Chapter 208: Chapter 208 Come Hit Me Through the Internet Cable_1

In the afternoon, Aiden appeared in Abigail’s summoning space as promised.

Upon entering, he saw several pairs of eyes focused on him. Even with the fog obscuring their expressions, he could feel the sharpness in the gaze of the five people opposite him.

Facing such a tense opening, Aiden spoke with a hint of humor, "Your looks seem a bit frightening. Did you not sleep well last night?"

Aiden figured it was only natural they hadn’t slept, considering the Witch Gathering was a loosely organized battle-of-all-against-all, and the Great Witches who joined the conflict were not there for organizational survival or collective honor, but mainly for their own chance to attain divinity.

The Witch Gathering had been bustling around the Cult for so long, and in the end, Aiden had snatched all the spoils. Anyone would be vexed enough to lose sleep over it.

"Fuck you, you little shit, cough up my share of the divinity!" Habanis was the first to lose her temper, slamming the table and roaring at Aiden like a lion.

Aiden didn’t even look at Habanis; instead, he stared into Abigail’s eyes and pointed at Habanis, "Can you shut her up first?"

"Go to hell! Since when do you, an outsider, get to speak here?!" Habanis cursed.

But Abigail replied calmly, "Habanis, be quiet."

"What!?" Habanis stared at Abigail in disbelief, "Abigail, have you fucking lost your mind siding with this kid—"

At that moment, Qiqimora, who was sitting next to Habanis, turned her head and interrupted, "Enough Habanis, stop chirping like a sparrow; shut up!"

"Shut up!" Lamia echoed in a hoarse voice, "We’re negotiating, not brawling in the streets."

The three older Great Witches understood the situation better than the impulsive Habanis. Now that the divinity and the relics were in Aiden’s hands, the lead in negotiations was with the other side. If Aiden wanted to monopolize everything, he could just cut off all ties with them unilaterally. Aiden showing up for the negotiations meant there was still room for maneuver regarding the spoil’s division.

More importantly, Aiden Galahad was privy to a wealth of information about the Divine Decrees. They had long speculated that he held more than just one Divine Decree.

Now that Aiden had taken all the divinity of a saint, if he knew all the Divine Decrees related to a certain authority, then he might have already become a "saint" near that authority, likely no weaker than Abigail or Sister Neve. It would be unwise to directly confront such an opponent. If not for the Harvest Mother Cult’s determination to eliminate Abigail, a stumbling block to their restoration efforts, and to take away the Hatching Egg, the Witch Gathering wouldn’t need to clash with such a troublesome adversary.

"Let’s not beat around the bush any longer," Abigail went straight to the point, "What exactly do you want, sir? Just say it."

"The key isn’t what I want, but what you can offer me. If you want what’s in my hands, you’ll have to show some sincerity," Aiden replied calmly.

From the attitude of the witches’ council towards negotiation, he could sense that the council still hadn’t figured out the extent of his power, and their wariness had only increased since he had taken all of Neve’s divinity. In such a situation, it was necessary for him to appear stronger to dominate the conversation.

"What do you mean by what’s in your hands? We put in more effort to defeat the Harvest Mother Cult, we just want to take back what we rightfully deserve," Vila said discontentedly.

"Heh, interesting, we didn’t lay out any terms for the division of spoils, where does it say what you rightfully deserve?" Aiden laughed, "And may I ask who it was that stood me up yesterday when I honestly followed the plan to join the siege and then drew the enemy over to my side? Now you start talking to me about the spirit of integrity, does your face not turn red?" frёewebηovel.cѳm

"Aiya, actually we knew that the true saint was Sister Neve all along, so we left the simple target for the jailor, you," Qiqimora blatantly lied without any concern.

"Don’t treat me like an idiot," Aiden didn’t bother to refute.

"That was an unexpected situation, all the nuns in the mine were impregnated with synthetic beasts, we exerted ourselves to eliminate the enemy’s main defense force," Lamia calmly countered, "Moreover, if we hadn’t gathered there to intercept, Sister Neve would have slipped away long ago, and in the end, it was us who held on under the pressure and caught her."

"But the fact remains that you simply wanted to use me to hold back the saint, and besides, you’ve been emphasizing how much more effort you’ve put in, but who was it that killed Sister Neve? Do I need to remind everyone?" Aiden said to all those present, spreading his hands.

"So, Your Excellency, are you saying there’s nothing to talk about?" Abigail said coldly, cutting to the heart of the matter with each of her statements.

"I wouldn’t go so far as to drive such a hard bargain; although I’ve taken all the divinity, Sister Neve’s remains still hold the complete Divine Decrees of ’proliferation.’ How about this, the divinity is mine, and you can have the remains," Aiden replied.

Aiden knew that keeping all the divinity for himself was already quite a steep demand. Abigail only wanted the Divine Decrees of ’proliferation’; the deal wasn’t a loss for her personally, but the other Great Witches would certainly not agree.

"You motherfucker, after all this time you just come here to play us? See if I don’t slaughter you today, you little bastard!" Sure enough, Habanis immediately got so angry that she stood up, poised to climb onto the table and run over to beat him.

"You get so confused when you’re angry? Seems like Miss Habanis’s brain capacity is indeed bird-sized," he remarked.

Aiden knew he was untouchable in this projected "chat room" and so he switched on the keyboard warrior mode that was a common sight in his previous world, with an attitude that said, "If you’re brave enough, come beat me through the internet cable."

"Enough, Your Excellency, I will not accept these terms," Abigail interjected, stopping them, "They heeded my call to fight the Harvest Mother Cult, I must give them an explanation."

Of course, Abigail couldn’t accept this condition; Aiden’s proposal sounded like she wouldn’t lose out personally, but the moment she accepted, the other Great Witches would inevitably turn against her. The witches’ council was now clearly split between her and Aiden against the other Great Witches, and she couldn’t possibly take such obvious bait.

Aiden was also well aware that Abigail would not accept, so he went on to say, "So, you mean to say I should give some divinity to each of them? Four people, that’s not a small asking price. Are you going to pay them their compensation?"
