Chapter 178: Serena’s Training

He stopped talking for a second just to let her process the information.

"But to pull that off, they literally have to tear their own bodies down." Adrian continued. "A lot of knights are trained to the point where their muscle fibers actually tear apart. And while those muscles recover and heal, they forcefully absorb mana through their breathing methods. That is how the new muscle tissue learns how to naturally take mana into itself. That is the exact reason why knights are so physically strong. Their muscles are literally infused with raw mana."

"Even the old, traditional knights do the exact same thing." Adrian said. "But the method I use for my soldiers is slightly more dangerous. The risk is higher, but their physical growth is significantly faster due to the targeted damage."

He stared right at her face.

"I have a hidden method too. But I only hand it out to people I actually trust." Adrian whispered. "In this specific method, you break down your own bones too. And you forcefully send mana into it to help heal it. Due to this extreme damage, even your bones gain the ability to absorb and circulate mana."

He took a slow breath.

"And the method we are going to use right now is incredibly similar." Adrian stated. "But instead of our physical bodies, we will be intentionally breaking down our mana veins."

Serena flinched hard. But she kept her hands locked right where they were.

"We will be damaging the mana veins." Adrian warned her. "And then we will heal the cracks back together using excess mana pulled straight from the atmosphere. This cycle of destruction and healing will forcefully increase the overall strength and durability of your mana veins."

He kept explaining the core theory so she would fully understand the process.

"The higher the strength of the mana vein is, the higher your official mana vein rank becomes." Adrian said. "An F rank mana vein is basically just a frail, incredibly thin pathway filled with natural cracks. But when you compare it to an S rank vein? Those are ridiculously thick. They can circulate a massive amount of mana and hold significantly more raw energy without any problems."

"And they can also generate a much better mana output compared to lower ranked veins." Adrian continued explaining, "And due to this brutal process, it is exactly the same as a physical breakdown. It hurts, but this specific method will hurt a lot more."

He stared at her pale face. freewēbnoveℓ.com

"It will make you feel like your brain is on fire. You will be using your consciousness to forcefully move all of this mana around your body, and even your mana heart will hurt. You will feel a ridiculous amount of pain from your mana heart. To you, it is going to feel exactly like your actual, physical heart is literally burning alive. But it will not be."

Adrian could feel her hands start to shake against his palms, but she did not back out.

She stopped resting her hand on his and completely grabbed them instead. She squeezed his hands tight and shut her eyes.

"Okay." Serena whispered with a slight tremble in her voice. "Let’s start."

Adrian did not just let her cling to him. He wrapped his fingers right back around hers.

"You have to calm down first." Adrian said gently. "Take some deep breaths and keep your palms totally open. You need to let the mana move freely between us, and you need to let your body be completely relaxed. That will allow me to speed up this painful process a lot faster."

"Okay." Serena mumbled.

A long, shaky breath left her mouth. She took a bit of time and did what he said, and her racing heart finally slowed down a bit. Her stiff shoulders dropped. She loosened her death grip and just let her palms lay completely flat against his skin.

"Now, get ready." Adrian said with his palms open below hers.

Adrian immediately sent his own mana rushing into her body. Since he was a third circle mage, his total mana pool and raw output were significantly larger than hers. So he could easily flood her system with it.

And as the surge of mana crashed into her delicate pathways, Adrian spoke.

"Use my mana." Adrian said quickly. "Circulate it forcefully throughout your entire body. The raw amount of mana hitting you right now is vastly more than what your mana veins can safely handle. So you need to keep it moving constantly so that damage isn’t too big."

"And yes, it is going to be incredibly painful." Adrian said. "But you need to push through it and continue circulating. I will act as the secondary anchor point to complete this circuit of mana. I will be pulling the excess mana back out of your body, and I will be sending it right back into you."

He explained the mechanics.

"This will create a closed circle." Adrian stated. "For both of us, it will literally feel like our bodies are constantly circulating more mana than our veins can handle."

"Okay." Serena gasped out.

She immediately started her rapid circulation.

Adrian pushed his mana out from his right hand, shooting it directly into her left hand. The mana flooded into her body, and Serena desperately controlled the chaotic flow. Then she pushed her own mana, along with his excess energy, out through her right hand. The mana rushed directly back into Adrian’s left hand.

The closed circuit was officially established, and the violent mana was moving incredibly fast.

Adrian intentionally manipulated his mana to aggressively attack her fragile F rank mana veins. He forced the energy to push against the thin pathways, deliberately creating micro cracks all along her mana veins.

Serena went totally rigid the exact second the pain hit her. Adrian watched her face twist up completely and at the same time, a quiet, miserable groan slipped right out of her mouth.

"Keep your focus!" Adrian yelled.

Serena flinched.

"Use the circulating mana to immediately repair those cracks!" Adrian ordered.
