Chapter 233: Chapter 233

Sebastian’s POV

I had left to the lower cells where Daphne was kept, I couldn’t let them lock her up there for a long time, she was still an Alpha daughter and I can’t believe those stupid sons of mine would do this to their sister.

The moment I stepped into the lower corridor leading to the cells, I already knew something was wrong.

There were guards stationed outside Daphne’s holding area.

Not one.

Not two.

But Six.

All standing alert with their hands resting near their weapons.

And the moment my eyes landed on them properly, irritation hit me instantly.

Those were not my guards.

I recognized the black markings on their uniforms immediately.

They were Cane’s personal guards.

I kept walking toward them slowly, my boots echoing against the stone floor while the lights on the wall flickered from the cold air passing through the corridor.

None of them moved. None of them bowed.

And that alone annoyed me further.

"I’m here for Daphne," I said coldly when I finally stopped in front of them. "Move."

Nobody moved.

One of them stepped forward slightly.

"We can’t allow that, Alpha King."

My jaw tightened immediately."What?"

"The prisoner stays where she is," the guard replied firmly.

I stared at him for a second, honestly waiting for him to realize the stupidity of what he just said to me.

But he didn’t.

Instead, all six guards remained standing there like walls.

"You seem confused," I said slowly. "I just gave you an order."

"We heard you."

"Then obey it." freeweɓnovel.cøm

The guard shook his head once.

"Sorry, Alpha King."

That title coming from his mouth sounded more mocking than respectful.

"You don’t get to refuse me," I snapped.

"We do."

Anger crawled up my chest immediately.

I took another step closer. "I am your Alpha King."

The guard held my stare calmly. "You are not our Alpha."

That made me pause for half a second. Then I looked carefully at all of them again.

They had different scent. Different aura. Different fighting stance.

And suddenly it clicked.

These weren’t pack guards.

My sons had brought guards from outside packs.

That explained why they were standing here speaking to me like this.

Every guard inside this territory knew better than to deny my authority directly.

But these men?

These ones clearly answered to my sons and nobody else.

I let out a cold laugh.

"So that’s what he’s doing now," I muttered.

The guard didn’t respond.

I looked toward the cell area behind them briefly before speaking again.

"Move."

"I’m sorry but we can’t."

That single word finally snapped the last bit of patience I had left.

My pheromones exploded outward immediately.

The pressure slammed through the corridor heavily, strong enough to crack part of the stone wall beside us.

Normal wolves would’ve dropped instantly.

Most guards would already be kneeling.

But these ones?

Nothing.

Not one of them bent.

Not one.

Their expressions tightened slightly from the force, but they remained standing. Still blocking my path.

My eyes narrowed dangerously. "You dare resist my command?"

The same guard looked directly at me. "We only answer to the Triarch Alphas."

My fists clenched tightly. "You forget your place."

"I’m sorry," he replied calmly. "We’re but following orders."

That did it.

I moved instantly.

My fist slammed into his face hard enough to throw him backward into the wall.

The sound echoed violently through the corridor.

But before I could advance further, another guard rushed me from the side.

I grabbed him by the throat immediately and smashed him against the stone pillar beside me. The impact cracked the surface as he grunted painfully.

Two more lunged at me together.

I drove my elbow into one’s jaw while kicking the other directly in the stomach hard enough to send him crashing backward into the bars of the nearby empty cell.

The corridor erupted into chaos immediately.

The guards attacked together now.

Fast.

Organized. Not ordinary wolves.

These men were trained specifically for combat.

One swung a blade toward my side, but I caught his wrist and twisted it sharply until the bone snapped loudly. He growled in pain, but another guard immediately slammed his shoulder into my ribs before I could finish him.

I staggered back slightly.

That alone pissed me off further.

I drove my fist straight into his face.

Blood splattered across the floor instantly as he stumbled backward.

But they kept coming.

One grabbed my arm from behind while another aimed directly for my chest.

I released my claws immediately and slashed across the second guard’s shoulder deeply enough to tear through cloth and flesh.

He hissed sharply but still didn’t back down.

What the fuck was wrong with these people?

Normal guards would’ve already retreated.

But these ones kept fighting like they genuinely didn’t care whether they lived or died.

A fist slammed hard into my jaw suddenly from the side.

My head snapped sharply from the impact.

Then another hit landed directly against my ribs.

I growled angrily and shoved one guard off me before grabbing another by the neck and throwing him straight into the wall.

The stone cracked loudly behind him.

The entire corridor now echoed with heavy breathing, footsteps, punches, growls and metal clashing against stone.

One guard rushed low toward my legs while another came for my upper body.

I blocked the higher attack but the lower one successfully knocked my feet slightly off balance.

That split second was enough.

A brutal punch slammed directly into my stomach.

Pain shot through my body immediately.

Then another fist hit the side of my face hard enough that I actually stumbled backward.

My anger exploded fully then.

I shifted partially instantly.

My claws extended fully while my eyes burned gold.

"You stupid bastards!" I roared.

The guards spread slightly now, circling carefully while blood dripped from several of their injuries.

But none of them looked scared. That irritated me even more.

I lunged forward violently and slammed one directly against the bars before driving my knee hard into his stomach repeatedly until he coughed blood.

Another grabbed my shoulder from behind and I threw him over me brutally onto the stone floor.

His back hit hard enough to shake the corridor.

But then-

A heavy punch slammed directly into the side of my head.

My vision blurred briefly.

Before I could recover fully, another hit landed against my ribs again.

Then another directly to my chest.

I lost balance for half a second. And one of them took advantage immediately.

A powerful kick struck my legs out from under me completely.

I crashed hard onto the stone ground.

The impact echoed through the corridor.

Rage filled me instantly.

I started getting back up immediately but three of them moved together fast, surrounding me before I could fully stand.

One slammed his boot into my shoulder while another punched across my face again.

Blood filled my mouth instantly.

I spat it out angrily and shoved one off me hard enough to send him flying backward into the wall.

But even then they still kept coming.

This was getting out of hand.

I wiped the blood from my lip slowly before roaring loudly down the corridor.

"Guards!"

The sound echoed heavily through the lower halls.

Within seconds, footsteps started approaching rapidly from the upper corridor.

My pack guards.

Good.

The six guards standing against me immediately shifted their stance again, preparing for another fight.

Then my guards finally arrived.

Over ten of them rushed into the corridor quickly, stopping the moment they saw the situation.

Weapons immediately came out. Tension exploded instantly.

My guards moved toward my side while Cane’s guards stayed near the cell entrance protectively.

Nobody moved for a second. The atmosphere turned deadly fast.

One wrong action and blood would flood this corridor.

Then suddenly- A voice spoke from the entrance.

"What is going on here?"

Everyone turned immediately.

Cane stood at the far end of the corridor staring directly at the scene in front of me with a heavy smirk.
