Chapter 749: Chapter 519: Husbands’ Lucky Day (Part 2)
There are a lot of monsters in team dungeons, so of course the drops are plentiful too.
Qian Shanshan was actually pretty easy to find, since at this hour most normal students were in class.
The first thing Li Pu did after finding Qian Shanshan was pull out the [Fire Storage Core] that was already bound to Bubu, and ask her to have the fire element of her spirit fill it up—fill it to the brim.
Qian Shanshan gladly agreed, having no idea this would ultimately take a whole week of her fire spirit’s time.
The second thing was to ask her how to apply for a dungeon key.
Turned out this part was even simpler; Qian Shanshan just tapped a few times on her wristwatch and pulled up the relevant page.
So there was an online procedure for it, pretty convenient.
"Bring your student card over and swipe it."
She held her wristwatch out toward Li Pu.
"Okay."
Li Pu didn’t have a wristwatch, but he did have a student card.
[Beep!]
With a clear little chime, the page authenticated Li Pu’s identity.
"What dungeon do you want to reserve?"
Qian Shanshan planned to help him operate the system, so she asked.
"Third-year, team dungeon."
The answer left her frozen on the spot.
"Ohhh, so you’re planning to be the party leader."
Qian Shanshan hadn’t expected this guy to keep upping the stakes like this.
He hadn’t even cleared all the second-year dungeons yet, and he was already eyeing the third-year ones—and a team dungeon at that.
"Mm... you could say that."
Li Pu pondered for one second and couldn’t be bothered to explain in detail.
"Then is there a spot for me?"
"Add one more, Captain."
Qian Shanshan’s eyes lit up.
Thanks to Li Pu, she’d actually already earned the qualification to enter third-year dungeons; all of the first-year top ten had.
"Mm, sure."
Li Pu had just asked her for a favor, so it wouldn’t look good to turn her down.
Looking at the dungeon reservation list Qian Shanshan had opened, Li Pu thought to himself that Senior Quanshuren really hadn’t lied to him.
Most of the small dungeons for under ten people were already queued up all the way to two weeks later.
But the 20–50 man team dungeons were completely empty; not a single party had made a reservation.
"Then help me reserve this one."
Li Pu thought for a moment and decided to start with a 20-man dungeon.
"Twenty-man team dungeon, Demon Village, are you sure?"
"Sure."
"Morning? Afternoon? Night?"
"Morning."
"Okay, reservation complete. All you have to do is bring your student card to the dungeon hall tomorrow and pick up the key."
"Thanks."
After a few quick taps, Qian Shanshan finished the operation.
"Didn’t expect you to be that popular, to actually pull together a full 20-man run."
"Or are you not full? Want me to help find you a few heavy hitters?"
"Li Yilou and the others are actually pretty good."
She was clearly very interested—obviously planning to ride Li Pu’s coattails again to look cool.
"No, we’ve got enough people."
Li Pu shook his head.
"Alright then."
Qian Shanshan really hadn’t expected this exchange student to be that good at making friends.
Basically, aside from their top-ten batch plus that Turtle Guy, there were pretty much no other first-years qualified to enter the third-year dungeons.
Which meant that in just a little over two months, he’d already gotten to know quite a few second- and third-year seniors.
After finishing class and returning to the dorm, Qian Shanshan ended up unable to sleep.
Because the moment she thought of tomorrow’s dungeon run, she got a little hyped.
After all, this would be her first time entering a team dungeon; she really wanted to see with her own eyes the massive spectacle of a horde of summoned beasts clashing with a horde of magical beasts.
She’d only seen it in TV documentaries before, never experienced it herself, so it was only natural that she was excited.
In the end she felt like she never actually fell asleep, just muddled through until the sky began to lighten.
She glanced around and saw her roommates were all still out cold—one had kicked the covers off in a heroic sleeping pose, another was snoring.
Worried that she’d fall asleep now and end up late, Qian Shanshan simply got up.
She washed up quietly and efficiently, then left the dorm.
The cafeteria downstairs usually opened pretty early, though at this time even the cooks were still yawning.
Most of the breakfast items weren’t out yet, so she just ordered two steamed buns.
When you’re in a good mood, even steamed buns taste sweet.
"No way I’m gonna be late this time."
With a leisurely stride, Qian Shanshan arrived at the dungeon hall.
She planned to wait for Li Pu at the entrance to the Demon Village dungeon, but unexpectedly saw a teacher there.
Judging by the uniform, he was from the Engineering Department, not a classroom teacher.
For team dungeons that almost no one ever books, the instance is usually left idle to save energy.
Which means there’s actually no light gate installed inside the dungeon lock; it has to be mounted temporarily.
And that kind of technical work is the responsibility of Engineering Department teachers.
"Of all the times to book a team dungeon almost no one uses, why in the morning..."
"Making me get up before dawn, ugh."
As he fiddled with the device, the teacher grumbled under his breath.
Complaints aside, his attention was still entirely focused on the device.
After all, this was a dungeon passage that crossed space to connect to another world—if anything went wrong, he couldn’t afford the consequences.
"Good morning, sir."
The sudden voice behind him made the teacher’s hand jerk.
"O-oh, morning."
He turned and saw a pretty female student with a steamed bun in her mouth.
Still, this student had come crazy early.
"Don’t mind me, please go on."
After nodding to him, Qian Shanshan went and sat down, leaning against a nearby pillar.
"Oh, alright."
The teacher gave her a curious look, then shifted his attention back to the device.
Just now... which step of the inspection was I on?
But once that complicated process got interrupted, he felt a bit foggy.
Forget it, just start the inspection over from the beginning.
To be safe, he could only redo it from scratch.
That meant spending more time and probably clocking in late.
Fortunately, he was pretty experienced, and managed to finish the inspection just before clock-in time.
He stole a quick glance at the time, then hurried off.
By now the sky was fully bright, and not long after he left, Li Pu arrived at the dungeon hall with a few tag-a—no, friends.
There weren’t many of them, just Wu Guinan, Long Ren, and Chang Shoushang.
Li Pu walked in front, index finger hooked through the key ring, lazily twirling it round and round.
"You guys got here pretty early too."
Seeing them, Qian Shanshan stood up.
"Everyone’s here, then let’s get started."
Li Pu saw Qian Shanshan and nodded.
"Eh?"
Qian Shanshan froze.
"We’re not waiting for the seniors?"
She voiced her doubt.
But she immediately noticed Wu Guinan and Long Ren both looking at her with mischievous grins.
"No way..."
Those expressions made Qian Shanshan instantly realize what was going on.
A ridiculous thought surfaced in her mind.
Just this?
Five people?
This was a small-dungeon lineup—could they really do a team dungeon?
"Comrade, what’s with that attitude."
"Are you doubting us?"
Wu Guinan and Long Ren pounced on the opening like they’d found a flaw to exploit.
"Uh... no."
"Five people for a 20-man dungeon is perfectly reasonable."
"Not outrageous at all."
Qian Shanshan felt she couldn’t lose to them, so she quickly put on a supportive expression.
"Don’t count me in, I’m just the pack mule."
Chang Shoushang chimed in.
Great, so four people for a 20-man dungeon.
So basically each person had to do the work of five?
Actually, that wasn’t quite right—those three would do the work of three, and the remaining seventeen people’s work would be Li Pu’s.
Qian Shanshan’s mouth twitched.
While they chatted, Li Pu had already gone over and opened the lock on the dungeon’s fence gate.
[Cao!]
Caocao bolted through the gate first, and its gaze was immediately drawn to a thing on the ground.
It was a control panel with a bunch of buttons, a cable extending out from it and connecting to the base of the dungeon’s light gate.
It was exactly what the Engineering Department teacher, rushing off in a hurry, had left behind.
[Cao cao cao!]
Caocao: What’s this piece of junk!
Curiosity got the better of it; it picked the panel up and started slapping it around.
"Don’t you dare press anything."
Li Pu promptly smacked it on the head.
Only, none of them noticed that as Caocao slapped at the panel, the dungeon light gate gave a tiny, almost imperceptible shudder...
