Chapter 2184: Chapter 2184: Poisoning—Perhaps the Miracle Doctor’s Medicine Is the Problem

Kenzie Nabours was steeped in extreme self‑reproach. He thought for a moment and answered subconsciously, "She took the medicine and went to rest."

Mrs. Davidson seized on the particular word: "Took medicine? What medicine?"

At this moment, a doctor in a white coat hurried toward them, a test report in his hand.

"Mr. Nabours." The doctor handed him a blood test report and said solemnly, "We have the lab results."

Kenzie Nabours took the report and was looking down at it.

Mrs. Davidson gently asked on the side, "Doctor, what do the results say?"

The doctor hesitated for a second. Seeing that Kenzie Nabours was focused on the results and didn’t seem to mean for him to keep quiet, he kept it brief: "We found signs of poisoning in Ms. Davidson’s blood."

"What, poisoning?!"

"How could my sister be poisoned?"

"Poisoned..."

Everyone in the corridor was in an uproar. No one had expected Marcella Davidson to be rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night because of poisoning, and in such critical condition.

The Old Lady was shaking with rage, her shoulders trembling; she almost lost her balance and immediately demanded an explanation from Kenzie Nabours: "Don’t you accompany Marcella every day? How could Marcella be poisoned?!"

Jaycent Kingsley, upon hearing the doctor say Marcella’s critical condition was caused by "poisoning," instinctively looked over at Leony Davidson.

He saw Leony acting extremely composed, with no trace of abnormality in her expression.

Jaycent’s brows knitted tightly, and a bad suspicion was already forming in his mind.

Leony was way too calm!

It was actually against common sense!

Because everyone else was utterly shocked.

Including Kenzie Nabours, his mom, and the Old Lady, even Mr. and Mrs. Davidson. When they heard the doctor say Marcella had been poisoned, every single person showed surprise; none of them had imagined this outcome.

Among all these people, Leony’s face alone showed no hint of astonishment, as if she had already known the result.

Furthermore, Jaycent had noticed that when the doctor mentioned Marcella being in critical condition, Leony’s gaze dodged for a moment, looking very guilty and taken aback.

And that surprise wasn’t at the fact that Marcella had been poisoned, but that she hadn’t expected Marcella’s condition to be this serious.

The light in Jaycent’s eyes flickered; his face had already darkened a little, and he was about to keep observing Leony to see if she showed any other abnormal behavior.

Just as everyone was in chaos, Leony suddenly spoke up: "Grandma, could it be that medicine the miracle doctor prescribed that has a problem?"

Whoosh—

All eyes swung to Leony.

Leony’s delicate face looked calm on the surface, but she couldn’t quite hide her nervousness as she said, seemingly offhand, "I was just thinking, since Aunt’s routine has been the same as usual and the only thing she took was that medicine from the miracle doctor... maybe that medicine has a problem?"

What she said wasn’t entirely unreasonable.

The majority of the Davidson Family relatives were swayed by her and started asking Kenzie Nabours one after another: "Yeah, what Leony said makes sense."

"Shouldn’t we have that medicine checked?"

"Right, since it’s poisoning, there has to be a cause. A person can’t just get poisoned for no reason."

"That doctor..."

It had never occurred to Kenzie Nabours that they’d try to pin this on Nathalie Quinlan. He held his head, feeling a splitting headache, and had just opened his mouth, intending to explain to these people that this absolutely had nothing to do with Nathalie.

Just then, at the far end of the corridor by the elevator, a man and a woman appeared.

"Uncle Nabours."

Kenzie Nabours looked over.

The Girl was dressed all in black, her style extremely cold and severe. She seemed to have come in a hurry and, unusually, wasn’t wearing a Duckbill Cap, revealing an exquisitely beautiful face—very young and striking.

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t so much as glance at the imposing crowd lined up in the corridor. Without looking left or right, she walked straight over to Kenzie Nabours and asked him, "Uncle Nabours, where is she?"
