Chapter 22—99.9999%
Lei Cheng sat cross-legged, focusing all his concentration on the black energy surrounding the green orb in his body.
[ Ding!]
[ You have comprehended Death Dao Intent: 20%.]
His lips curved up slightly. ’I can save myself with my current Life Dao Intent... but I don’t want to waste this opportunity.’
He reviewed his current comprehension levels. "Status."

Death Intent: 20%

He had already comprehended the maximum amount of Life Intent possible from the green orb—but he still hadn’t healed himself yet. An opportunity to comprehend Death Dao Intent this closely might never come again. He decided to use every second of it.
---
In the pharmacy room, the purple-veiled woman sat on the rocking chair, waving a paper fan lazily in her palm. Her face was calm, almost nonchalant. After a few moments, she closed the fan and stood up.
’Looks like you need another pill.’
She guessed correctly—Lei Cheng had fainted again in his Soul Space. She pulled out another elixir and dropped it into his mouth without ceremony.
---
In Lei Cheng’s Soul Space, power rushed in once more. He sat cross-legged again, calm and focused. ’I don’t know the source. But I’ll use it to the fullest.’
After a few moments—
[ Ding! You have comprehended Death Dao Intent: 42%.]
The black energy no longer felt foreign to him.
Lei Cheng opened his eyes and exhaled. ’This is the maximum I can do.’ He stopped using Instant Enlightenment—continuing now would only waste time. Another 1% would take days at this point.
He focused on the green orb and poured all of his Life Dao Intent into it in one steady push.
The green orb expanded and began to wipe out the dead black energy. The black energy was pushed back easily—but the shattered sternum, broken nervous system, and crippled meridians were stubborn, continuing to emit death energy little by little, like a dam trying to hold back an ocean.
Only for a few seconds.
Then the life energy overpowered it entirely.
The death energy and injuries let out a sizzling sound—like acid burning through metal. Zzz! A mist-like fog rose from within his body as everything began to heal. The green energy flooded through him completely.
Even the martial root bone beneath his spine began to recover. The rusty one-inch bone—previously tinged green and dull—turned white again before gradually gaining a touch of gold, shining like precious metal under the surge of life energy.
’So this is the martial root bone.’ Lei Cheng nodded to himself internally. He had always known it was embedded in the center of his back along the spine—but he had never seen it with his own eyes until now. ’Martial talent restored—and even improved.’
Years of frustration seemed to dissolve in an instant.
His smile widened.
All hidden injuries healed. Heart and lungs returned to normal. Meridians and nervous system recovered fully, and the meridians had even expanded in the process, granting him the ability to store greater reserves than before. ’I estimate my internal reserves will be two to five times greater than others.’
’Misfortune and fortune go hand in hand.’
His grin wouldn’t stop as his eyes fell on his Death Dao Intent.
’Finally—I have attack power.’ He clenched his fist. ’It’s time to counterattack.’ If he had possessed Death Intent before, inside that illusion, he would have landed a proper blow on Clan Head Nie—and he would never have come so close to losing his life.
He stood up—and fell backward.
But he did not hit the water. He kept falling through it, as if the ground had never existed in the first place.
While falling, he muttered, "Status."
---
Lei Cheng’s eyes opened to a blue screen flashing in his vision.

"I used Life Dao—but I didn’t lose any lifespan." He sat up sharply. ’Is Life Dao not corrupted?’
He had fully expected to lose two or three years from using Life Intent. His experience with Illusion Intent showed him the cost.
A soft, melodious voice rang out through the pharmacy room. "No, you won’t lose lifespan. Life Dao isn’t corrupted."
Lei Cheng jolted upright on the bed and turned his head toward the voice.
’So beautiful.’ His eyes widened. ’What is this feeling... She feels as if everyone must simply obey her.’ He shook his head. What in the world? He had never encountered anyone with a temperament like this—not in either of his two lives.
"Goddess..." he muttered. Only a celestial being could carry themselves like that.
The woman smiled lightly, raising the paper fan in front of her mouth. "Yes—this goddess is indeed a goddess."
Lei Cheng tilted his head. "Who are you?"
She closed the paper fan. "This goddess is Hua Mingyue. Remember the name." She stood and looked down at him, tapping her chin with the folded fan. "Good. You are back to full health—and your gray hair has returned to normal as well."
Lei Cheng stood, glanced around the room, and noticed the three Qian Pharmacy members standing like puppets against the wall. He didn’t spare them more than a glance. He moved straight to the mirror in the corner.
The tanned, muscular servant form of Mo Yong stared back at him.
He turned toward Hua Mingyue. "You can see through my illusion?" frёewebηovel.cѳm
"Your illusion is too weak for this goddess to even notice," she replied, the words light and utterly careless.
Lei Cheng’s eyes wavered. He removed the illusion and glanced into the mirror again. The handsome young boy with shining black hair had returned. The wrinkles had gone entirely.
He turned back toward her. His hand glowed with a cold black light, the temperature around him dropping noticeably.
"Are you a Bizarre creature?" he asked, his eyes fixed on the third eye half-hidden behind her bangs.
Hua Mingyue’s gaze sharpened in an instant. She folded her hands behind her back and snapped the fan shut. Blazing crimson energy erupted from her body. The room grew dense and heavy—ice spread outward from her feet, and in a flash, half the room had frozen solid.
Lei Cheng felt the chill reach his bones. He withdrew his Death Intent immediately.
"I meant—are you a god? A high-level cultivator?"
He changed the question quickly.
A smile blossomed on Hua Mingyue’s face just as immediately. The pressure in the room vanished without a trace. She nodded, tilting her head slightly. "This goddess does have a high cultivation level... but you are too weak to be asking such questions, you know."
Lei Cheng’s eye twitched. ’Who would expect someone to flip from enemy to friend in half a second?’
He got to the main point. "Life Dao isn’t corrupted?"
Hua Mingyue nodded. "You haven’t forgotten the main question. Hmm." She opened the paper fan and waved it once. "The Heavenly Dao is corrupted—but only 99.9999% of it."
Lei Cheng’s mouth fell open. "What’s the difference between 100% and 99.9999%?"
"There is a massive difference," she retorted, with no further hesitation. "Because the Heavenly Dao is corrupted, it cannot wield its maximum power. Heavenly Tribulation, for example..." Her palm emitted purple thunder sparks, "Before, it was based on thunder. Now it uses other attributes, because thunder cannot be corrupted." Thunder sparks vanished.
"Thunder is the righteous force—the most righteous force," Lei Cheng muttered, recalling every novel he had ever read in his previous life.
"Indeed." Hua Mingyue nodded, waving the fan. "Similarly, Life Dao, Yang Dao, and a few others are virtually incorruptible."
Lei Cheng sat down on the edge of the bed. "There’s hope—there’s actually hope!" He laughed out loud, the sound carrying freely through the frozen room. "This world has a chance to fight back against the Bizarre creatures."
’For the first time since arriving in this world, the future did not seem completely bleak.’
Hua Mingyue grinned alongside him—then her expression turned stern in the next breath. "You should remove the fox mark on your chest before it is too late."
Lei Cheng looked down.
He was still shirtless. At the center of his chest, the small fox mark glowed—quiet, steady, and patient.
