Chapter 147: Happy Birthday!!

’When exactly is his birthday?’ she thought as she sat on her bed.

She tried to remember, but after a few minutes she realised that Adrian had never talked about his birthday or celebrated it.

Because even in her past life before that messy divorce tore everything apart, nobody ever threw a party for Adrian.

All throughout her first five years of life, she watched Vaneira throw massive parties for herself. Vaneira invited hundreds of nobles and bought mountains of expensive gifts.

But she never threw a single party for Adrian.

And that realization pissed Aria off.

’I really hate that woman...’

The next evening, Adrian found himself standing inside Celeste’s apartment.

The room was packed tight. Celeste, Caelum, Claire, Serena, Cassius, Burke, and Thorne were all gathered in the living area. Adrian used his Dungeon Link and pulled out all the clothes.

The room was instantly filled with excitement as they checked their new clothes.

But Claire had the biggest reaction so far. freёwebnovel.com

She stared at her new dress and gasped.

She turned to look at Adrian who was standing right next to her and pulled him into a tight hug.

"Thank you." Claire laughed loudly. "I honestly never thought I would own clothes this nice."

She pulled back a second later and felt the crazy soft material with her fingers.

It was ridiculously smooth. She had never seen a dress that felt this soft in her entire life.

But Aria definitely got the absolute best piece in the room. The dress had a lot of layers and was stitched in a way that just made it look much better than any of the outfits in the room. None of them had ever seen a dress this complicated.

Claire kept staring at the black and red dress, and a weird little wish forced its way into her brain right then.

’How nice would it be if he actually made a dress like that for me too...’

But she quickly looked back down at her own cream colored gown.

’How can I not be happy with this?’ Claire smiled to herself. ’I have never owned anything like this before. I wish I could just wear it right now.’

The other girls showed similar reactions.

Serena did not say a word but that massive smile stretching across her face was enough of a proof for Adrian to know that she totally loved it.

And Celeste was not hiding her excitement either as she showed off her outfit to her brother. She held her dress up to the light and chatted excitedly. Meanwhile, Caelum was just busy admiring his own premium suit while he treated his sister’s words like useless ramblings.

"Okay." Adrian clapped his hands together. "Everything is set. Now I just need the actual party preparations to happen in complete secret."

He looked around the room.

Aria was currently fast asleep back in the mansion. It was almost night and Adrian had managed to tire her out enough to take a nap. So this was the perfect time to plan.

"I need you guys to talk to everyone." Adrian ordered. "Tell every single soldier and builder to gather at the training grounds tomorrow morning. Tell them to start preparing for the party."

Then he turned to look at Claire before speaking.

"I will be gone all day tomorrow," Adrian said. "I am taking Aria out. So when we get back here in the evening, I need this place to be totally ready."

He crossed his arms.

"Tell the chefs to make their best dishes." Adrian added. "Get them to prep a mountain of desserts and also make sure the dance stage is set up perfectly."

He crossed his arms. "Basically, just make sure we have everything a massive party needs."

"Yes, my lord." the group agreed.

"I will make sure everything gets done on time." Claire promised. "And it will be perfect."

The others nodded along.

Adrian left the apartment and headed straight home. He hit his bedroom and crashed immediately.

He woke up a couple hours later and checked the time. Exactly four in the morning.

So he sneaked down the quiet hallway and pushed Aria’s door open just a little. She was still sleeping so he left her alone and walked down to the kitchen.

He sent some mana into the iron pan. It got blazing hot and he went straight to work. He tossed some bread down to toast and scrambled a massive pile of eggs. Then he got a pot of pasta boiling and dumped his special sauce all over it.

He stacked the hot plates onto a tray and carried the whole breakfast upstairs.

Pushing her door open, he placed the food on the wooden table next to her bed. Then he gave her shoulder a gentle nudge.

"Aria." he called out softly. "Wake up."

"Mmmm..."

"Papa?" Aria said as she blinked and sat up in the bed.

And then she noticed it. The guy was smiling like a complete idiot.

It was this massive, goofy grin that she had literally never seen on his face until today. He honestly looked way more hyped up than she did. So much that a random stranger would probably assume it was his birthday instead of hers.

"Happy birthday, my sweet little angel." he whispered.

Aria just stared at him in silence for a second.

Her sleepiness just disappeared and a massive grin replaced it instantly.

She launched herself off the bed and threw her arms around his neck. She squeezed him with everything she had. Because she genuinely believed he forgot her special day and she actually decided to just not expect anything at all.

But he proved her completely wrong.

And it only took a few seconds for Adrian to feel the dampness on his collar.

Aria cried silently while she buried her face on his shoulder and refused to let go of him.

"I love you, Papa!" Aria sobbed. "I love you so much. You are my absolute favorite. You are the best."
