Inside one of the training rooms that were available to only second-year students and above, a group of students could be seen kneeling side by side. One of them especially had a very battered face as if he had been jumped by a group of thugs just before coming here.
As for the others, they only had fearful expressions and were sweating seriously.
In front of them was a young handsome man with long black hair which he tied together and let it drop over his left shoulder like a small tail.

Ferz stood silently at the back and watched, not bothering to stop Nolan or join in beating these useless people. He was lost in thought.

"Haha, don’t joke like that. I heard these students caused trouble for you and my little sister’s group, so I decided to teach them a lesson.
Nobody is allowed to mess with those from noble families, isn’t that right?" Nolan laughed and said.
Jane and the others on the ground had miserable expressions on their faces when they heard Senior Nolan’s words. They didn’t dare to speak up for themselves and just stayed silent, allowing senior Nolan to throw them under the bus.
Meanwhile, Ivan was surprised when he heard Nolan’s words. His sister’s group, only one candidate fit that spot.
"You are Lena’s brother?" He asked in surprise.
"Seems like my cute junior sister didn’t say anything about me, this makes me sad," Nolan said while making a sad face.
"What are you doing here? This building is only accessible to second-year students and above, don’t you care about the rules of the academy?" Ferz interrupted from the side.
Ivan turned to look at this cousin of his, this was the second time that they were meeting since he entered the academy. And honestly, Ivan didn’t have a favourable impression of Ferz.
"That’s not important, I felt something was wrong with how these seniors challenged my squad so I decided to come check. Should I say thanks for the five mana cores or should I be angry that you’re targeting a member of your family?" Ivan went straight to the point, not caring if Ferz was a third-year student or not.
Seeing the two cousins confronting each other, Nolan quietly moved to the side and didn’t interrupt them. Although he was friends with Ferz, this was now a family matter and wasn’t his place to speak.
"Don’t say such words without any proof, you’ll be adding more shame to the name of the Castellan family," Ferz said strongly, implying that Ivan was already enough embarrassment to the family because he had awakened as a paladin.

"You don’t mind if they leave, right?" He asked.
"Of course not, I believe they’ve learnt their lesson and won’t mess with my little sister again." Nolan smiled deeply.
Ivan nodded and then turned to Jane and the others, he waved his left hand and a few gold coins appeared in his palms which he tossed to them.
"Go to the infirmary and get treated," Ivan said casually.
There was an infirmary in the academy where students could go and receive treatments from staff with the healing element. Treatment was usually free during official events but outside those, it was quite expensive.
Jane caught the coins and gave Ivan a look of gratitude. The others also bowed and thanked Ivan before helping each other out of the place.
Ferz watched this with a disgusted expression while Nolan looked amused.
After the second year students left, Ivan looked back at Ferz.
"Those seniors will be under my care from now on, don’t bother them again. Also, I hope you don’t pull any more of what you did today." He stated, not caring that Ferz was older or a senior student.
Ferz’s eyes twitched, he didn’t like Ivan’s tone.
"Don’t get full of yourself, Ivan. You aren’t the only one from the Castellan family here, do you really think I can’t discipline my junior brother if he becomes arrogant?!" He asked in a deep tone.
Ivan smirked. He could tell that Ferz was at the Level 2 warrior rank, it was uncertain who would win in a fight between them but that didn’t mean he was afraid of the other party.
"Discipline your junior brother? I wonder what Ethan would say if he hears this, I don’t think he’ll be too happy about it." He said smugly.
Ferz’s face froze when he heard Ethan’s name. He knew how much Ethan doted on Ivan and honestly, he was scared of Ethan. That guy was ruthless and wouldn’t think twice before blasting people with lightning.
"Ivan...you really are interesting, aren’t you?" Ferz said through gritted teeth while clenching his fists to suppress the anger he was feeling.
"Well, I’m the first weapon user of the Castellan family after all," Ivan replied with a smile before heading towards the door.
He stopped right before walking through the door and looked at Ferz again.
"I hope you remember my request, cousin. I really don’t want to tell big brother Ethan that you’re bullying my friends, that might create conflict within the family." He chuckled before finally leaving and letting the door close behind him.

After Ivan left, Ferz suddenly shouted his name and punched the wall beside him with his full strength. The power of his punch was so strong that it left a fist print on the wall of the training room.
A look of rage was visible on his face. He didn’t like Ivan one bit, everything had happened because of him and his trash Paladin-class!
His father Charles Castellan was the older brother of Ivan’s father and had gone to request to become the head of the Castellan family’s main lineage after Ivan brought shame to them.
But his father didn’t return after that day, causing Ferz to become a young family head of the branch of the Castellan family that his father was in charge of.
Ferz wasn’t a kid and knew that Christopher must have killed his father along with the other missing family heads just for his son.

In the corner, Nolan looked at Ferz with an amused expression still on his face.
