Chapter 605: Chapter 604 Zero Trust Foundation_1
As soon as Abigail said this, not only Aiden but also Qiqimora and Tony subconsciously held their breath and focused, pricking up their ears.
"Actually..." With everyone’s attention on her, Abigail lowered her voice slightly, "your residence, it seems, is being watched."
Silence shrouded the round table,
"Since when?" Aiden asked.
"I noticed about five minutes ago; as for when it actually began, that’s harder to say." Abigail whispered, "There are a few bats hanging on the tree right outside the window facing the main road, and some facing this side alley, under the eaves of the residential building opposite."
Aiden and Qiqimora simultaneously used the "night vision" magic and looked out at the windows enveloped by the night without drawing attention, indeed barely making out several bats’ silhouettes.
Without a word, Aiden continued to roll the dice—he fortunately rolled a six and moved his game piece out, then rolled again.
Knowing he was being watched, the first thing to do was to do nothing, to avoid startling the watchers.
"Familiars?" Qiqimora asked.
High-level mental spells can turn animals into familiars that share one’s senses for remote control, Presia and Daili were both adept at this, and Abigail could, with her powers, turn all animals in a large area into her familiars.
"No, those bats, they’re not living creatures."
Abigail rolled the dice nonchalantly, then moved her game piece. Aiden noticed she had moved the one she hadn’t touched much before—it was just a few steps behind his game piece—clearly, Abigail had been laying in ambush with that piece all along.
"Why are you targeting me specifically?" Aiden suddenly felt the malice of the Great Witch directed at him over the game board.
"I see, it’s the vampires." Qiqimora understood, "Has the Warden crossed paths with the vampires?"
"Have you forgotten? A cult composed of vampires who worship the Grim Reaper had come to me when they were investigating ’Black Goat’, and at that time I captured the emissary of the Grim Reaper." Aiden answered.
"Does it have anything to do with Mr. Bloodcloak?" Abigail was quick to respond. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Mr. Bloodcloak had just visited the Grim Reaper, and then vampires suspected of worshiping the Grim Reaper appeared near Aiden.
"They just happened to be surveilling Mr. Galahad today? Doesn’t that mean they saw us all?" Tony showed a somewhat anxious expression.
"No, I’m afraid they’ve been watching the Warden all along and I just happened to notice them today. They can only monitor, even High-Rank Bloodline couldn’t possibly attack a saint. Their true forms won’t be far, go ahead, Warden."
"Alright," said Aiden, and began reciting the divine words.
The power of "Law." ƒгeewёbnovel.com
He expanded his domain, encompassing the entire apartment and a ring of streets outside.
"Announce the rule, any entity within the domain that changes its own form to watch the target, must immediately appear before the watched, effective immediately!" Aiden clarified the law.
The invisible force began to wander within the domain, following the logic of the command to execute the program. They bypassed every individual within the domain who didn’t meet the criteria and quickly locked onto those that did.
It did not take long for those in the room to hear something approaching from afar—it was the sound of countless bats flapping their wings.
A pitter-patter exploded on the glass of the window, as bats crashed into it one after another, and soon with a sharp "crash," the window glass shattered, a tide made up of bats poured into the apartment suite, then converged and attacked the round table.
Aiden chanted the divine words once again.
This time, it was the power of "Return."
Time suddenly seemed to freeze, and the bats fluttering around the room, along with the shards of glass from the windows, all stopped mid-air. Then, time began to flow backward. The fragments of glass flew back into their frames, coming together as if nothing had happened.
However, instead of the bats flying back out, they were forcibly drawn into one corner of the room by a force, merging into a form—a man with pale skin and blood-red eyes. He was naked, staring at Aiden Galahad with a shocked expression.
Aiden didn’t look directly at him but continued to chant the divine words for the third time, now invoking "Punishment."
"Sentence of imprisonment," Aiden decreed.
The vampire tried to escape but ran into a "wall." A cage wrapped in chains enveloped him.
"Declare the rule, no self-harm or suicide within the domain," Aiden announced again, to prevent the freshly captured observer from committing suicide. If this guy was related to Mr. Redrobe and the Grim Reaper, he was likely a death knight.
"Exquisite," Abigail commented.
"To throw three divine words at such a minor player, are you showing off your power?" Qiqimora glanced at the vampire, "...Could this guy not appear dressed?"
"Vampires’ transformation ability doesn’t extend to clothes, which is the most awkward aspect of this power," Abigail explained.
"I was just taking the opportunity to test the power of a saint," Aiden stood up from his seat and approached the cage, "Now it’s time for interrogation."
The terror on the vampire’s face suddenly vanished, replaced by a bizarre smile.
Aiden sensed that the change in his expression was unnatural, as if some external factor was influencing his emotions.
"I won’t say anything, my faith will not waver," he hissed.
"I don’t care about your faith," Aiden said, expressionless, "Declare the privilege; within this domain, any question I ask must be answered truthfully, completely, and without deception."
No sooner had he finished speaking than he heard the two Great Witches behind him also chanting divine words.
Aiden shivered all over and turned around cautiously, only to find that after the witches finished chanting, they simply looked at him as usual.
"What are you up to?" Aiden asked, furrowing his brow.
Both shook their heads and then pointed to their ears.
"You continue the interrogation. Don’t mind us for now," Abigail said, her demeanor calm.
Aiden’s brow tightened, and then he realized, "You... made yourselves unable to hear?"
Abigail and Qiqimora nodded. They couldn’t hear Aiden’s voice but could guess he was confirming something with them.
They were capable of doing such a thing. Qiqimora could "empty" Aiden’s voice of its influence on her, while Abigail could freely transform her body to block out her hearing.
The reason for doing this was probably to prevent Aiden, who had declared the rules, from suddenly questioning them and coaxing secrets from their mouths.
"Allies with zero trust foundation, how wonderful," Aiden shook his head and turned toward the vampire in the cage.
