Chapter 114: Chapter 114

Gunnar’s POV

"Mother please help him!"

Caden’s voice sounded loud and desperate somewhere above me.

I could barely focus on the words.

The pain inside my body kept getting worse every second and it felt like something inside my ribs was twisting violently.

My hands clutched my sides tightly as another wave of pain tore through my chest.

A loud groan escaped my throat before I could stop it.

I had been in many battles before. I had been stabbed. I had been bitten by enemies.

I had taken blows that would have killed weaker wolves.

But this pain was nothing like anything I had ever felt before.

It felt like my bones were cracking from the inside.

My breathing became uneven as I struggled to pull air into my lungs. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"Hold him!" my mother shouted.

Her voice sounded urgent and sharp.

Caden quickly dropped to his knees beside me and grabbed my shoulders to keep me from rolling across the floor.

My body was shaking violently now.

Another wave of pain shot through my ribs and I gritted my teeth so hard that my jaw began to ache.

"Mother..." Caden said anxiously."What is happening to him?"

I heard the sound of quick footsteps as my mother rushed toward me.

A moment later her hand pressed hard against my chest.

Her palm pushed down firmly like she was trying to hold something inside my body.

The moment her hand touched me the pain exploded even worse.

A broken groan tore out of my throat.

My back arched off the floor as my body reacted violently.

The pain was unbearable. It felt like fire was running through my veins.

"Damn it," my mother muttered under her breath.

Her hand pressed harder against my chest.

"His wolf is retreating."

Caden looked at her in shock."What do you mean retreating?"

Her face looked tense as she focused on whatever she was feeling inside my chest. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"I did not know Sebastian would move this fast," she said angrily.

Another wave of pain shot through my body and I clenched my fists against the floor.

My vision blurred for a moment.

"What did he do?" Caden demanded.

My mother removed her hand from my chest suddenly and stood up quickly.

Her expression looked serious. Very serious.

"We do not have much time," she said firmly.

Caden stood up immediately."Tell me what to do," he said.

My mother turned toward him and her eyes looked intense.

"You need to get Riley."

The words echoed loudly in the room.

Even through the pain in my head I heard them clearly.

Caden froze in place."What?"

"She is the only one who can help him now," my mother said quickly.

Caden stared at her like she had lost her mind.

"Why?" he asked."How can she help him?"

My mother’s patience snapped.

"Because she is his mate, Caden!" she shouted.

The room fell silent for a second after her words.

Even through the pain, I felt my chest ache at what she said.

Caden looked completely stunned."What are you talking about?" he asked slowly.

My mother stepped closer to him."We have to force her into heat," she said quickly.

Her voice sounded urgent now."And he will mark her."

Caden blinked in shock.

"Both sides of him will mark her," she continued.

Her words sounded strange but serious."It is the only way to stabilize him if Sebastian and the elders has binded his wolf."

Caden ran a frustrated hand through his hair."But what if..." he began before stopping himself.

Then suddenly he cursed loudly. "Fuck!"

His voice echoed inside the chamber."Riley is still there."

My mother frowned."What do you mean still there? Gunnar has returned"

Caden turned toward her quickly.

"She has to the Lunar Fur," he said.

"You know she needs it to fucking prove it to Sebastian."

His voice became sharper.

"She has to bring it back before she can officially be married to us as mates."

My mother’s eyes widened slightly."And she is not back yet?" she asked.

Caden shook his head."No."

My body twisted slightly on the floor as another wave of pain tore through my chest.

A deep groan escaped my throat.

Caden looked down at me immediately."He is getting worse," he said urgently.

My mother clenched her jaw."Then you need to go find her," she said firmly.

Her voice carried no hesitation."You have to bring her back here immediately."

Caden looked conflicted."But what if I can’t find her when I go there, it’s a very tricky place?" he asked.

My mother’s expression hardened.

"Your brother barely has a few hours left before his other identity begins revealing itself and it’ll be fatal for this pack," she said sharply.

Caden’s body went completely still."Fuck!"

My mother looked down at me for a moment as I struggled against the pain.

Then she turned back toward Caden.

Another wave of pain hit me and I gasped as my fingers dug into the stone floor beneath me.

My body felt like it was tearing itself apart.

My mother’s eyes filled with worry as she watched me.

Then she turned back to Caden again. "You need to move now," she said firmly.

"Every second we waste makes things worse."

Caden looked torn between confusion and urgency. "But if I leave now and something happens to him..."

"I will hold him here," she interrupted quickly.

"I will slow the process as much as I can."

Her eyes locked onto Caden’s."But you have to bring Riley back."

Caden nodded slowly."I will go now."

He took a step toward the door but my mother suddenly grabbed his arm.

"Wait Caden"

Caden turned back toward her. Her expression became extremely serious.

The look in her eyes made the air in the room feel heavier.

"Listen to me carefully," she said quietly.

Her voice lowered, the words sounded calm but carried a frightening weight.

"Remember you must never allow anyone to discover."

Caden looked confused."What are you talking about?"

Her eyes darkened slightly as she spoke.

"No one must ever find out the truth about your brother."

My mother’s voice dropped into a low whisper. "You must protect his secret even if it costs you everything."

She stepped closer to him. Then she spoke the words slowly and clearly. "You know that your brother is not only a wolf."

Caden swallowed hard nodding.

My mother’s eyes burned with fear as she continued. "That he carries another blood inside him."

Her voice trembled slightly before she finished the sentence.

"If Sebastian ever discovers that Gunnar is a half vampire..."

She paused for a second. Then her final words came out like a warning that shook the entire room.

"We’re all doomed."
