. I told you, I was completely wasted that night. She appeared out of nowhere, and for all I know, she took advantage of me," he grumbled, clearly frustrated that I was bringing it up again.

Honestly, I felt a little bad for pushing him about it.
