Chapter 352: Chapter 352 A Good Deal_1
Aiden finished his work at hand and took out the Great Witch’s Credential for a look. While he slept, he always wore it and let it maintain the flow of Magic Power.
But no contact had come, which meant that Qiqimora had not yet found any valuable intelligence.
However, this was normal, as the time had not yet reached four in the afternoon. That butler who monitored Susan was usually not in the secret room until evening. Even if information were to be gathered from him, it would most likely have to wait until nightfall.
Speaking of the butler, he was a bold one, staying inside the mansion to handle the aftermath. Although the probability of Joey Lawson barging in during the day was quite low, it couldn’t be said to be absolutely impossible... No, if the Scales of Smiles could detect Joey’s location through their informant network first, they should be able to continuously monitor his movements.
Joey Lawson had once sent a threatening anonymous letter to that country villa. With his stalker tendencies, he likely had scouted around that village as well.
Joey was always in the shadows, but the Scales of Smiles held the "bait" to attract him. If an informant network were laid out in advance, locking onto his movements within this city should be feasible.
But this didn’t mean the Scales of Smiles could definitely achieve this; if the Scales were unwilling to pour too many resources into this matter, Aiden could only wait for the stalker to make a move, like guarding a stump waiting for rabbits.
And from the current situation, this scenario seemed quite possible...
If the Scales of Smiles could find out Joey Lawson’s whereabouts, they should be able to negotiate with him before he took any action.
If a lower investment could resolve the situation, the Scales of Smiles, being profit-oriented, probably wouldn’t easily send their informants to their death.
Of course, it was also possible that they had already attempted negotiations, which just hadn’t panned out.
After all, the reputation of the Scales of Smiles was quite infamous among those in the know... Moreover, since they were planning to eliminate Joey Lawson, if Joey were rational, he wouldn’t negotiate with such an organization.
Though upon further consideration, this stalker really couldn’t be considered rational...
Sending Qiqimora to find out if the Scales of Smiles had tracked Joey’s movements was, in the end, just a hope to simplify the task as much as possible, while also expanding the mission intelligence.
So far, the information Aiden obtained came only from the descriptions given by Sophie and Susan, which could verify each other, and Sophie’s testimony had even been confirmed as the truth by the Wordless Code. However, in terms of perspective, it was still not comprehensive enough.
It would be best if Qiqimora could find additional information, but if not, she could also help share some of the burden of protecting Susan. With Qiqimora’s abilities, given Susan’s cooperation, she could stay in that mansion indefinitely.
If Joey Lawson started to make a move, even if Qiqimora couldn’t kill him, she should at least ensure Susan’s safe evacuation—as long as Susan Feng didn’t die, the task given by Sophie wouldn’t be considered a failure.
Speaking of the stalker, he really had patience; after so many days, he still hadn’t officially taken action.
Before nightfall or further contact, Aiden judged that his side could stand fast for the time being.
So what next, deal with tomorrow’s work or take another nap to be refreshed and revitalized...
After much thought, Aiden decided to head to the cafeteria to grab something to eat, having had only one meal in the morning.
But just as he was putting the Great Witch’s Credential into his pocket and preparing to get up, he heard Abigail’s voice, "Sir, may I have a moment?"
Aiden paused for a moment, then took out the credential again, "Abigail?"
"Qiqimora has reached out for communication, are you available to listen?" Abigail’s calm voice came through.
The Great Witch’s Credential could establish long-distance contact, but it seemed that Abigail was the only one who could construct this link. To some extent, Abigail was their operator—and fortunately, the Great Witch didn’t mind that role.
"Wait a few seconds..." Aiden locked the door and then returned to his seat, "I’m available, thank you." freeweɓnovel.cøm
No sooner had he spoken than the swirling mist pulled Aiden into Abigail’s summoning space.
Upon entering, Aiden paused because the scene was quite unusual. It wasn’t the usual pumpkin lantern-lit long table and high-backed chairs, nor the bathroom from the last time he met Abigail alone. Instead, it was... a kitchen and dining room.
Abigail was stirring a pot on the stove not far away, and he was sitting in a chair by the dining table, seemingly waiting for a meal. Opposite him, enshrouded by the mist, stood Qiqimora, arms folded, beside the table.
"This... what’s the situation?" Aiden looked back and forth between the two, suddenly unsure where to start his complaints.
"Abigail, are you concocting a potion?" Qiqimora was much calmer than Aiden.
"No, just cooking," Abigail replied nonchalantly.
"It turns out you still need to eat," Aiden was a bit surprised.
"I don’t actually need to, but I just felt like it. Surpassing humans in power doesn’t mean I have to disconnect from humanity," Abigail answered blandly. "Don’t mind me, just talk amongst yourselves."
Aiden could understand the sentiment; not being starved to death and savoring good food weren’t in conflict, but to completely ignore Abigail in this situation was a bit challenging, especially since seeing the legendary witch at the pinnacle wearing an apron and cooking at the stove was indeed a rare scene.
"I’m sorry for the inconvenience and for troubling you on such short notice," Qiqimora clearly had experience with this, shifting her gaze to Aiden, "Warden, I have a significant breakthrough on my end.
"The news you bring is much earlier than I anticipated. Have you discovered Joey Lawson’s whereabouts?" Aiden asked.
"Yes, I’ve found out very clearly," Qiqimora said with a mysterious smile.
"Where?"
"A place you’d never expect." frёewebηovel.cѳm
"Don’t play coy at a time like this," Aiden frowned involuntarily.
"Sorry, sorry, it’s just that the turn of events was a little unexpected," Qiqimora laughed. "Actually, Joey Lawson is here right now."
"Right there?" Aiden’s expression changed upon hearing this. "He’s come knocking on the door?"
"Not exactly, he’s actually in this house, inside that hidden room you mentioned to me, where that butler sir is as well, and I’m standing right next to them," Qiqimora replied.
"What do you mean?" Aiden found himself confused.
"They are negotiating a deal, and it looks like..." Qiqimora paused, "that big star and her maid friend are about to be sold out by their own organization."
