Chapter 56: Chapter 56 Breakthrough Core Zone_1
Mingled with the scent of herbs and blood, the potion flowed down Ophelia’s throat. Within seconds, she felt a scorching warmth rising from her abdomen, spreading throughout her limbs and bones.
The berserk magical power contained in the Magic Potion coursed through her body, and the sensation of forcibly supplementing her magic power was actually quite unpleasant.
But she could indeed feel that her magic power, which had been suppressed by the barrier, had surged back in an instant.
Her night clan powers had returned.
Then, she went to the door and began to pound on the cell door with her bare hands, trying to attract the attention of the prison guards.
The loud clang reverberated through the corridors, waking many of the prisoners who had already gone to sleep, who started to hurl loud insults at her.
The guard on duty, who had been paying attention to the alarm from the medical office, heard the commotion in the cells and came out immediately, yelling in the direction of cell number eight, "Cell eight, what are you doing? Be quiet! Did you not hear me tell you to stop knocking?!"
Instead of stopping, Ophelia pounded even harder on the cell door.
"Looking to die."
The monitoring guard cursed, reached out to pull a rope beside him, and prepared to call the riot team to drag the prisoner to the isolation room.
The riot team arrived a few minutes later than he had anticipated. The cell door gradually unlocked, and five fully armed riot team members surged in.
"Which prisoner is causing trouble?" a riot team member asked upon entering.
"Cell eight," the guard pointed to the end of the corridor.
As the riot team members gradually approached, Ophelia seized the moment and bit into her own pale wrist.
Bright red blood gushed from the wound, then transformed into a floating red blade that slashed twice, cutting through two bars, allowing Ophelia to rush out of the cell and appear in the corridor.
In fact, the moment her magic power was restored, she could have easily broken through the cell door, but she had deliberately waited for the guard to call the riot team to help her open the door.
Because the cell door had been destroyed, the alarm in the core area immediately sounded.
The sight of a red-alert-level prisoner suddenly bursting out of the cell left the riot team members dumbstruck — they had only come to deal with unruly prisoners and had not expected to encounter a prince-level vampire who had regained her magic power.
Just as Ophelia was about to dispatch them before they could close the main door again, the shadows behind the guards suddenly began to boil and surge.
The guards’ attention was still on Ophelia. Before they could even draw their guns, countless pitch-black claws stretched out from the shadows beneath their feet, grabbing their limbs and hoisting them into the air.
Ophelia paused for a moment, recognising the spell—this was witch Daili’s speciality, the shadows with the black claws were her shadow demons.
"You’ve made a wise choice," Ophelia turned her head.
The dark claws reached out from the side of cell number twelve’s door, bent the bars, and Daili stepped out leisurely through the gap.
"With such a good opportunity right before my eyes, of course I have no reason to miss out," Daili replied with a light smile.
She waved her finger, commanding the shadow demons’ claws to stuff all the guards into the surveillance room, then closed the surveillance room’s door and snapped the lock.
"Perhaps you could let me out first before the chitchat," Meiruki, who was standing in front of cell thirteen, interjected.
Although she was a witch who had reached the pinnacle of expertise with Magic Potions, demonic contracts, and Sealing Skills, she was slightly inferior in combat.
She was unable to destroy the sturdy cell door, but she knew Ophelia wouldn’t leave her behind.
The plan for the riot and escape had been her own creation, and she had found the escape route; only she knew the full extent of the plan.
"Step back," Ophelia instructed her to move back, then cut through the bars with a blade.
Meiruki walked out of the cell with composure, looking back at Succubus Phyllis, who was sitting on the bed, motionless as a wooden chicken.
"Would you be interested in joining me, Miss Succubus?" she casually extended the invitation to Phyllis.
Fille was stunned for a good while before finally lying flat on the bed with a shaking heart, and covered her head with the blanket, "I... am already dead asleep, I didn’t see anything."
Her sentence was only for a short year; she certainly wouldn’t get involved in this kind of prison breakout plan.
Being a succubus with little combat ability, she feared that a stray bullet would be enough to end her during a fight.
Meiruki was only speaking off the cuff and didn’t insist any further.
She turned to Ophelia and pointed to cell number eleven, "Let her out as well."
"Are you sure she will help us?" Ophelia was still a little uneasy.
Of the three prisoners Aiden had won over, Avansa was the one she was least sure of.
Daili and Asenna were still people with whom she could communicate, but Avansa, she had no idea what was going on in her mind.
"Just be reassured." Meiruki replied with great confidence.
Ophelia pondered for a moment and then manipulated the blood-blade to cut open the bars of cell number eleven.
Avansa appeared at the door; she didn’t come out immediately but instead looked out at the three people outside with suspicion.
At that moment, Meiruki approached with a smile, opening her arms, "Come, Vannie!"
Memories revived in an instant, and Avansa seemed to awaken abruptly, "Mom?"
"Come here, it’s time to go home." Meiruki opened her arms toward her.
Avansa looked at Meiruki bewilderedly and hesitated for a moment.
Her mother was actually prepared to take her away from this prison.
Yet, faintly, she remembered Aiden’s warning that she must not leave this prison.
Seeing no response from her, Meiruki extended her hand, her voice growing stern, "I told you to come out, Vannie." freēwēbnovel.com
In an instant, a flash of fear crossed Avansa’s eyes.
She must not defy her mother — obedience that had been rooted in Avansa’s mind since childhood kicked in, and she reflexively walked out of the cell, placing her slender but scarred right hand into Meiruki’s.
"Good child!" Meiruki said, narrowing her eyes in a smile.
"So it’s true, you are indeed the witch Meiruki." Daili said with her arms crossed, speaking from behind her. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
Although she didn’t recognize Meiruki personally, she had some knowledge about her — once a somewhat well-known witch, Meiruki joined the criminal underworld after being ousted from the "Witches’ Gathering" and used her expertise in magic potions and demon contracts to train adopted children into assassins, becoming the queen behind the scenes of the assassin world.
And Avansa was Meiruki’s proudest creation.
"Let’s not dwell on such trifles for now; what’s important is to leave this cage," Meiruki said, pulling Avansa and starting to walk out of the cell.
"Holy shit, someone’s breaking out!"
"Boss, wait up!"
"Take me with you!"
...
Not wanting to waste time, the four of them ignored the other prisoners’ shouts and left the core area directly.
Avansa was mechanically pulled forward by Meiruki, the bewilderment in her eyes growing deeper.
