Chapter 98: Chapter 98: Who is Julian Nash?

Felix Fletcher watched the three women leave in the reflection of the silverware, his eyes filled with a dark, venomous look.

’Damn it. What bad luck.’

’I’m never coming to this restaurant again.’

Cheesie, who had been lounging lazily on a soft chair cushion, now lifted its head to watch Renee and the other two leave.

It blinked its feline eyes, glanced back at its raving master, and leaped silently and gracefully from the chair.

Its four little paws padded across the soft carpet as it quickly caught up to Renee’s group, deftly slipping through the glass door just before it closed.

Its tail was nearly caught.

"Let’s go to the coffee shop across the street and talk," Renee Jennings suggested.

Evelyn Hollis had no objection, but she remained wary.

They crossed the road, unaware that Cheesie was trotting along right behind them.

Inside the coffee shop, Evelyn Hollis sat down across from Renee Jennings and Michelle Fuller, hesitating over how to begin. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

"You’re Miss Hollis, right?" Michelle Fuller smiled. "I’m Michelle Fuller, and this is my friend, Renee Jennings."

Evelyn Hollis nodded. "Hello. I’m Evelyn Hollis."

Michelle Fuller continued, "Actually, I have nothing to do with that Fletcher guy."

Evelyn Hollis frowned, looking puzzled. "What do you mean? But you just said he scammed you out of money..."

"Well, here’s what happened..." Michelle Fuller explained her reasons for doing what she did.

Evelyn Hollis’s frown only deepened, however.

She sized up Renee Jennings and Michelle Fuller, her tone laced with dissatisfaction. "Are you two messing with me? A cat told you? How could a cat possibly talk? And even if it could, you’d have to be able to understand it!"

She clenched her fists, saying resentfully, "You two have gone too far!"

Michelle Fuller, having anticipated her disbelief, said calmly, "Miss Hollis, please don’t get worked up just yet."

"You ruined my blind date. How could I not be worked up?" Evelyn Hollis was furious.

Michelle Fuller kept the smile on her face. "First, take out your phone and search for my friend’s name on TikTok."

"What?" Evelyn Hollis’s brow was furrowed so deeply you could trap a fly in it. "Can you stop messing with me? And to think I actually chose to trust you!" she said impatiently.

Michelle Fuller: "..."

She sighed, searched for Renee Jennings’s name on her own phone, and turned the screen toward Evelyn Hollis. "Take a look at this first, then you can decide whether or not to be angry with us."

The viewers in Renee Jennings’s livestream heard Evelyn Hollis’s emotional outburst and were a little annoyed.

[This woman doesn’t know what’s good for her! The streamer and her friend were kind enough to save her from a disaster, and this is the attitude she has!]

[Let her go back and be stuck with the scumbag forever! I give up!]

[To be fair, you can kind of understand it. At first, Miss Hollis thought Michelle was another girl who’d been hurt by that scumbag.]

Of course, Michelle Fuller wasn’t showing Evelyn Hollis the live comments, but rather the recordings of Renee Jennings’s previous two streams, along with the viewer comments.

Evelyn Hollis set the phone down on the table and said unhappily, "Are you two just putting on a show? I can’t believe my bad luck, getting dragged into one of your little games!"

[Holy crap, she’s saying she’s unlucky? She’s the lucky one!]

[This is unbelievable. Streamer, just let her go back to that train wreck!]

The smile on Michelle Fuller’s face froze.

She wanted to explode, but she held it in.

She forced the words out through gritted teeth. "You can always go back."

"You’ve already ruined everything, how am I supposed to go back now?" Evelyn Hollis was incredibly frustrated. "How could I be so unlucky!"

This was her sixth failed blind date.

[My god, this woman is really something else!]

[I feel so bad for the streamer and her friend. They were just trying to help. To not even get a thank you is one thing, but to be talked to like this...]

With a stony expression, Evelyn Hollis slung her bag under her arm and left without another word.

Michelle Fuller watched her leave. Only when she saw that Evelyn wasn’t heading back to the restaurant across the street did she finally breathe a sigh of relief.

She turned to her best friend, puzzled. "Renee, why were you so quiet just now?"

"Because you’re my mouthpiece," Renee Jennings said, meeting her gaze with a slight lift of her eyebrow. "You said everything I wanted to say."

The bad mood Evelyn Hollis had put Michelle Fuller in vanished in an instant.

She affectionately linked her arm through Renee Jennings’s, a sweet smile gracing her lips. "That’s because we’re on the same wavelength, after all."

"You’re right," Renee Jennings agreed, her eyes crinkling with a deep smile.

[Wow, I’m so jealous of the streamer and her friend’s relationship!]

[You two are so positive. I can’t believe you didn’t let that girl get to you.]

[If I were misunderstood like that, I’d probably be a nervous wreck.]

Michelle Fuller glanced at the live comments and explained with a laugh, "Oh, it did get to me, but Renee cured me!"

Renee Jennings’s lips curled into a smile. "Same here."

[See, friendship, just like love, has to be a two-way street!]

[Hey, aren’t you the ’Autumnal Bloom’ who donates to the streamer?]

Michelle Fuller snapped her fingers and pointed at the screen. "My friend, you guessed it! As a reward, DM me your address and I’ll send you a bottle of perfume~"

[Whoa, whoa, whoa, for real?]

[Wow, that’s our beautiful Rich Lady for you.]

Michelle Fuller’s offer to send perfume sparked another wave of discussion, and many new viewers flooded into the stream.

[I heard The Rich Lady is giving away perfume here. Is it true?]

[The Rich Lady, pick me!]

"It’s fake!" Michelle Fuller said with a deadpan expression, then broke into a grin a second later. "But I can give away lipstick. I’ll give one to whoever praises Renee."

The public chat was instantly flooded with effusive praise. Some of the comments even made the normally thick-skinned Renee Jennings feel her cheeks flush.

After the storm of compliments, a viewer brought up Evelyn Hollis again.

[I wonder if she’ll regret what she said today if she ever stumbles across the stream?]

[She’ll definitely regret it.]

[Does the streamer regret helping her?]

Renee Jennings saw the comment and replied after a moment of thought, "To be honest, even though she was ungrateful, I don’t regret helping her. What she thinks isn’t important. What matters is that I have a clear conscience."

"Exactly!" Michelle Fuller nodded in agreement.

[The streamer is so classy!]

[Boohoo, streamer, can you please turn on donations? I want to channel all my excitement and show you!]

[Me too! I really want to donate, but I can never find the button for it!]

[You deserve all the fame!]

[Streamer, when are you going to the zoo to stream the big ol’ tiger?]

Renee Jennings smiled. "I’ll be going to the zoo in a couple of days."

’I still have to report back to the tiger brothers. If I’m late, Rory will get mad again.’

Just after she said that, she noticed the live comments were all spammed with the same name.

[Julian Nash!!!]

[Boohoo, my dear Julian!]

[Ahhh, Julian Nash is here too!] fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

[I’ve really made it in life. My idol is watching the same stream as me.]

"Julian Nash?" Michelle Fuller, who couldn’t care less about the entertainment industry, asked a question that would get her canceled by his fans: "Who’s that?"

Renee Jennings blinked and shook her head, looking just as lost. "No idea."
